I do not recommend this locksmith. The proprietor is not just discourteous but downright rude and frankly dishonest. When I called to ask if they could replace the lost key for a motorcycle I was told if I brought the bike in on a trailer it would take about a half day and cost no more than $40, and I could park the bike inside their gate. When I got there any idea about parking inside the gate had been forgotten. When I went to pick it up he charged me $75. When I mentioned our prior phone conversation he barked at me that he'd said it would be $25 if I brought the ignition switch or $75 if it was the whole bike. When I suggested he must have had that conversation with somebody else I felt like he was about to escort me from the premises. The grumpy old man act worked in the short term since it got me to shut up, pay, and leave. But I will certainly never bring him any business in the future, and I cannot strongly enough urge potential customers to patronize any other locksmith in Humboldt County. I have used a few of them and found them all to be courteous and fair. This guy clearly resents still having to work at his age or something but he should know better than to take it out on his paying clientele. read more

I'm sorry there's no zero star option here. I was frankly amazed to see any positive reviews of this business after the experience I had this morning. I went in to have a key cut and could not believe how rude and condescending the man who "helped" me was. I left without having him do the job. I will actively not recommend this business in the future. Go to Humboldt Lock & Safe if you need specialty key work.
