    Our broken slider handle
    Kathryn C.

First, let me start by saying that I rarely write reviews...but our experience at the Mia Reef was so bad that I felt compelled to sit down and write a review. We have been coming to Isla Mujeres for 14 years. This was the 3rd and very LAST time we would ever stay at the dump hotel called Mia Reef..go any place else but here!!! We have visited the island 20+ times and have stayed in everything from a $ 26-a-night room on the beach to renting an entire Villa for a week on the southern point at Punta Sur with private chef service and a pool. We are the type of travelers that can backpack around and just "wing it," or we can check in to the Four Seasons hotel and get room service. It's important to know we are NOT bouge travelers. Honestly, one of our best stays was our $26 per night room with great AC, hot water, and clean sheets, but I digress; onto the Mia Reef review. So, let me say that we booked it through the site MiaHotelsAndResorts.com. Our booking agent was Gloria Mex, who is based in Cancun. Here are the FACTS of our booking: 3 Deluxe Ocean View rooms for six nights at $414 a night per room ($7452). Below is the breakdown of what the rooms were supposed to be: 1 room was supposed to be a king bed for my husband and I 1 room was supposed to be two full/queen beds for our sons (grown adult men) 1 room was for our daughter (any bed option was acceptable) So here's what happened on our arrival. We checked in, and the desk agent handed us the keys to 5014, 5015, and 5016, which I found out later are NOT ocean views; they are bay/lagoon views. I asked if they were king beds or what the bed situation was. He replied, "They all have one queen bed each." Cue to my immediate dissatisfaction with that news...our one son is 6'4", and I don't expect our grown adult sons to share a queen bed, seriously?! Anyway, I said it was unacceptable and not what we had booked. My husband immediately started looking on Airbnb because we would not spend a week with our grown adult children and would sleep uncomfortably. After all, the Mia Reef could not give us the rooms we booked. It was a clear case of misrepresentation, and it left us feeling frustrated and deceived. Our room: The guy behind the desk finally acted like he was doing us a favor by giving us a different room; he said, "Oh, I'm giving you a very good room with a view." Well, upon arriving at our room 6003 (with a king bed), I looked at my husband and said, "This is supposed to be our view; we paid for the "Deluxe Ocean View" room to begin with." Moving on, we are in our room. Here are the general issues we had with our room: Bathroom faucet, when you turn it on, hits the mirror. There's no counter space at all to lay out a toothbrush and lotion, and all we brought was a toothbrush and sunscreen, again this wasn't a bouge trip by any means. The shower was moldy and disgusting and leaked everywhere on the bathroom floor. The bottom dresser drawer in the room was in the open position the whole time and falling away from the wall. We took a throw pillow from the bed and closed the drawer by putting the pillow in front of it to keep it closed so one of us didn't break a leg when we walked by at night. The door handle on our slider was broken; how hard is it to take a set screw and an Allen wrench and fix it? Our son's room: Our sons were given a room with two beds, 4023 (lagoon, NOT ocean view, as we paid for). It wasn't until I saw their room on the third day that I saw it wasn't two beds but one full/queen bed with a roll-away cot (twin) for our other son; talk about shady bait and switch-on room reservations. The hotel, in general, is dinghy, dirty, and in need of significant updates and repairs. I wouldn't be surprised if the hotel owner(s) are literally just pocketing the money and living high on the hog while the hotel continues to turn into an enormous pile of poopoo year after year. Outside by the pool, some jerk put diapers in the table thing to hold drinks, and the diapers were there for over three days along with other dirty glasses. There is plaster from the building just laying outside that has fallen off. Again, the fish stinks from the head and if the owner(s) don't put the money back into the maintenance of the hotel, well shame on them! Don't even get me started on the sales guys who linger in the lobby, always trying to get your attention so they can sell you a timeshare. I told them the hotel was a POS, and they left us alone after that. The bottom line is DO NOT STAY HERE. It's way overpriced for what you actually get. AI is NOT worth it here.

Located on the right side of the island and a five minute walk to the town center. The resort is all inclusive -spa is separate. To enter the property you must cross a small bridge and go through security. No visitors allowed. If not a guest, you must pay a large fee to access the private beach and amenities. The rooms are decent. Nothing luxurious but my ocean view was great. (Photo included) Lots of sea bids making noise outside along with crashing waves. The private beach is sandy and the water calm, clear and very warm. Not too many fish for snorkeling and the depth is around knee high for quite some time. There are tables and beach chairs set up to relax for the day. An open bar is not to far away next to the swimming pool and great for taking advantage of the all-inclusive drinks. Unfortunately they tasted a little watered down. I just had the mesero bring me a cup of tequila to sip off of. Definitely not pure. Not worth the all-inclusive for drinks. Only one restaurant was open during my visit. It was buffet style food. In the morning they would make you an omelette fresh, but had a ton of other selections. The downtown area has really good seafood, it would be a shame to just dine here. Definitely not a culinary adventure. The spa had excellent massage therapists, but way overpriced for Mexico. Almost double what I pay in LA area. I like a massage every day while on vacation, so I found some places within walking distance that were pretty good. Depending what you pay and are in to, this may or may not be the place for you. Nice sandy beaches are not that common on the island, except the public one a few hundred feet away in front of the hotel priced about 75% less. I myself enjoyed the security and accommodations. I also came at a time where the public beaches were closed due to COVID. The hotel having a private one, allowed me access. This was a deciding factor that I think has been removed. If I could do again in regular times, I would just stay at a non-all inclusive and experience the towns culture through food and entertainment.

Perfect location, amazing staff, and good food. Facilities could use some work but the location was perfect.

If you plan to vacation on Isla Mujeres, a few night's stay at Mia Reef is a must. The all-inclusive hotel on its own is average, but the beach! The beach is its bread and butter. Mia Reef is located right on prime real estate - with the best views, snorkeling, beach and tourist attraction: King's Pool / Piscina del Rey. The beach along Mia Reef is where ALL of the tour boats and excursions post up to snorkel and swim. If you have kids, this is a great all-inclusive resort because you can sunbath and still watch your kiddo 10-feet away in the crystal clear water just up to their tiny little ankles. They also have a pool, games and activities all day (morning yoga, dance classes, kids activities, nightly kid-friendly performances). Food was okay - my sister and I mainly dined at the ceviche bar. Micheladas were top notch. The resort also has free bikes to rent, which you can take across the bridge and into town for day exploring. Staff was really friendly, check-in is at 3pm; check-out is at noon. They offer room service but it's not included in the all-inclusive. King's Pool / La Piscina del Rey is a nature made swimming hole located right on the Mia Reef property, and you can walk over for a swim. However, due to seasons and the tide, it does close. We were there in October and the pool was engulfed by the ocean, so no access was allowed. Non-hotel guests are able to pay a daily rate (believe it was $75) to access King's Pool and hotel amenities. We rented a premium room with direct access to the beach and our own cabana. My only complaint about our stay was we never got room slippers - which was much needed since the outside humidity mixed with cold rooms creates condensation on the floor (plus sand). If you are NOT with kids, do stay here but I think 2 nights is enough. Do 2 nights at Mia Reef and then a few more nights across the bridge and closer into town for more action. But again, THIS BEACH!

We love Mia Reef. The staff are wonderful. Room is well kept and clean. We became members in 2019. Lots of perks with membership! Spa is so great, best massages we have ever had! The buffet is very nice for the whole family. Very kid-friendly. They had Disney character show one night! Beautiful beautiful beach. We cannot recommend this place enough. We have been to Puerto Vallarta and a few other resorts in Cancun area, but loved this one the best. We go at least once a year. The island is so fun to drive and spend a day shopping. You rent a golf cart. The catamaran sunset cruise is beautiful and we had a romantic dinner one night that was delicious with a beautiful view.

The outside area is a 5 but the room was a 2. The beach the water and the staff was AMAZING!!! The pool was nice and the beach is amazing... the water was the perfect temperature. For a resort the food was not bad, except that restaurant on site that you make reservations for... SKIP THAT. We dined along with at least 3 other groups/couples that left and went to the buffet after. At the buffet the morning omelettes were a winner. The lunch pasta bar was always great. Dinner was always changing which actually was nice. But the room... I could get past the size because our view was breathtaking but being right by the ac units we couldn't really enjoy the balcony because of the hot air pumping from the machines. The pillows were AWFUL. Our shower head moved. (It was in the ceiling, see pictures) Mold around our faucet on the sink. (Pictures) a clear case, in general of redoing a hotel and deciding to cut corners, not patch, and not invest in wood glue.

DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THIS RESORT! Let's begin with how the check in process was. We payed the remainder of our balance which was standard procedure and things were okay. As soon as we were done checking in, the staff was immediately persistent on us (my family and I) to book a "breakfast meeting" in order for them to attempt to convince us to invest in their timeshare (which the owner became offended when calling him out, even though that's what it is). The only reason my family and I agreed to hear them out was to receive a discounted sunset catamaran excursion. We then went up to our room in this super outdated elevator that was basically hanging by a thread and my goodness things went downhill. The pillows were super uncomfortable to sleep on, the furnishing/details were super cheap, our water pressure was basically spewing out instead having a smooth stream, and the mini fridge was poorly stocked. Then, my brother and sister-in-law's room card-reader was malfunctioning and it broke on them 2 days in a row, having to wait at least 30 minutes for someone to fix the situation just to get inside their room. The only good thing about our room was the beautiful ocean view, but even then the amount of birds surrounding the area was revolting. Moving on to the food...HORRIBLE! Literally 1/10 on the food considering the only "restaurant" open all day is the buffet. They have a cevicheria but it was closed during our whole stay (July 2-July 7) and then one other restaurant, Las Marias, that required booking one day before and only open for dinner time. We were able to eat at Las Marias only one of the nights and the food was at best 5/10. To top it all off, there was only ONE bar for the entire resort and closed at 10:30 every night. The entire place was super under-staffed and although the waiters were nice, they were forgetful in bringing our drink orders. When going out on the beach, we constantly had to wait extended periods of time to receive basic supplies that were included with our stay (beach towels, snorkeling gear) due to low resources. This resort claims to be 5-star hotel yet it's anything but that. I will never be staying here again and I hope more people are saved from the horrible experience we had.

The spa was fantastic, offering step-by-step guidance through the dry sauna, steam room, and both warm and cool pools-such a relaxing and rejuvenating experience. The hotel sits right on the beach with breathtaking views and features several pools, including one with a fun swim-up bar. Dining options were excellent, with several restaurants to choose from, including Mediterranean, Mexican, buffet, Asian, sushi, steakhouse, and American cuisine. Our room was fantastic, with a rainfall shower, comfortable beds, prompt housekeeping, 24-hour room service, and turn-down service. We also enjoyed live entertainment and a night club on the property, yet it remained wonderfully quiet when we wanted to relax. We loved the aromatherapy --it was such a thoughtful touch. The location is very convenient: close to a pharmacy, just across the street from a shopping mall with a mix of upscale and casual dining and shops, and only 10-15 minutes from Cancun's vibrant club zone. We couldn't have asked for a better experience.

We checked in on a Sunday around 4:30, and the room was already cleaned up and ready. We stayed in one of the terrace rooms on the fourth floor, and the room was well maintained the whole trip. Housekeeping was really good, and the lady who seemed to consistently clean our room was super friendly. They also do evening turndown service between about 6 and 9, which I liked more than I thought I would. The food was hit or miss. Sea Corner was easily the biggest disappointment. You really have to like ceviche to enjoy that spot. I tried the battered fish taco, which was a really small rolled fried fish taco and honestly tasted kind of stale. The red snapper tostada was okay, but still pretty subpar. Overall, Sea Corner is one I would skip. Ciete's breakfast buffet was decent, but still very buffet. Some of the food had that stale, been-sitting-out-too-long taste, but the omelet bar and fresh juice/smoothie bar helped a lot. They have two omelet bars, which spreads people out, and Marco at the smoothie bar was awesome. He remembered me after my first smoothie and was friendly the rest of the trip. Azure was pretty good. We split hummus and pita, and I got the chicken in red wine. The chicken was cooked perfectly and came on a bed of mashed potatoes that were really good. Dessert was just okay. The baklava was very cinnamon-heavy and almost tasted like a churro. MB was good and definitely felt like their "dress up" restaurant. I had the stuffed chicken, my girlfriend had the veal cheek, and we also tried the filet mignon. The filet was cooked perfectly medium rare, and the meal overall was good. Not amazing, but one of the better dinners there. Hidden Garden was probably our favorite restaurant. We went there twice because it was that good compared to the other options. The samosas, gyoza, chicken satay, shrimp fried rice, and desserts were all really good. The Thao, basically their version of orange chicken, was also really good. The pad Thai was okay, but sweeter than I prefer. Their signature cocktails were also really good. The Thursday night show was a nice part of the trip. They had a buffet by the pool, with a mariachi band from 7 to 8 and traditional Mexican dancing from 8 to 9. The dancing was almost like a theater-style show, and that part was great. The buffet was on par or slightly below par. They had a crepe bar, a grill with pretty good steak and chicken, and a couple decent soups, but a lot of it still had that left-out-too-long, slightly stale buffet taste. The entertainment and activities were a big highlight. Trivia every night was great, and karaoke was a blast once people started getting into it. Pablo hosted trivia and karaoke with Jorge as the DJ, and Pablo brought a lot of energy. Jorge also DJs at Egos later at night, and they played a good mix of American dance music and Latin dance music. During the day, we tried archery, water aerobics, bingo, the guacamole class, casino night, and a self-facial class. Archery was a blast, and aqua aerobics in the infinity pool was really fun. Ricky was a ball of energy, and Jocelyn was really cool too. The activities did not feel like boring resort filler, which was a nice surprise. A few things could be better. Pool towel service closes at 6, even though people are still in the pool later. There is also basically no shade in most of the pools, so you get crispy pretty fast. They also need to be clearer about which pool beds are first-come, first-serve and which ones are paid or for Club Aqua. I saw multiple people get moved because it was not explained well. Communication could be better too. Some restaurants are closed on certain days, probably because the resort was around 50% capacity, but they should give you a schedule at check-in. We planned to try Verana, their Italian restaurant, and then found out it was closed that day. The humidity is something to think about. Obviously it is Cancun, but the indoor areas and hallways do not have much air circulation. Our fourth-floor hallway also had a broken water feature with sitting water, and I think that made the hallway smell more humid and musky than the rest of the resort. The drinks were decent, but I would not go in expecting strong resort cocktails. I drank margaritas and pina coladas most of the trip and never really felt much from them. For stronger drinks, shots are probably the better route. Overall, Live Aqua Cancun was a really nice, relaxing trip. The staff was friendly, the room was clean, the activities were way more fun than expected, and Hidden Garden was a nice surprise. The food is not amazing across the board, the pool setup could be better, and communication could use work, but I still had a really good time. Good resort, not perfect, but definitely worth checking out.

You can travel between all three on foot or by golf cart and take advantage of the amenities at each, except The Grand which is wristband access only. Each property has all of the things - swim up bars, restaurants, beach access, lobby bars, night bars and clubs, grab and go food, and more. My friends and I upgraded our standard room to an ocean view room right near the golf cart stop and it was worth it. Getting around the property does take a little coordination and it was nice to have the golf cart stop nearby. The room itself was spacious with a well stocked fridge and hard liquor dispensers but does have a large bath tub in the center of the room which took up a lot of space. I'm not sure who is using these. We got room service almost daily for breakfast and a late night snack and it came quickly and was fairly good quality. The staff were all excellent so definitely do not forget to tip! They of course are gracious for anything that you are willing to offer - pesos and US dollars included. Please, please tip as they all work really hard to make sure that you have everything that you need. I will say that the check in process was a little confusing. When you walk into the lobby at Nizuc, there are several large desks immediately to the left that look like the check in but these are actually the check OUT. Check in desk is actually down a couple of hallways and not well marked. I had to get a bellboy escort me. We also had some issues with our wristbands. Since my party arrived at different times, some of our wristbands got deactivated when the rest of the party arrived. Luckily we were able to help one another out getting into the room and finally got it resolved at the desk. My only real reservation about this resort was the number of young teenagers. Admittedly, we visited during spring break but teenagers they were everywhere! Drinking age is 18 in Mexico but many of them looked like they could be 14 years old drinking at the bars and going to the clubs. Many of them were quite rude too yelling at the poor waitstaff for more drinks, not tipping and not saying thank you.

We arrived late and asked for bottled water, and were told to just drink the sink water... in Mexico. That alone set the tone. I also repeatedly emailed our concierge for assistance and received no response whatsoever. Our room smelled like mold, and the sheets were damp. Housekeeping replaced them, but the odor and overall condition never improved. Not what you expect at this level. Then it got worse. We had two rooms, one at this hotel and one at a neighboring hotel where a large group of our family was staying. That other hotel requires wristbands, which we had, so security here assumed we didn't belong, even though we had rooms at this property. At the pool, they approached us publicly and repeatedly questioned us, over and over, in front of everyone. No attempt to verify privately, no discretion, just standing over us and making a scene. It was humiliating. Then it happened again. While checking out, we crossed back onto this property to retrieve our luggage that they were holding. Security stopped us again and treated us like we were doing something wrong, only to confirm, once again, that we were legitimate guests. Two separate incidents. Same behavior. The level of aggression and lack of professionalism from security is completely out of control. This is not how paying guests should ever be treated. This wasn't just a misunderstanding, it was a failure in how guests are handled, and it happened more than once. We will never stay here again.

Second visit and another GREAT vacation! We have been fortunate to travel to some amazing…read moredestinations and this place is special. It's fairly new and a lot to love here. But we read a lot of reviews at Yelp, trip advisor, ect, and the reviews are mostly glowing and no mention of anything that could be better. I wholeheartedly recommend this resort, but there were a few things that could have been better. But thus was overall the best AI and we will return. Shootout to an exceptional employee Jhordy at inspira pool who went way above and hope to see next time. Our butlers, Ping Ting and Aline were fabulous.. and will request them next time. They made everything run smoother and got us ALL the reservations at the times we wanted. Def would have not happened w/o a butler. Not intrusive at all. appreciated fuss made for our 27th anniversary . A lot sets this apart from other all inclusives. I feel the food and the cocktails are better and more selecting. We often are celebrating either a birthday or anniversary on vacation, and they always ask at resorts. But then nothing is ever done or said to honor it, which is disappointing. That was not the case here. It seemed every server congratulated us on what we are celebrating. made us feel very special, plus I assume the butlers sent roses and champagne with a big chocolate heart to our room. very much appreciated. It might seem childish, but these dates mean something to me, and I appreciate when they are acknowledged. This is a fairly new resort, and everything seems very clean and well kept. The staff was warm, welcoming, friendly, and helpful. If they were understaffed or having a bad day, they sure hid it. Love the way the common areas and bathrooms smell ... omg you will see. I love the fragrance of the molten brown amenities ..going to buy some. Our inspira swim out room was large, quiet, and luxurious. Well-appointed and lovely. The tub was amazing, but they don't have shampoo and conditioner in that area, and the areas they do have amenities it's locked in, so you can't move it. Is inspira worth the extra? We did it both times. Would not risk being upgraded to an inspire Without the cost. Inspira gives you more access, and I believe a bump in service. If you are fortunate enough to afford it then get it ... if not then don't. In the reviews, I didn't run across many with even minor complaints that they could improve, but there are always things that could be better. I'm gonna put those in the tip area ,so if they want to improve a bit on an already great resort. I love it here and the staff are the truly the best. What signs they have are easy Missed And they don't have a lot of signs directing you especially to area that used to be for families. Personally, I think they wanted to make it harder for the family.People to come over to the all adult area back when it was two different resorts. Now that it. 's all adult I really think they should figure out a way to make it easier to navigate. We didn't know that there was a restaurant that had Buffet for all three meals Until halfway through our second Visit. Well i'm gonna leave some tips In the tip area. Because I don't want this to seem like I had a bad trip. This was incredibly relaxing and luxurious and wonderful. Exceptional staff make all the difference. Mixologists at Calle bar are so fun to watch them create liquid art. No one ignored us and no bad attitudes. I would say one of ... possibly the best all inclusive we have tried in all our travels. Sorry sandals, excellence, secrets, Iberostar u have been out done. employees went above the call bring lots of tip money.

Five star all-inclusive and adults only resort!…read more Newly opened resort about 40 mins from Cancun airport and 20 minutes further from hotel zone. Our reservations was for (7) days and the length of time felt right. We booked two excursions; (i) visit Chichen Itza on a tour; and (ii) visit Playa Mujeres on a catamaran. Chicen Itza is a "must do" if you visit Cancun for the first-time (no question). Following our two excursions it was back to the resort to relax, eat and sleep! The resort has (7) eateries from avant garde, to breakfast buffet, steakhouse, italian, american, asian and pastry cafe. The exquisite culinary cuisines at each restaurant was phenomenal but the steakhouse, asian and buffet ranked highest for me. The bars on property were sexy and classy from the rooftop ocean views, lobby and swim up bars with the staff making our experience special. By far, the sky bar and lobby bar were the spots for me each day serving "top shelf drinks". There is also no need to leave your room if you're hungry, room service was impeccable by bringing your meals in a warm service cart with all the condiments and proper silverware. I highly recommend the New York Strip! There is no denying feeling compelled to stay on property to maximize an all-inclusive, but this is one property I'd have no issues being stranded at. Service is first-class, staff is highly attentive and respectful of your privacy and the resort is highly luxurious. If the opportunity to splurge on a room permits, I'd recommend the swim up pool on the ground floor(s) to enjoy swimming under the stars at night with that someone special, you'll forever remember those moments.

We paid approximately $17,000 for this vacation, so it was disappointing that throughout the resort there were several instances where staff seemed to be expecting additional tips, creating an awkward atmosphere. I understand that some employees may not have known our package included gratuities, but it still left us feeling uncomfortable. We have previously stayed at Secrets Akumal and Secrets The Vine, and both experiences were exceptional. We love the Secrets brand and were excited to try this property. The resort itself is beautiful, well-maintained, and very clean. Some staff members were genuinely friendly and helpful. Unfortunately, the level of service was inconsistent throughout our stay, and we encountered multiple situations where staff members were unhelpful, unfriendly, or simply rude. As Preferred Club guests, we checked in through the Preferred Lounge. One of our rooms had a significant mosquito problem. When I asked the Preferred concierge if anything could be done, I was repeatedly told there was nothing they could do. Only after I continued to press the issue was I told the room could be fumigated. The concierge took down the requested date and time, but when we followed up the next day, no one had any record of the request, and we had to start the process all over again. The food experience was also inconsistent. Our first dinner at El Patio was excellent, but when we returned another evening, much of the food was overcooked and dry. One of the cocktails we ordered was noticeably missing sweetness. We knew this because we had been ordering the same drink throughout the resort. When we politely mentioned it to our server, he repeatedly insisted nothing was wrong with it. My husband suggested it might simply need more syrup. Instead of taking the drink back to have it corrected, the server brought a bottle of syrup to the table. His demeanor throughout the interaction was cold and dismissive. Another disappointing experience occurred on our final morning. My parents went to Market Café for breakfast by themselves and sat patiently for quite some time without anyone taking their drink order. My mother eventually approached a server to ask for assistance. That employee spoke with the server assigned to their section, but no one ever came to the table. My mother had to seek help a second time before receiving service. Ironically, near the end of the meal, the assigned server finally appeared and asked how everything was. The entire situation felt bizarre and completely avoidable. These experiences were surprising because they are not what we have come to expect from the Secrets brand or from a five-star resort. We don't know whether the service issues were related to the fact that gratuities were already included in our package or if there were other factors involved. We would have gladly tipped additional staff members for exceptional service if gratuities had not already been included. While the property itself is beautiful, the inconsistent service significantly impacted our overall experience. Unfortunately, based on this stay, we would not return to this resort.

We had a wonderful time at this resort! I loved every single minute we were here!…read more Beautiful grounds and a wonderful place on earth to be. As long as you are behind the gates that is.... Outside of the gates is a whole different story. It's pretty intense out there with the police being fully militarized. They have machine guns mounted to trucks they stand on and ride around just for the presence, there are tons of people wanting to take advantage of dumb Americans at every turn. Watch yourself if you travel alone in Cozumel. It's designed solely to attract tourists. That draws out some colorful personalities in my experience. Traveled with ease from the oh so lovely Cancun International Airport. Interesting spot to say the least. We were warned not to communicate or accept anything from anyone except our driver. We arrive to the hotel really excited, somewhat cautious, and ready to have some fun. We were greeted at the front door and we handled a little paperwork, and then we were taken to our room by a wonderfully helpful chap. He showed us around the room, gave us a quick run down of the grounds, described the amenities, food situation, and some other pleasantries. He talked about the dining situation and gave us a map tour so we're would know how to navigate the grounds. They have a cool locker system in each room. The service folks just leave your anything in the locker and you don't have to interact with them at all. They just let you know it is there. Nice feature. The grounds themselves are absolutely gorgeous! It is so well kept, the attention to every detail goes so far beyond a normal resort. They comb the beach every morning. I kid you not. They seriously rake the entire shoreline before dawn. They also run a tractor to clear the seaweed from the beach. Insane dedication to making your stay great. The restaurant situation is so fucking rad. They have just about any food you might want covered between the what seemed like a dozen restaurants at the resort. I ate and ate and ate and ate.... I ate between meals, I ate between those meal and snack times. We had so much food!! Every dinner was 5-8 courses. I'm positive I could stay right here forever and never leave. Food heaven!! Spa is great too! It's a lovely relaxing oasis of self care. That's another review, but it's great. Don't take my word for it. Go for yourself! Cold plunges are good for the soul! They have shows every night in the theater and there was some sort of event being held every night in the common area. Some were private, others public. They construct stages, eating areas, weddings, happy hours with bands, and even corporate conferences. It's pretty wild the amount to building and tearing things down the do here. We rented a cabana bed one day and at the end of the day the built and transformed the beach into an elaborate engagement spot with candles everywhere, flowers, and a table for two. Very nice touch! All in all a fantastic experience. My only gripe was that the room smelled of mildew and/or too music moisture. C said something about it when we got there but it wasn't that noticeable to me. When I got home and unpacked my suitcase is when it hit me. There were clothes that I did not wear, just sat in the drawers and repacked, they all had to be washed as they smelled terrible after being packed and transported back home. I would come back monthly if possible. Nice place. '26 - 74

We chose this resort for our honeymoon expecting a romantic, stress-free experience. Unfortunately,…read morewhat we received was misleading, disappointing, and poorly handled. We paid for a Junior Suite Ocean View, clearly confirmed in our reservation. What we were given instead was a Junior Suite Tropical View with no ocean view at all -- not even partial. This is not a matter of interpretation; it is a clear mismatch between what was sold and what was delivered. From the beginning, the hotel was aware this was our honeymoon. We did not expect special treatment, but we did expect honesty and follow-through. Other honeymoon couples received gestures and attention; we received none -- and more importantly, we didn't even receive the room category we paid for. After reporting the issue, we were told the hotel was "fully booked" and that management would "look into it." Days went by with no resolution. Eventually, a supervisor explicitly offered a partial refund for the room category difference and a one-day beach cabana as a gesture. We accepted this in good faith. At checkout, the supervisor was suddenly "in a meeting." We provided our card details to another staff member so the refund could be processed. After departure, we followed up multiple times and received absolutely no response. No confirmation, no email, no refund, nothing. To be clear: * The food and general service were fine * The beach is beautiful * But selling an Ocean View and delivering a Tropical View is unacceptable, especially for a honeymoon * Offering a refund and then going silent is worse This experience seriously damaged our trust. A resort that markets itself around romance and special occasions should do better -- or at the very least, be honest and responsive. We would not return and cannot recommend this property based on how this situation was handled.
