Found this cocktail bar through a friend and immediately made a reservation after seeing the menu…read more The ingredients are complex but intentional, with East Asian influences. I found myself wanting to try most of the cocktails, which is a rarity. We got the Strawberry Tetsu to start (inspired by Uncle Tetsu's Japanese cheesecake), along with the Cloudy Oolong (tea-based cocktail with a salted caramel cheese foam). The Strawberry Tetsu tasted like a dessert and was delicious, with a graham cracker crumble rim. The Cloudy Oolong had a strong tea taste which I loved, as sometimes the tea can get lost in a cocktail. The foam on top was addicting and paired nicely with it, similar to a bubble tea. Next, I had the Burnt Yuzu which was light and refreshing from the citrus. The bar is hidden behind Misfit Ice Cream, with a speakeasy vibe to the interior. Large windows line one wall with a view to the exterior, but are tinted enough that people walking by cannot see in. Service was great, although they do have a strict 1 hr 45 min time limit for seating, regardless of whether the bar is packed or not.

Not going to lie, we had trouble finding the entrance, even after looking it up online, but it is through the shop in the corner of that block and through a vending machine door. There was already kind of a line waiting in the shop on the side, so we did not order the #8 to get in. It is dimly lit and has good music playing, but the area inside is on the smaller side. The drinks are on the expensive side but the drinks are higher quality. The staff was also very nice, they provided phone chargers for us when our phones were about to die.

Was very cold with a touch of orange and came with show of a long pour which was fun. They have their own vodka and gin they use. 5 stars - Menu: sweet/dry, light/spirited quadrants mapped out on the front page Also a sketch drawing of the drink so you can see what type of glass you'll get and colorful pictures on the side to set the mood. - Spicy nuts: good yet dusty but bonus for having hazelnuts. 4 stars Midlights: - Can get on waitlist if full and can text you (note: was full even early afternoon on a Saturday) - Wanted to try more food like the beef sandwich or french onion soup but we were in between meals Lowlights: - Took over 30 min to get our first drink after ordering which was odd at a hotel of this caliber. The next ones did not have the same wait time which was good.

The Coolest Speakeasy in Toronto!…read more I'm on a dating tour and I'm currently listening to my therapist (my bestie) and dating them ALL! (Best advice ever, highly recommend.) So when this handsome fit fella said I bought you a ticket to come see me, I said I'll see you soon! Because Ladies the last man I dated said he was the best I'd find, and that he was a good catch. Good catch alright, I caught him left and right texting desperate women who wanted to see him. Ladies have HIM! He's good for a meal, that was the advice I got when I first started seeing him and I didn't listen! Shout out to that Yelp angel who I didn't listen to! He's is no prize, you were right! That's for sure! You've seen my pictures, talk about UPGRADE! Now let's talk about Prequel! While on a first date my new honey pot (yes they all get the same name) decided to take me all over Ossington. He lives in walking distance which is way cool! For our pregame we walked into this little upscale shop or so I thought, he said table for two. I was looking around confused and then voilà a distinguished gentleman appeared from the hidden door! Sooo cute! Upon entering this dimly lit enchanting room you see leather chairs and a place where honestly I could come to daily. I wish this was my neighborhood watering hole. Now this was NICE! Our bartender was awesome and made our drinks to perfection! My pictures of the drinks are picture perfect! Love this place and definitely returning when I come back to see this handsome man! (He really is. I know y'all don't trust me. lol I promise no more large men.) Till next time! Perfect date night vibes, highly recommend! Yelp didn't attach my original pics but there are more! They are beautiful too!

So many…read morebars have a theme, but this is one of the few where it actually carries through every part of the experience. From the entrance to the interior and even the drinks themselves, everything is thoughtfully curated around the apothecary concept. The cocktails are all creatively themed, which makes the menu fun to explore. One of my favourite things to order is the warm olives with bread. They're simple, but so good that I usually end up (embarrassingly) asking for extra bread every time I come... If you're looking for a bar that's as much about the experience and atmosphere as it is about the drinks, I'd definitely recommend here.
