We arrived at the Royalton Spash in Cancun Mexico on June 10th. Three adults and 2 children 5 & 9…read more From the moment we walked thru the front doors, it was an amazing stay! Checkin was a breeze and we were shown an area to get something to eat and drink right away. Then shown to our rooms. Two large room with 2 queen beds. They were very comfy to sleep in, along with nice pillows and bed covers. Lots of drawer and hanging cloths storage. The bath room had a double sink. Bottled water, body lotion, shampoo, conditioner & body lotion were provided. There was the most powerful hair dryer I had ever used! To the right was a large area with a big frosted door that opened to a huge soaking tub and an over head shower. The bath tub had lots of hot water but the shower only got luke warm. To the left was another frosted door that opened to the toilet.  Each room had a balcony. Large TV. Fridge stocked with a variety of drinks that were refilled every day. There were also a variety of snacks. Each day Enrique or Ivan would check in on us to see if there was anything they could do for us. Before ending their shift, they would again ask. They were great and we loved their service. We ordered room service for one day, as none of us had ever done that before. We put our order in with Enrique and in the morning it was delivered at the time we requested. We made all our dinner reservations thru Enrique or Ivan also. There was one main dining area, The Gourmet Marche' with more food and variety than we could of imagined. From main dishes to salads, breads, desserts, drinks....you wouldn't go hungry! Our little ones especially enjoyed the chocolate fountain where they dipped marshmallows. A variety of resturants, from sushi (the best I have had anywhere!) to steaks. All of the food was amazing. There was an outdoor place called Nibbles where you could again get a nice variety of food for lunch. Two areas where you could get burgers and fries. I think also chicken strips. A place for ice cream and gelato, also desserts. A coffee cafe where you could order speciality drinks. There was also a coffee bar for regular coffee where you could help yourself. And another that had a machine with lattes and other coffees - again helping yourself. Also desserts, bagels etc.  Almost forgot to mention the pizza - it was delicious! They made their dough right there and toppings were added, then baked in a wood fired dome. Lots of birds around but never saw one fly! Outdoors, the pools went on forever. Lots of places to sit or lay out with umbrellas. You could go up to the bars and order a huge variety of drinks or one of the many waiters or waitresses would take your drink orders. Tipping was not required but we did tip them. There was a swim up bar with stools where you sat in the water.  Lots of activities all day long - water volley ball, water exercise. One day there was a foam machine and everyone loved that! Long white balloons were given out and adults and kids were having fun with those. Another day there was a water balloon fight, where groups on either side of the volley ball net. Water balloons were flying as fast as anyone could grab one! After that we all got a pineapple with the top cut off and filled with a watermelon drink. Lemons, limes and other fruit made up faces on each one. There were two lazy rivers. One with large tubes for floating and the 2nd you just floated in. The current in the 2nd one really moved you along. There were plenty of water slides for adults or kids. The littles had 4 slides. They would end up in the water with lots of smiles and giggles. The adult one also had several. You had to carry your 2 or 4 person raft to the top and down you came.  Tho we were right on the beach not many ventured out there. They were having an issue as many other beach areas with the seaweed. Just long rows of it all along the beach and it stinks. Even tho it was always quite breezy we never smelled it up at the pool areas. Every night there was entertainment on the outdoor stage with lots of chairs and room to dance.  We left on the 15th and check out was once again a breeze. We had been given bracelets the 1st day we arrived. They were little oval discs that we worn the entire time. You used them to gain entry to your room. Know this is a long review but there was just so much and all of it was amazing. The staff were friendly, helpful, always saying hello as you passed by. There were little kisoks where you could get info on other services but no one hasseled you. Oh and several nice stores to shop in. Would advise taking water floats if you have little ones, as they ran $15.00 and up. And childrens tylenol.....$48.00 for a 4 oz bottle.  I would highly recommend the Royalton Spash and look forward to visiting some of their other resorts. We came from Oregon USA. Customs going into Mexico and back into the US was a breeze.

If you're an adult booked at Hideaway, you have access to the full complex, that side and the family side. Kids, of course, can't go over to Hideaway--which is nice; you can go back and forth between families and semi-loud music and a more quieter atmosphere, in just a short walk. Check out Agave and Taj restaurants; some of my favorite food that I've had at an all-inclusive, to date. I think you'll find the staff is very accommodating and friendly as well. Truthfully I can't say enough good things about Royalton Riviera Cancun; since completing renovations this past December, they've moved up to the top of my list of A-I's to recommend.

This was the most beautiful and relaxing place we have ever been. We got the swim up suite room, and loved it. The resort was so clean and well maintained, the rooms were wonderful, the food was the best we have ever had, the shows/activities at night were so fun, the drinks were delicious, the app was great at navigating the resort, and the pool is kept at the best temperature. The staff was truly the pinnacle of excellence. They made our experience so incredible and much better. Thank you so much Mario for making my husbands birthday so memorable. My only recommendations for guests, is that some of the restaurants have a dress code (my husband hates pants, so we had to buy him a pair at the gift shop), bring sunscreen/sunglasses/wide brim hat/after sun care, and if you get eaten to death my mosquitos bring bug spray. My husband didnt get bit at all, and i got bitten over 40 times. We cant wait to come back!

I'd been to Royalton Riviera Cancun several years ago, but this was my first time there since they completed renovations at the end of last year, and I can happily say that the updated look of the resort is excellent, and the staff among the best of any resort in Mexico. I'm a big buffet fan, and Royalton has one of the largest, most impressive buffets (available for breakfast, lunch, and dinner) that I've ever been to (this was one item I remembered with great clarity from my previous visit, and if anything the buffet is even better now). Staff members Graciela and Angel were particularly helpful. I also checked out Agave, the Mexican restaurant, and the food was superb, as was the service from my waiter, Jorge. And on my last night I hit up Taj Indian Cuisine, with excellent service from waiter Marcelino and hostess Suleman. The appetizer I ordered was so good, I requested a second plate of it. I like the way Royalton proper and the adult side, Hideaway, sit next to one another. It's easy to get between the two, but if you need some quiet and it's too loud by the main pool, you have several other options. I particularly like the small swim-up bar located just around the corner from the louder main pool/swim-up bar. The Hideaway Beach Bar (with excellent bartenders Manuel and Frank) is great for people like me, who enjoy being at the beach but get too much sun very quickly. The lobby bar just inside Royalton is also really cool. Lots of selection, and friendly bartenders like Alberto, Angel, Mateo, and Antonio (I may have spent more than a couple hours at this bar). Alejandro at the Martini Mix bar was also very nice. And Yuriana on the housekeeping staff--I can't say enough good things her and the housekeepers in general. If you want them to, they will do a comprehensive cleaning of your room, including sweeping and mopping the floor, every day. I greatly enjoyed this resort. Their renovations were well done and the staff and food are great. Seaweed is an issue this time of year, in this area, but they've got trucks hauling the stuff away, morning to evening, to clear it up as much as possible. I can recommend this resort without any concerns/reservations.

We had good because it a fun group but the quality of the food and alcohol was completely unacceptable. I didn't have one decent cocktail or one decent meal the whole time I was there and I tried almost all of the restaurants. I've stayed in more luxurious places, including Danielles in Venice. I think I know the CDM secret. It was the lack of people that you see. Nothing and no-one annoyed me here. Even in luxurious places, there is likely someone who will be annoying, or rude or abrupt or loud, or arrogant or whatever. In fact, some of the "exclusive" places have some very arrogant and superior people, and that detracts from the experience. But I don't need to tell you how annoying people can be, do I? Not that people can't be very nice also, but the more people around, the more chance someone will detract from your experience. But when you don't even come across other people (except the ones you bring with), there's no-one to possibly bother you. You go to the beautiful pool, and there's no-one there. Not even anyone doing the "reserve our lounge chairs with towels at the crack of dawn game", when they don't use them till noon. None of that stupid stuff, and no screaming kids doing cannonballs in the pool (not that I don't like kids). The beautiful pool might as well be in your own back yard. You don't hear the adjacent room through the thick walls, and you don't even see other room balconies. The grounds are designed so every balcony is private. No-ones front door is next to yours, or even nearby. You look out over the grounds and virtually no-one is walking around. You go to the pier and it's empty of people. You go to the beach and no-one is there also. You pick your favorite lounge chair location and it's open just waiting for you. The staff here were all nice and subdued and not intrusive, but were friendly if you chatted a bit to them. When they bring your breakfast trays in the morning to your room, they place it in a hutch by the front door and you don't even see them! Look at the pictures I posted. The professional ones are from the CDM website and mine are the others. You'll notice there's no-one in the pictures. Other resorts have to rope off the area to get deserted pictures like those, and when you get there it is overrun by strangers. Not at CDM. When you think of that, you should try to stay here if you ever can, even for a few days. It's actually great value for the money. What an awesome experience. They do destination weddings here, and that probably feels like you rented the whole resort, cause I'm sure the other guests would stay out of your way. I can't think of another place like CDM.

Food was delicious and while we wanted to try all the restaurants, we were told we could not, then we could but then we could not.. The rumor is that it used to be the presidential home in Cancun. Kosher for those that need that. 100% of the crew members were very polite and accommodating.

It was perfect, there were plenty of activities for the little ones and nice shows for the adults. The restaurants consist of several all you can eat and several sit down restaurants. The nicer sit down restaurants, you'll want to reserve in advance and bring some nice cloths. I spent several mornings going to their gym, the coach is super friendly. I took some of their fitness class - kickboxing and physical fitness. The coach does their best to cater towards your physical fitness. I was lucky one morning to be the only person there, so I got a one on one experience, love it! I would definitely go back in the future. Short drive from the airport as well. You should download their app since it gives you all of their information and restaurants, reservations times, etc. Just watch out when you check in and check out, there's some sales folks who will try to hustle you. Just say no thank you. Spend time at the place first, and unless you know you're coming back for sure, just say no thank you.

Ok so Moon Palace is HUGE! I'm fairly new to the all inclusive lifestyle until recently when a few…read moreof my friends have had weddings at these types of resorts. I'm usually more inclined towards an adventurous vacation but there is a time and place for everything. Moon Palace certainly has everything! This resort is only about 10 minutes from the Cancun airport (CUN) and is actually compromised of three properties in one - Nizuc, Sunrise, and The Grand, each with increasing level of "fanciness." You can travel between all three on foot or by golf cart and take advantage of the amenities at each, except The Grand which is wristband access only. Each property has all of the things - swim up bars, restaurants, beach access, lobby bars, night bars and clubs, grab and go food, and more. My friends and I upgraded our standard room to an ocean view room right near the golf cart stop and it was worth it. Getting around the property does take a little coordination and it was nice to have the golf cart stop nearby. The room itself was spacious with a well stocked fridge and hard liquor dispensers but does have a large bath tub in the center of the room which took up a lot of space. I'm not sure who is using these. We got room service almost daily for breakfast and a late night snack and it came quickly and was fairly good quality. The staff were all excellent so definitely do not forget to tip! They of course are gracious for anything that you are willing to offer - pesos and US dollars included. Please, please tip as they all work really hard to make sure that you have everything that you need. I will say that the check in process was a little confusing. When you walk into the lobby at Nizuc, there are several large desks immediately to the left that look like the check in but these are actually the check OUT. Check in desk is actually down a couple of hallways and not well marked. I had to get a bellboy escort me. We also had some issues with our wristbands. Since my party arrived at different times, some of our wristbands got deactivated when the rest of the party arrived. Luckily we were able to help one another out getting into the room and finally got it resolved at the desk. My only real reservation about this resort was the number of young teenagers. Admittedly, we visited during spring break but teenagers they were everywhere! Drinking age is 18 in Mexico but many of them looked like they could be 14 years old drinking at the bars and going to the clubs. Many of them were quite rude too yelling at the poor waitstaff for more drinks, not tipping and not saying thank you.

If you're going to stay here, make sure you let them know when you're going to arrive as there doesn't seem to be a front desk. I called when we got there and we waited for about 10 minutes until Genevieve got there. Not a problem though because I do understand it's not really a traditional hotel. The grounds themselves are beautiful. There's lots of green space, and there's also a little pond with two turtles in it. Hopefully someone is feeding the turtles because when we were there we gave them like 2 whole avocados over the span of 3 or 4 days - them seemed famished. The pool is OUTSTANDING. It's not a traditional pool, there's not really much space to sunbathe, but it felt SO good after a long, hot day at the beach or walking around town. Plus it overlooks the ocean. Our favorite part of the place was the rooftop. Stunning views. Unfortunately the room we stayed in had window that overlooked a tree and a wall. There was a little window at the top of that wall, and no curtains on it, which made for a daily wake up time of whenever the sun came up. BUT, their neighbors started building a wall right outside that window. The stairs they were using to get to their roof were right outside that window, and any of the workers could've looked in our room, and directly down into the bathroom/toilet. I let management know and they came not more than two hours later to measure the window and make a mesh curtain for it. I was VERY pleased with how quickly they reacted to my email. It's unfortunate (and not Layla's fault) that there was a wall built, but I suppose that solved the sunrise wake up every morning. Other than that the room (selva) was nice. It had a little cooktop, sink, microwave, refrigerator, and coffee maker. The refrigerator froze almost everything we put in there, and we were unable to mess with the temperature. They had dish soap, hand soap, and I think body wash as well. Beach towels were provided though they're old and stained. The pillows were mish mash as were the pillow cases. I thought they had a restaurant and yoga classes and a salon, but everything was closed. Overall I'd recommend this place. It's a wonderfully affordable option and the entire staff is nice (I think we interacted with 5 of them; they'd come during the daytime). The views can't be beat, and the quietness of the location really amplified the charm that is Puerto Morelos!!!!

We love this place and consider it our mothership in Puerto Morelos. They serve Bibimbap which is the best we've ever had! This says a lot as we live in San Francisco where there are lots of Korean restaurants. Massages by Marcos are the greatest! Noemi and Steve provide great haircuts and salon services. Jime and Lucio, who are the managers, come up with various music and night activities. Brunch with Jime and Gloria Casanova is very entertaining! Thank you to all the staff of Layla Guesthouse.

I would not recommend Butler's service... if you ever had butler service in the Caribbeans there is no comparison. Our Butlers were Norma, Catherine & Enrique ( who we never met) Catherine visited us twice by the pool and Norma was the main texter sweet but none didn't do very much . Some of our favorite ppl was Efrain the bartender love his sense of humor, the Bell Boy Toribio I believe was his name was very helpful, other than that everyone else was nice but nothing really stood out. We stayed in the new building Marriott Diamond Club 4th floor ... gorgeous room but no body mirror, no iron or iron board, nothing to hang your towels on in the bathroom, the shower floor is VERY slippery it really needs a rail to hold on to. Room service took 1 hr the food was cold. Ate at the Joya 2 days and some of that food was cold too. There is an Asian restaurant in the new Diamond building that no one talks about that is delicious. There is also a bar and pool table in that building as well.

I recently stayed at Dreams Sapphire in Cancun (Puerto Morelos), and overall, I'd say it's an okay…read moreall-inclusive--nothing super luxurious, but not bad either. When we first arrived, we booked a swim-out room, which was nice, but the rooms and parts of the resort definitely felt like they could use some updating. My biggest issue was the AC in our original room--it was barely working, and the first night was honestly uncomfortable. The humidity made it feel stuffy, and I had a hard time sleeping. Because of that, we decided to upgrade to the club/villa section on the opposite side of the resort--and that completely changed our experience. That area is much more secluded, quieter, and feels more upscale. We upgraded to a swim-out king room there, and it was beautiful--much newer, cleaner, and overall way more enjoyable. The private rooftop pool and more exclusive vibe made a huge difference for us. The food was actually really good, which was a pleasant surprise--no complaints there at all. Overall, I'd say this resort really depends on the room you book. If we had stayed in the original room, I probably would've rated it around a 3.5-4. But because we upgraded, we ended up having a great time. Tip: If you're considering staying here, I'd definitely recommend booking or upgrading to the club/villa section--it made all the difference for us.

Everywhere we went, people were welcoming and helpful, which really added to the overall experience. The rooms were clean and comfortable, and there was no shortage of food and drinks...something was always available no matter the time of day. The ocean did have some seaweed while we were there, but the resort staff clearly worked hard to manage it and keep things as clean as possible. One of the highlights was definitely the pool ...it might be one of the biggest and most fun pools we've experienced in Mexico. Plenty of space, great energy, and just an all-around good time. Overall, a great stay with a fun atmosphere, great service, and everything you need for a relaxing getaway. We'd definitely come back.
