The idea and intent of Goodwill started good enough but that is no longer the case. There's no 'profit' per say, because of accounting practices and distribution of unused revenue amongst the upper level executive. The clothes are no longer a good deal, nor does the business exist to transfer the goodwill of those that donated the items. They get it for free, why sell them at eBay prices? It's becoming a scam really... The following numbers are a couple of years old, it's expectingly higher now. Key Employees and Officers Compensation Mark Barth (President & Ceo) $411,189 Desmond Carter (Coo) $267,017 John Leopold (Vp Enterprise Support) $219,372 Take your items to those that give them out for free or actually sell them at prices that is befitting a store set up to help tie the less fortunate over. Goodwill is BS. Don't do it.

My mom and I visited B-Thrifty a couple of Sundays ago, and the customer service we received was…read moredisappointing enough that I wanted to share our experience. I asked our cashier, "Joe," if I could enter my phone number for any discounts or to accumulate points toward membership benefits, and he rudely said, "It's too late." When I asked what he meant, he repeated that it was too late because the store was closing and he couldn't allow me to enter my number, even though it wasn't 7 p.m. yet, the store was still open, and there was still a line of customers checking out. I wasn't asking for anything complicated, just to enter my number on the keypad right in front of him, ring up our items, and check out. I also asked if my mother could sign up for a membership, since I'd been raving about this store and she was excited to join. He said no to both. I was genuinely confused because he seemed annoyed with us, and we hadn't done anything to him. Confused, I asked for a manager. It wasn't a miscommunication, since Joe spoke perfect English. I just genuinely didn't understand the refusal. While waiting, I overheard another cashier explaining the day's color-tag discounts and promotions to a different customer. Joe never offered us any of that information. We were met with rudeness and dismissiveness from him. When the manager came over, she had an attitude and talked over me as I tried to explain what was going on. She said Joe meant "there's no deals on Sundays" and pointed to the sign. I told her I already knew that, I can read, and I've been a member there for years. I was trying to explain that Joe had refused to let me enter my phone number, sign my mom up for a membership, or tell us about the color-tag discounts, claiming it was too late because the store was closing , even though there were still people in the store. The manager's response was that if we needed discounts, we should come back Monday through Thursday, which missed the point entirely and left my mother and me feeling like we'd been stereotyped as customers who were only there for discounts. I've shopped at this store for years and brought my mother because I wanted her to love it as much as I do. Instead, the visit left us feeling dismissed and stereotyped over what should have been a simple, friendly interaction. Joe and the manager were rude and unwelcoming, which made us so uncomfortable. A little patience and basic courtesy would have made all the difference. Please work on your customer service.

You can find some good finds if you sift through this thrift store…read more Some items are very cheap for what they are worth but some items are too expensive. For example you can get an undershirt brand new from Walmart for 2 dollars, and sometimes they charge 5 dollars for an undershirt here. I've found some awesome antique items here for pennies. B-Thrifty - Hermes & Dolce for three bucks. Heck of a deal. Their ties are stapled together and you get two for three bucks. Major score!!!!
