We were looking for boat storage in the Valley Springs area. We called Secured Self Storage and the lady was getting ready to go to Lunch. We said "we are out front" she said " Come in I'll postpone lunch". We did , she showed us a covered unit and we took it. We went to the office provided the necessary information, leased the space, she took us back, we put our boat in a 10x25 unit. Fit perfectly and we were on our way. The place is looking sharp with bright new paint! It's so bright and welcoming considering the dull, dry landscape of Hwy 26 in the summer. The manager is so helpful and easy to work with, and the maintenance guy always offer a smile and a wave, and will even stop what he's doing to help someone move heavy or cumbersome items... It is nice to know that the safety of my belongings is not only a top priority, but that there are still friendly and helpful people out there! read more

Rented from this company in valley springs for about 2 yrs. During that time I moved from a 10x20 to a 5x10 and had no complaints or issues with staff or management. They always treated me well and helped out as much as they could. The only down side ): They know they have rats/mice. They have you sign a notice they are NOT liable for damages. So I'm not writing this to complain but to let people know that the problem is much bigger than it seems. We emptied our unit today and found that a lot had been ruined beyond repair due to rats/mice. Anything fabric was shredded to dust, tents, chairs, toys, papers, so boxes (cardboard and plastic) do not work here, rats chewed right through everything except our metal tool boxes, still found poo n pee inside tho): also EVERYTHING was covered in rodent pee and poo, all our camp cooking gear was rusted in urine. Yuck.. Great place to rent, a little pricey but you get 24 hr access. Just prepare to replace a lot of items or use heavy duty Tupperware. read more

I don't get these good reviews! It's as if they were staged by the new management! Our unit was broken into & no police report was filed(not even considered!) & We were urged not to file! When we try to discuss the subject the manager cuts us off rudely, & acts as if it's no big deal or stuff was stolen! As if we were bothering her by inquiring as to our stolen irreplaceable belongings! Wouldn't she take it personal if anything was stolen under her watch! To the point of sleeping by the gate at night or at least checking the cameras or the log of who entered the gate the particular night that a break-in occurred? Secured Storage, what a joke! Her recourse was simply to throw another lock on our unit & tell us to check it at our nearest convenience, and didn't investigate the theft at all! Like keeping you your things safe wasn't her main priority! Her lack of concern is astounding! It reads of an inside job! & Upon reading these reviews that state that 30 units were compromised & no disclosure of this activity was made when we signed up for this & payed our money for the unit! We would have been better off digging a hole beside the road & burying our stuff, at least we would still have the money! And wouldn't feel as if we were scammed! There certainly must be a pattern of who entered the place when these thefts occured that any simpleton, with the least bit of effort could figure out! And we live a big distance from Valley Springs & haven't been able to check our unit & since no attempt to beef up security has been made, I am most certain we will have nothing left by the time we return! read more

Don't waste your time. Rental policies are ridiculous and mechanical. No customer service or going above and beyond for customers.

I recently had a storage unit at Secured Self Storage, at 351 Highway 26 in Valley Springs. I would highly recommend their facilities to anyone. It is the cleanest, most professionally run storage units I have ever seen. The employees are very concerned with keeping your possessions safe. Also, Rosemary, makes the best jam ever:}.
