Upon commencing service I explained I don't engage in such one-sided contracts as theirs. We both agreed I would pay for service bi-annually. When I called to cancel in May, because I was moving, they attempted to bill me $41 for an additional month of service I didn't want and did not receive. But they have spent the past six weeks or so trying to extort $41 from me - money I do not owe them! They have informed me today they have sent this to "collections"......over $41 I do not owe them. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. THE SERVICE WAS MEDIOCRE, AND IN FACT THEY MOSTLY DID A POOR JOB! In 2019 I bought a doorbell camera from them and paid to have it installed by them, only for it to stop working a few years later because the y partnered with a different company, necessitating an entire replacement!!! GUARDIAN IS HORRIBLE!!

Jody was great helping me with our initial needs and the techs that came out to install the system were professional, willing to answer all of my questions (numerous times until I understood), and very knowledgeable about what they were installing. Another thing that was very important to me was the response time for the call center to contact me when the alarm went off (accidentally numerous of times). It was quick. Within seconds. Thankfully they were false alarms but I knew if I had an emergency they would be quick to respond. AND the call center in US based. The previous person who left a review talked of the contract and not having their money reimbursed. Note that the person broke the contract and didn't have to pay the additional year that really they could have held them to. I'd say that was pretty generous. My experience is that they will work with you if something out of the ordinary comes up - an unexpected move so on and so forth. One thing I don't understand is Yelp shows only one review but if you click on the "reviews not recommended" you will see other reviews and they are all 5 star. (March-Sept 2025; they had already paid for 2.5 years) They acted as if this was helping us both out. Then Trent would tell me we will be there on a day at a certain time without asking me first. I had to tell him 3 times that didn't work for me and he couldn't just tell me when he was coming. Once they showed up unscheduled at 7:45am and he texted me that the tech was here. I was leaving for work. 3 other times a tech, Zach, was supposed to come and didn't show up. The front door sensor was broken so it was silently setting the alarm off which wasn't even armed so the police came and multiple times we had to call them off from coming. Jim Anderson, the owner reached out to inform me that if I didn't pay, even though we never had service or even set the alarm, he would be turning me over to his attorney. I explained the situation and even sent him texts proving all this. He said they didn't do anything wrong and asked if we could reset. He didn't care about us or that we were told lies, misinformed, or were trying to help the previous owner not be penalized even though they moved 6 hours away! He has told me I'm not honorable, I'm not following through, and that I will be paying his attorney's fees and costs. Buyer beware!!

I've set it off plenty of times...especially at the beginning...and if I don't get that alarm off pronto, they are calling me, my husband, and then kids in that order... Never had to reach the cops. Once I was home alone and my alarm went off...scared me to death...they called and I kept them on the line as I tiptoed towards the door it said was ajar. It had been the walk door of the garage,and my husband didn't close it good and tight...the wind had blown it open, tripping the alarm. Just very pleased.
