If I could give this place a minus 1 star I would! this place is the worst, worst spa I have been! Bought a groupon -series of 3 reflexology massages- WORST ERROR! 1. Arrived and receptionist was having a long a personal conversation on the phone. After waiting for a couple of minutes she looked at me as said "I will be with you shorty" with an aggravated look kind of like "b!tch don't interrupt me" y'all know what I'm talking about...well I waited for the receptionist to finish with her business. Unprofessional and Rude! 2. Sat down in the sofa bed they have in the reception area and almost had an accident when I sat down because when you sit on this sofa you can literally touch the floor with your behind! really?! 3. While waiting I observed the manicure/ pedicure techs and they looked like they were doing a good job and looked nice too but....no massage chairs instead the clients had their feet soaked on a bucket with a trash bag...also something that caught my attention was this tacky picture of what I believe are the owners of this place. (i added the pic on the co's profile)...ok, really a spa is supposed to have a relaxed decor not a picture of these ladies trying to look sexy. Tacky! 4. Walked into the massage area and the tech was really nice, but....no chair for reflexology massage, no hot water on the feet, no pressure points touch as the reflexology massage dictates? really, I'm not a fool but a knowledgeable massage (specially reflexology massage person) who knows the different between a foot rub and a reflexology massage. Liars! My conclusion: The personnel at this place is nice except for the receptionist of course, but it looks like the owners are trying hard to make money advertising stuff once you pay that they do not provide . They definitely tried hard to cover all the flaws and inconsistencies this place has by painted walls and having chandeliers (with broken light bulbs of course) but 5 minutes in this will convince you that you will not want to come back ever again! read more

It all began so innocently.. Upon reading my daily Groupon email a deal for a Mani/Pedi caught my eye. I clicked 'purchase' within minutes and was happy to know that a little extra pampering was a mere appointment away when the mood struck. And struck it did, I called My Secrets Spa on Wednesday of this week to request an appointment but when I arrived at the spa this morning I was turned away because of an operator error, apparently my appointment was scheduled the morning before the day I showed up. As I spoke to the girl at the front desk (and apparently the only soul in the salon at the time) her smile quickly turned to attitude as she insisted that the salon had not made any mistake... that I probably got the dates confused. She almost had me convinced that it was a date error on my part (even thought I would NEVER schedule an appointment at 10 a.m. on a Friday because of my job) until I furiously began driving away. Thats when the conversation I had with the 'appointment-taker' when I first called suddenly rushed into my head with perfect clarity. It went like this: Me: Hello, I'd like to make an appointment. MSS: Sure, what will you be having done? Me: I have a Groupon for a mani/pedi so I'd like to use that. MSS: The Exotic Fruits Mani/Pedi? Me: Yep. MSS: When would you like to come in? ME: Do you have anything Friday around 5? (Because I work in the morning) MSS: No, Sorry..we're all booked up. How about the next morning? Me: What time do you have open? MSS: 10:00? Me: Ten is great. MSS: Alright Christina, (took my number) See you then! I have made many appointments in my day, at several different establishments; you name it... hair color, hair cut, manicure, pedicure, waxing, tanning, massage, aroma therapy, highlights..the list goes on. I realize that it is possible, since we're all human beings, that every now and again there may be a slight error in appointment times with these places. Out of all the appointments I have ever made I've only experienced about 4 minor appointment goofs.. all remedied the moment I arrived, as any organized, professional, and legitimate business would do. I myself work by 'appointments only' and on rare occasion things may overlap... but as I know from FIRST hand experience.. you need to take care of your bread and butter. Customer Service is key. Period. The salon was completely empty when I arrived. After the mix-up was noted I asked if I could be squeezed in (noting the completely empty salon) and was met with a snarling "No". Then she kept talking in circles and every time she repeated something it was more exaggerated then the first time she said it: 'I called to confirm'... 'I called twice to confirm'... 'You're appointment was yesterday'...'we all waited a long time for you yesterday'... 'we were all confused as to where you could be yesterday'. I just left and plan to get my money back from Groupon on Monday... I will never set foot in that salon again. What a complete waste of time. And what makes it worse??? I came here with a groupon for a reflexology massage. It was nice of them to honor my groupon even after it was expired (well not technically as I called them to schedule an appointment and they did not have anything until after the expiration date so they just let me take that spot). I received a call a few days before my massage confirming it for a "neck and shoulder" massage. I called them back to make sure that they were wrong as it was a reflexology massage and I was really looking forward to it as groupon rarely has these. They assured me that it was a mistake and I was still on for a reflexology foot massage. I arrived to a super sweet receptionist and equally sweet masseuse. However, even though I really feel bad to write this, the massage was not good. I was laying down on a massage bed and I knew that it would be pretty hard to give someone a good foot massage while they are laying down. Nonetheless, the pressure wasn't there, the technique wasn't there and it just point blank wasn't good. If I didn't buy a groupon for this place, I would have been agitated. Horrible! Stay away!! I never got to do my nails. 1st time: I made an appointment for July 30. I show up, apparently I did not have an appointment and the 1 lady was "booked" (though the place was empty). 2nd time: I CALLED them to confirm my appointment (let me mention that the answer the phone with "hello" like I'm calling a house). To my surprise, I was not in the books...again! After being transferred 2 times, a lady just put the phone down where I heard laughter and plenty of loud conversation. I kept saying "hello, hello!" Buyer Using a Groupon Beware! I purchased the Mani-Pedi special and because of my job could not use it during the week. Everytime I called to make a Saturday appointment was told everything was booked. I was suspicious since the appointment clerk had not had enough time to check her books. At my last call I was told to come in, but by the way, I would have to pay the regular price because the date on the Groupon was expired. When i protested, she told me it was my fault for "waiting so long" and that she didn't make the rules; just worked there. Very unprofessional, and very sneaky. After reading other customers' comments on the quality of Sectret's services and to the customer service I was given, I would NEVER recommend this business to anyone. I guess after reading everyone's review I don't feel so bad myself. I purchased the manicure/pedicure GROUPON about a week ago and have called them several times to try and make an appointment, left a message and no success. Today, I decided to drive over to Secret Spa as I walked in it seemed very quiet and peaceful so I was happily thinking I would be seated right away for my mani/pedi. WRONG! The staff that was available only spoke Spanish, no biggie since I am bilingual but I feel that it is very unprofessional. I was told that there is only one manicurist on staff and she is completely booked for the next week and a half. I was furious! As the other staff struggled to take down my information and try to make an appointment for me I looked around at the "SPA" nice decor but the manicurist was working on a women's feet in one of those home pedicure bucket things. THAT IS NOT A SPA FEEL! I seriously just want to get my money back from GROUPON. I am not excited about going there at all. read more

My father in law owns an office in the building, so I'm always in the shopping center. Since I have been dying a get a facial for so long now, I decided I would do it at this spa. I walked in one day, asked for pricing, and if they could schedule me for that day. (Mind you the place was empty, except for a girl getting a pedicure) The girl answered no and laughed as if that that possibility was inconceivable. She didn't even ask me if I wanted to be scheduled for another day, so I left. I went back a few weeks later and decided it was a perfect day to get a facial so I walked in and asked if they could schedule me for any time, and she said they were completely booked. Not only did she give me attitude, the other girls who worked there were looking at me and laughing, as if they were too good for "walk-ins". Not only were the "specialists" doing nothing at the front desk, they were snobby. She told me to call her in 45 minutes to see if they could squeeze me in. She didn't even get my name or number. Why the hell should I call them?! On both occasions I left feeling as if my money wasn't good enough for their crappy, stuck up salon. I would never go there again simply based on the horrible customer service I was shown. Thankfully, my father in law told me of another spa in the exact same shopping center. I walked into the other one and was welcomed super well. The lady introduced herself and offered to squeeze me in (even though on the door and sign it states "By Appointment Only"). On top of that, the place is so incredibly decorated that I completely forgot about my bad experience downstairs. Wow... sure wish I would have read the unflitered reviews for this place before I bought the Groupon. I went in for my ONE HOUR European Deep Cleansing Facial and ONE HOUR Swedish massage today. And what is with the whole Taxes & Tipping thing? I won't reiterate what other people have already mentioned, but I was taken aback by that. I don't know how these people define 'European' or 'Deep-Cleansing', but the facial I received was neither. I could have done a better job in my own house and had a more pleasant experience... and saved myself the time. My ONE HOUR ended up being 35 minutes... because my 'aesthetician' showed up late. I know this because I saw her walk through the front door 20 minutes after my appointment was supposed to start. 15 minutes went by of this lady slapping various creams on my face with no rhyme or reason... and then roughly wiping it off with what felt like toilet paper. I felt like I was an inconvenience to her. Then, she put what I would only assume to be the mask on my face (however when I touched it, it felt like nothing was there) and left, saying she would return in 10 minutes. Ten minutes turned into 20 min...(Note to spa - if you want to provide an actual SPA experience, try filling this time with a hand/foot massage, or a scalp massage... and maybe some music and ambience to drown out the sound of people talking and laughing right outside the door... especially if you expect your clients to lay there for extended periods of time) The best part was... she had me put on a pink zip up type spa outfit, as I only assumed my facial and massage would be in the same room. Nope... after my "ONE HOUR" facial, they led me to a different room for my massage. And to get to this room, I had to trek from the back of the building, all the way through the storefront/lobby area where they have their mani-pedi chairs and reception area wearing nothing but a little cotton pink thing, clutching my belongings, feeling totally embarrassed. My massage was fine, this lady was excellent. But the overall experience was just unpleasant. This place certainly has a lot of upgrades and adjustments to practices to make before they are considered to be anything remotely spa-like. read more

Services at My Spa are DEPLORABLE! First of all if you have a Groupon, don't even dream of getting a weekend appointment. It took me months to finally get an appointment with them and it had to be during the work week, therefore having to take a day off from work in order to use the Groupon. To make matters even worse when I got there I was told I had to pay for taxes and tips before services were rendered. Also when time came for the last part of my Groupon, the mani-pedi portion, I was told it would have to be re-scheduled because there was no one there to do it. I reschedule and after getting my mani/pedi I went to the front desk to get change to leave a tip and the girl in the front desk was the rudest person!! she even told me that she did not care for costumers like me, that don't have money (when all I was trying to do was get change for a $20 and she didnt have any) When you have a "spa" who depends on costumers and you tell me that they don't care about costumers and that they can find a million people out here so they do not need to keep a costumer happy or even be nice? Secrets and Spa you have me in a loop. First thing, I bought this coupon on Groupon, I purchased it because one it was a good deal and two it was very close to home. Purchased for myself and my boyfriend. We walked in and were treated very kind woman in the front offered us coffee or tea, took a cup of green tea to warm me up.Next up I went in for a Manicure and Pedicure while my boyfriend got the facile. The lady who did my nails was very nice but not so good at her job. Was not able to wash hands after the manicure she just applied the base coat right over the cut skin. It was horrific!!! If i had just gone for the manicure I would of given this place 1 star. Then we went ahead and switched, i went in for the facile and he went in for the Mani Pedi, it was a " mini facile" the woman was very nice and explained to me what products I should be using on my face, very relaxing, except for the part I had to " rest " for 15min no resting there as they played no music and can here all the conversations within the walls! That was horrible for me! Moving along, we then both got our 60min massage. This is what I was looking forward to the most! It was good not GREAT but good. We both enjoyed it and were able to close our eyes and relax as this room was secluded and by itself. Over all they were nice and worth the 60bucks for all these things. To start this review off the presentation and interior design is very appealing. The pictures posted on here are out dated. They have revamped the place. I was introduced to Secrets Spa salon by Groupon Deals of which to my misfortune. I made two appointments for the same day just about an hour apart for both me and my sister. It seemed as though it was a ghost town as soon as we walked in. At first not a soul was there but myself and my sister. We sat and waited a bit until the front desk person arrived, who seemed to be getting off a personal phone call on her cell. She did not speak the least bit of English. Which is nothing new living in the Miami area. We were about 20 minutes late for the first appointment due to bad location, if it wasn't for the fact that there isn't any other plazas for blocks we wouldn't have been able to find it. We quickly explained that we had simply got lost but were finally there and ready for our mani-pedi's. It was strange.. The front desk lady said she would take care of us as soon as we filled out some forms with our Groupon Code etc. As we started filling out the forms with merely our names on it. She immediately started going on about how her other employee went on break and won't be arriving until an hour and she could not take care of us due to other appointments she had two hours later that afternoon, giving us literally every excuse in the book on why she couldn't do our mani-pedi's that particular day. Worst part of it all, she said she would "call us back" to make a new appointment when they had an opening. Instead of making one right then and there while we were physically standing in front of her. To be honest we walked right out with not another word. It was the worst customer service I have ever had at a salon. Shockingly, only because what customer service based business simply declines money just like that? Makes no sense. I hate the fact that Yelp filtered my very honest and trust worthy review. I don't see how so may negative reviews got filtered (there are like 16 others) that also got filtered. I also see where the business went out their way to compliment a rave review (which I am guessing probably IS fake) but didn't address any of their other customers concerns. Beware of this place. Also, I didn't note that during my visit only one person spoke English in entire spa. If you do not speak Spanish you will not be able to communicate with most of the staff anyway. I have never had such a horrible spa experience in my life. I was lucky because Groupon refunded my money and gave me a credit because of my crappy experience. So, I saw the reviews for Secrets Spa on various sites and they were all kinda negative, saying that they have really bad service/empty/treat grouponers cold/etc... Then I get a text from the woman who does my hair that she has changed salons and that I should go to get my hair done at her new place - she sends me the address, but no name, and I head over - the place is beautifully decorated and furnished, and of course Susy (who does my hair) does an amazing job - the salon has laid out free coffee and breakfast and it's all around an AMAZING experience... HERE'S THE PROBLEM: I noticed while I was being pampered and smiled on and given coffee by all the employees, that three women had come in and though each of them had gone to the desk with a paper, they were all just sitting on couches... and when I left an hour and a half later, THEY WERE STILL SITTING THERE! So I asked Susy what was up. She said there was only one tech to do any type of facials or massages. That's when I put two and two together: omg, this is SECRETS SPA from GROUPON!!! So, I went to the front desk and asked the lady there, "Hey, if I brought in a groupon, would I be treated like them?" - now, she didn't speak much English, so there were lots of "could you say that again? what? ummmmmmmm, I don't know what you mean" - but what she eventually answered was "the people who come in with groupons are a different kind of people, you know? not like you". do I need to say anyhing else about them, ladies? yikes!!! :( not nice! read more

Well, lets just begin by saying worst damn customer service. I also have a groupon for the mani/pedi( the deal was great so i purchase two) anyways my groupon will expire next week. I waited for the perfect time to use it, ,so i decided to call to schedule an appointment, I called at least 10 times on Friday no answer, I woke up on Saturday called at least 5 times again no answer, i thought they were close but I said let me drive over there. Drove from Pines to miami Lakes. First when i walk inside only 1 customer were there, they lady at the front desk said nothing to me so i walk up and presented my groupon she told me you need an appointment, I explained that I called all day yesterday and prior to driving over. She then told me to wait for another worker, she walk over and kindly said to me i have nooo appointment availabe from now until next week and you need an appointment. I told her to check caller ID and she would see that I called. She kindly said to me that theres nothing she can do because I didnt call. and they are busy and there phone rings every 10 minutes with two lines, how the heck that my phone call werent answered with two lines and two receptionist. Moral of this story customer service is by far the worst that i evre encountered. My hair salon is busier than these people and i can walk or make make appointment and i know i will be seen. I have gone to Secrets Day Spa four times -- twice for facials, and twice for massage. Overall, the experience there is outstanding. The rooms in the back are restful and- really beautiful job with the decor. The staff is all very friendly and skilled. I was especially impressed with the massage therapy skills she gave me one of the best massages I have ever gotten in my life, and I've been getting massage for years. I was extremely impressed with her! The spa is clean and uses high end products. Other pros are the nice personal pampering touches, like the fuzzy robes and slippers you get into when you arrive, and the foot soaking welcoming ceremony. First Experience: I found it odd or not exactly spa experience for my pedicure to be done with my feet in a bowl of hot water instead of a normal jet experience that keeps the water hot. The bowl is metal and water gets warm/cool in 5 minutes. If they continue with this type of pedicure (which I don't consider spa grade) then they should get ceramic bowls instead of metal to retain the heat. This type of pedicure kind of reminded me of what you would do at home, but the technician again did a great job on the cuticles. The feet scrubbing is very brief, more like a quick buff. Second Experience: I am a big spa / service person. I spend a lot of money on these services; especially through Groupon. Therefore, I have some experience with the business practice of salons / spas. So when I called about 5 days in advance to not cancel, but to reschedule for a date further out, I was informed they would do this for me one time, but the next time I would have a $25 charge. I was really surprised because it was more than 48 hours' notice and it wasn't a cancellation, but a reschedule. They explained to me that "they are a spa" and that this is common practice. First of all, this is not common practice in my experience and second of all, I decided right there I don't care to do business with a company that might risk me owing them $25 if I need to change an appointment. We were both friendly and I didn't argue, but the practice is a ridiculous business practice because they may not realize the new customers they will lose for this practice alone. The customers that I did see come in, seemed to have a close relationship with the people there, so this may be a big word of mouth or community business. Third and Last Experience: I walk in to get my service and the front desk lady requested that I come back to the desk as I was waiting for my service. I went to the desk and she informed me that I had to take care of taxes and tip. I was baffled and actually insulted. *( I was in the service industry for way over a decade, making my living on tips. I love Groupon because I can pay less for the service and leave a larger tip, depending on my experience.) I explained to her that I tipped on each visit prior. She said ok and then let me sit back down. After the service, I told the wonderfully nice and awesome nail technician that I need to get some change ($). She smiled and said ok. I went to the insulting front desk person, who broke my $20 and then asked me to wait as she went and checked about me paying "taxes" on my last of 3 visits. First of all, if this was required, it should absolutely be done on the first and Not the last visit. When she returned she asked me not to worry about taxes and then insulted me Again by asking straight out if I was tipping the nail tech. First of all, I have never been asked this by any salon. Second, she should use her freaking brain and put her common sense, if she had any, to use and realize that this is usually why people ask to break a bill ($). Throughout this exchange I kept my mouth shut and words limited because I did not want to cause a scene, but this has been on my mind for days now and I needed to write a review because they insulted and embarrassed a client in front of other clients for absolutely no reason. I am not sure what type of clients they usually pull in that they have to have the front desk person to get a tip from each client for their service, but usually that is absolutely none of the front desk person's business. Also, if that is something they feel absolutely necessary to monitor (which would be ridiculous), they need to do this in a less insulting and conspicuous way, and should have a note system in the computer so that the nail tech can document the tip each person leaves. I will not return because I won't be insulted again and prefer jets with my pedicure. I absolutely loved the Nail tech. She is extremely thorough and friendly. She really goes after my cuticles and is probably the best nail tech I have had in a long time. The massage was mediocre, the 30 mini facial was only a face mask the lady applied without steam and walked away for 15 mins came back took it off and that was it BUT it kept getting worse. The Mani pedi was not a MANI PEDI. It was just nail polish application. The girl didn't soak my hands or feet, no cuticle was removed. This place is a rip off. I was very disappointed. read more

How can you be booked for every Saturday for six months for a mani/pedi? Also had purchased the massage - this was a joke! Save your money and go somewhere else! I had a horrible experience at this so called spa. I went with my mom and the staff was super rude and unprofessional to both of us. I asked a question about what was included in my groupon package and they were so rude and defensive. This one lady so called co-owner was the worse. Any questions you ask she would get upset and give us an attitude. At one point, my mother was uncomfortable and asked to be repositioned and the lady stormed off going on a rant about "sick" people with disability and saying how such people should not be going to a spa. No body tried to placate the situation, it was horrible! On top of it all, they don't really know what they are doing, the manicurist forgot to put the base on one foot, the lady doing the massage didn't know where to start and the whole time she is talking to other people in the room, how exactly am I suppose to relax like that??
