This is truly one of the great cigar bars on the east coast, possibly even the entire country, and I have been to quite a few. What sets it apart is the superior collection of top notch cigars including some of the hardest to find cigars on the planet. In addition to the cigars the selection of adult beverages is top notch. I'm a brown liquor drinker myself and the many choices of top shelf scotch & bourbon is admirable, including again some of the hardest to find. So Ronnie is hands down the most passionate person about cigars that I have ever met and I talk with a lot of these guys at different places which are good too, but Ronnie just offers up more value than anyone else I've spoken to when being given a tour of his humidor. I've smoked a lot of sticks but this guy will always point you towards something new and it will always be something that he would smoke himself. I am a budding cigar enthusiast. I really enjoyed the conversation with the tobacconist at Secreto. He was very friendly and super knowledgeable. He allowed me to peruse the humidor as long as I wanted without interrupting my thought process of selecting. When I was finished, he cut and lit my cigar and we had a great conversation. The selection of sticks was vast. I was able to choose favorites and pick up a few cigars that I've wanted to try. Unfortunately, Secreto serves no food, which I was looking forward to as I was starving. I'm not sure why there are pictures of food in the reviews here, but any who. The drinks were great, and served promptly. Secreto isn't a good spot for a large gathering of friends, however. Space and seating are very limited. read more

From what I have heard and seen in photos, it is a great lounge. My interactions have been all online, maybe a phone call or two. The service and shipping have been stellar, so my highest rating, recommendation, and loyalty as a customer are solid. He is also a skilled tobacconist. He won't tell you what that cigar was if all you give him is a description of how it looked, but if you tell him what you liked about it and possibly what you don't like about cigars, he will make a recommendation that will please you. I used to come here when I lived in ferndale. I was always annoyed by the owner but the last time I went was the last straw. The guy is totally elitist and condescending for no reason. The reviews here are correct, way overpriced-priced, stale ambiance, uncomfortable seating, rude owner. The guy acts like he has a line out the door, like this is Churchill's or something. Located towards the end of the most popular 9 Mile strip in Ferndale. Very limited street parking, three public pay lots are within 1-2 blocks. It is a cigar bar. We have been here several times, most recently this week. Inside a liquor bar with a small selection of tap craft beer takes up one wall. Some booths, a private cigar locker area, and a large cigar humidor sales room and counter take up the rest of the front area. Both the bartenders and cigar salesmen are always polite and helpful. Decent but not great prices. A number of the customers are regulars, but I have gotten good service every time. Our last visit there were 6 in our party, so they opened the large function/party area in the back for us. That was nice of them, but it is dated and worn, as opposed to the clean, trendy front areas. Clean restrooms. read more

I love cigar bars. Will drive miles to hang out in one. This one is a mile from my home, but I don't come here much. Ambiance: sterile. No ambiance. None. No comfortable seating areas. Bar not cozy. 1980's grey neutral. Tables and chairs mostly. Bar: long bar with cheap uncomfortable chairs. Fully stocked. Short pours. Almost friendly bartender. Service: just one employee. Bartender/ server. Crowd: empty every time I come here. Not sure how this place stays open. read more

As you know, i am a very polite and upbeat person. I support everyone on everything but tonight....I have never experienced such rude service ever in life!! The "bartender I asked several times for a drink a with no service. I had to literally chase one chic down for a appetizer in a non crowded establishment (Strike 1) . Strike 2, we all were using cards and asked her to split the bill, she replied what you dont want to tip me rudely ? Strike 3, she said yall must need it more than me.. Strike 4, she proceeded to point out all her regulars (the only people she actually served) and say if she is so rude, why they come all the time? This is Poor customer service period, I have never been so disrespected! First maam, Seek to understand why the bill was split. It was originally 3 people only. You never serviced the other 2 at all. They came later and got drinks from the bar directly. Next your comment we need it more, this is a table full of married "higher educated" unions. A great place to relax and enjoy a Cigar. They have an incredible selection of cigars with a very knowledgeable staff to assist you with picking just the right cigar. Secreto's bar carries selections from Top Shelf hard to get Whiskeys, Brandies, and Tequilas to Craft Beers. Bar service is pretty darn good but can be a little slow on a busy night. I haven't tried many of the food offerings but my favorite is the Shrimp on a bed of Spinach served with a side of Don Julio 1942. Overall a GREAT place to have a good smoke, enjoy a darn good beverage and eat a tasty meal. WARNING, this is not your grandads Cigar spot. There are no cheap overused leather like sofas and chairs. You won't be sitting on top of each other trying to enjoy your smoke. The smoke won't be too thick to see where you are walking. Secreto was a hidden gem. My husband loves cigars. I don't. It was date night, there was a groupon, thus the night was formed. The first part of the evening that I thoroughly enjoyed was the Location. The venue is classical beauty, the lights are dimmed to just the right dimness. The second part that made our evening awesome and unique was our very knowledgeable waiter. The waiter took us to the cigar vault and helped us pick out our cigars. I had no idea v what I was doing but he did. I picked a grape cigar it tasted great.... The third and best part of the evening that brought me great and unexpected joy was our dinner. A great steak with asparagus and mashed potatoes cooked to perfection. As we choose cigars, enjoyed eachothers company and ate a wonderful meal we were serenaded with live music, usually that irritates my soul. This evening the singer was light, fun and covered many popular Motown songs that I sang along and grooved to. I've been here twice. I'm not by any means a cigar smoker, my last cigar before coming to Secreto was well over three years ago. I professed my ignorance as we entered the humidor and the staff was very friendly at answering my questions and finding something for me to try. I would echo the sentiments of other reviews though in pointing out that it seems to get overly smokey and it has a "club" feel to it, which doesn't tie in well with the idea of cigar smoking in my opinion. I did not care for the beer list. It seemed to be struggling to draw a crowd in at first, but it seems to gaining some momentum. I didn't hate it, but it just wasn't my kind of place. read more

Went here to watch some of the NCAA basketball games last Saturday. This place was great. They have a gentleman to help recommend cigars to you inside the large walk in humidor. The bartenders were very nice and could actually keep up a conversation and make adequate recommendations on cocktails. There was no music that day, but Erica the bartender mentioned there was a jazz band that played the night before. I hope to catch some live music there rather than a DJ spinning tunes like previously reported. All in all a great place I will visit frequently. read more

This place is not one that I could go to on a regular basis, but I am glad it exists. Despite what you can see from the outside, they have a healthy sized walk-in humidor. The prices on cigars were surprisingly reasonable and the salesman that helped me, seemed to be more concerned with matching me with the right cigar, as opposed to the most expensive one. They do have a full bar, but I was a bit disappointed by the size versus cost ratio. Overall a nice place to relax and have a beer and smoke. I will be back. read more

Stopped in here to have a stogie and watch the Belmont Stakes with my girl and enjoyed ourselves. It has a very modern, industrial design and feel and we sat, belly- up, at the bar of which we were greeted and served relatively quickly for a mid- day cocktail. I will say, it seemed the cigar host that is there to assist you with your selection was helpful but I felt as if he didn't quite know that much about cigars or was trying really hard. I had my sights set on a nice Acid Deep Dish and he was more than helpful in punching and lighting it for me. We rejoined our seats and I ordered a moscow mule, my girl got a mojito and both were excellently crafted! Had a few more beers while enjoying my cigar and watching the race. Talked a bit with some of the other patrons enjoying the same amenities I was and over all, an enjoyable experience. Would like it if they could upgrade in increase the ventilation in the building.
