Came here as part of a bachelor party. We did the tunnel tour and the historian did a great job explaining to our group of 10 the different types of whisky and tasting notes. He made reasonable suggestions for us to try that were not too pricey. We didn't stay too long but also got some wings and Parmesan truffle fries before leaving. Food was tasty so overall a really positive experience to start our night. I'm not a whiskey guy myself but would recommend for whiskey lovers. read more

Hands down one of the best lounges in Downtown Toronto for the service, ambiance, and price point! The lounge is 25+ and dress code is dressy. CC lounge is a great place to go clubbing at if you're looking for a club with actual service and a more upscale experience. It has the perfect amount of crowd but is not packed like sardines, which I really appreciate, unlike some clubs where you're constantly being shoved around a sea of sweaty people. I booked bottle service here 3 times this year and every time has been a great experience. The price point was a lot cheaper than other hyped clubs in Downtown Toronto, the service was superior, and you actually get treated like VIP (unlike many other Toronto clubs where you throw down a few grand and still get treated like a peasant). If you book a booth they also give a bracelet for unlimited bar rail drinks to the person celebrating that night or whoever booked the booth. The bracelet is good for that night only and you can have as many drinks as you want through your server. A free food platter is also provided to the table around midnight, the food is actually really good and consist of sliders, grilled cheese, and fries. CC lounge is definitely a hidden gem! If you're looking for fairly priced bottle service, and a great clubbing experience with actual service then this is the place! The one star is not for quality of the drinks or food, nor is it for the bar selection. The one star is for the terrible, rude service I received when I walked in and sat at the bar. I walked in and was immediately hit over the head with that nasty smell of cheap cleaner and glass washer chemicals. There are what feel like hundreds of drink options, but no price anywhere on the menu. You have to individually ask about each and every selection. I find this extremely frustrating and irritating as someone who doesn't have an extensive knowledge of every spirit on the menu. Not to mention, the staff can essentially charge whatever they feel like in the moment. When I asked for a ballpark idea of what a glass would cost, they were very rude and dismissive, and would have to double check every detail with a manager or colleague. I ended up walking out and will not return. There are many more upscale and friendly options in the neighborhood. Skip it. read more

I have now had two great experiences with CC Lounge & Whisky Bar and their amazing service! The first time was several months ago when we stopped by as part of my 50th birthday extravaganza. We pretty much had the place to ourselves and CC Lounge treated us like royalty! We got several complimentary birthday shots and got to tour the "tunnel" without the usual cover charge. They just had a great attitude. Based on this first great experience, I just ordered their wing special through Skipthedishes...this includes 1.25 lbs of wings and 1.25 lbs of fries! The wings were cooked properly and were nice and crispy. But the bigger part of the story was the sauce. Since not all their wing sauces are listed on Skip (I always check websites first), I requested their "hottest" and CC was kind enough to send me a few samples, including their Ghost and Scorpion based sauces at no extra charge. This is the kind of thing I appreciate. It's not the small amount of money I saved on the extra sauce, but rather the thought about giving customers what they want to make them happy. And this was very consistent with my first experience of getting complimentary birthday shots. A lot of places out there are too petty to do such things but thankfully CC Lounge "gets it." Nice atmosphere, and good variety of whiskeys. Upon bringing us our flights, our waitress informed us that the ones we selected were trash (way to sell your products). The dishes were just frozen store bought finger foods, which were very underwhelming, and did not pair great with quality whiskey at all. Overall, I would definitely return in about 20 years, as everyone there was 55+. Sidenote, the crowd was very strange. It's a great place to hang out and dance without going to a full club. Here's why it's a 3 star: they automatically add 18% onto your bill, regardless of party size and they don't tell you about it when you pay so if you're not watching your bill, you'll tip 36%. My friend and I wanted to start right by ordering Drake's highly popular whiskey, Virginia Black. This whiskey was vanilla smooth; that's how I explain it. It goes down smooth, has hints of vanilla, and doesn't have a major burn to the tongue. It's actually great tasting. Our bartender was super cool! Came for happy hour with some girlfriends visiting from out of town. It's one of the only places in the neighborhood that seems to have happy hour on Fridays, which are from 4-7:19. The ambiance inside is SUPER cute and trendy but don't feel obligated to be especially dressed up if you're just coming for after work drinks on a weekday or something. The cocktails are strong and made with yummy ingredients. Not your typical rum + coke kind of happy hour. The cocktails are speciality drinks but I believe you can also get wine and beer as well. There's bar seating and huge booths for large groups, but the booths are nice and intimate as well. I had the sour (their take on a whisky sour), Harlem sunset, and Kentucky mule. The Kentucky mule was probably my favorite followed by the Harlem sunset. Clearly it was a whisky night for me. Food was tasty as well. I had chicken wings and fries. Ended up ordering a second round of fries because they were THAT good. I would have given this place 5 stars but there was some weird stuff happening with our server and the way they tallied up our drink totals. At the end of a 20 minute ordeal I feel we still may have even been overcharged one of our drinks. It was a mess. And likely the result of her trying to handle too many tables at once and not keeping track of who was ordering what and from what table. There was no line up, no cover and best of all....free coat check!!! Scorrrrre! The average crowd here is late 30's early 40's but still dressed to impress. Although it's call a whiskey lounge, there are plenty of bottle service booths and decent amount of space to dance with a DJ spinning top 40s. There is no dress code here but I wouldn't recommend showing up in running shoes and ball cap. You will stand out. Lastly, don't be discourage by the sound of whiskey lounge, they have plenty of spirits and cocktails to tickle your fancy. I loved this place pre-covid and brought many people here. I went tonight and was shocked how this place has gotten so expensive and rude. As you can see from the picture, 6 drinks cost over $100 and the bartender didn't even mention he added 18% gratuity. This was for six long island. They were super strong, but not super tasty. Backstory: earlier I asked for my gin and tonic to be replaced with a gin and soda. I won't go into details, but I wasn't happy with the response and bar staff were super rude to me after. On the hunt for cocktails we were waiting for BarChef to open and D.W had closed for the Holidays. We stumble in here and are surprised it's dead, even more surprising is how clubby it looks and to be dead was even worse. Free coat check was a nice touch, DJ up front just sort of vibing to himself and in his own trance with only 4 other people here besides us and staff. I wasn't sure if it was pin drop quiet because the DJ didn't want to drown us out (thanks for that though) or if it was simply quite for no one being there. I didn't really notice it was a Whiskey place at first, just that I wanted a proper cocktail, tired of seeing nuclear cherries, old vermouth. I was actually in the mood for something a little outside their fortified wine selection so I adjusted for a more brown, bitter and stirred narrative. I ordered negroni while I mulled the menu over. It has a very club/lounge feel with a 2 room split, chandelliers, but also a strange bird cage which we were invited to pose in. We also got the whiskey tunnel tour along with the noted local figures from their prohibition flattery. No real history dating back to the era, it's merely a carved space behind the bar in the back with some bars. Bathroom is right in the middle, sort of small assuming this place actually fills up. The staff was incredible. Attentive, answered all my questions, chatted with us for a bit, but not in that sort of bottle girl "here let me pour this and help you drink it" sort of way. The bartender gave us some advice on our other cocktail travels and we bonded being cocktail nerds. The Brussel sprouts were good, maple in Canada is common, not too rich. The proscuitto wrapped item was super duper rich, like too much to take. Nachos had great plating and was certainly not bar food, the avo crema was ok seeing as Canadians don't know what guacamole is. I prefer fresh jalapenos as pickled are too bland. The $40 10 piece chicken bucket sort of threw me off, very odd to pair, but they do a Triple pairing for whiskey, cheese and chocolate. JP Wiser is really popular in Canada. I had my old fashioned made with no muddling, old forester. Solid, the cherry garnish is house made and not nearly as sweet as luxardo. They like mixing gin and whiskey, so the bootlegging bastard was great, so was the bimbo, but again I chose no muddling. I went Left hand instead of Boulevardier which is that negroni-esque split equal drink. By now I was quite ready for more drinks and BarChef had opened, we bid adieu and our bill wasn't that bad considering I had 5 drinks, apps and was with 2 others. I felt like the Laga 12 was overpriced. I expected more Japanese. I had a great time overall, but decided on 4 stars for the little things. For a place this size you should really have 100+ whiskies and be more knowledgeable about them. I was sad to see bottle prices of CR Black/Rye, Canadian Club. Like those are well drinks and who buys bottles? Too clubby. The American Whiskey selection was pretty standard. Solid Scotch selection. Kavalan Soloist Sherry was a real treat. Had dinner and drinks here for a friend's birthday. Nice decor including an enormous birdcage and suspended swinging chandeliers. Arrived at 8, and aside from a party in the back half of the lounge, I was the only one there. As the night wore on though, it definitely filled up. For dinner, I thought about going with the steak and frites but ultimately settled on the cheese and charcuterie plate. Nice selection and variety with that dish. Really enjoyed it! The highlight was the guided tour of the whiskey tunnel. Learned some interesting things and levelled up whiskey game a little bit too. Service was a bit spotty at times. Our group had some difficulty tracking our server down at several points in the evening. Settling the bill was a bit of an ordeal as well, as it took a lot of time to track down a machine for those of us paying by credit/debit. From what I gathered from some of the folks working that evening, this place is still in its first few weeks of being open. I don't get West of Yonge often) We had the lobster nachos which were fabulous. I loved every bite. We also had some old fashions - also very good. For a fancy place this was not too expensive. My view is it's actually nicer than Pravda and at very least just as nice as DW Alexander. It's bigger than the later by quite a bit. Great staff. Daily specials, worth a visit. read more

My boyfriend and I were visiting from Buffalo and came here to get out of the freezing cold and snow, and use the WiFi for an Uber while we grabbed a drink. The decor was unique and dazzling but still inviting, and after seeing the food menu we ended up staying for dinner, and then came back later the same night for some dancing! This place was awesome for both. Drinks: Yummy and strong! The Baby Vamp was a perfect sipper, and the Electric Cure was a good dessert cocktail and super boozy. They also have this signature apple pie shot that went down too easy and was topped with cinnamon. Food: The brussel sprouts on the appetizer list are amazing. My boyfriend doesn't even like brussel sprouts, and he really enjoyed these! We didn't have the buffalo cauliflower, but apparently it is also popular and the fact that the bartender told us it came with bleu cheese, as it should, these are automatically the best in Toronto. Ranch does not belong on buffalo-flavored food and all the other restaurants serve ranch... yuck. We also got the fried chicken sandwich to share which was delicious and filling. Dancing: Taryn was our bartender earlier while we grabbed dinner and drinks. She is down-to-earth and just awesome, and she gave us all the great recommendations for food and drink, so when we were leaving she told us to come back later when it picks up, because of the great DJs and burlesque dancers. So, we did and we had the best time. Some people might think having burlesque dancers is extra and cheesy, but they weren't at all. I'm usually generous with my praise, so I will start with the positives: CC Lounge & Whisky Bar (CCLW) had an excellent selection of international whiskys at reasonable prices. However, based on my first experience there, I will not be returning. I ordered the Canadian whisky flight and the double cheese burger. By 7:14 (timestamp of the the first pic), I was enjoying the flight. The burger didn't arrive until 8:15 (timestamp of the second picture). The fries were good and hot, but the burger was barely warm, and the bun was charred. I was offered a free shot as compensation, but 4oz of whisky on an empty stomach had already taken its toll on me. I declined and was not offered any other option. It was early on a Friday evening, but there were few patrons when I arrived -- moderately more by the time I received my food. I'm sure CCLW will continue to be a popular spot. I could see this place being slammed on the weekends. Our table tried a variety of their whiskey cocktails. Some were better then others, but that's personal preference. The food was tasty, but portions were small for what you got. I ordered the fried chicken "big plate " and I only got 3 tiny pieces of chicken and a few pieces of tomato and watermelon. I was still hungry! I turn ordered dessert, that wasn't very good. I got the brownie with ice cream (very icy). Not the best. My sincere recommendation would be to AVOID THIS PLACE if you're looking to let your hair down after a long day at work and to kick start the weekend. Me and my friends were there on a Friday night (Oct 26) celebrating a birthday. After taking a few pictures on my phone, I put it down on the table near the cage to take some pics on my friend's phone. My phone was gone when I turned around. I knew it was stolen because it was abruptly switched off when we tried calling. The bouncer and the server couldn't care less about the theft that had happened on their watch. The server told me they'd contact me in case they found my phone by the end of the night. Since then, I have been following up regularly to see if they have any camera footage (because I know the exact place and time when this happened), but the manager who has access to the tapes hasn't been available for the last two weeks. If you are like me and want to really relax without a care on a Friday night, this place is not worth it. read more
