We were lied to or misled about pricing at every step of the process. When we called to ask for a quote to replace an OEM car key, we were told $20 for the service call and $225 for the key itself. There was zero mention of any additional fees or charges, so we scheduled service. We were already waiting for an OEM key to be delivered that we ordered online for $120, but we needed something quick. On their arrival I was out of the house for work, the technician said he would have to check if he can even program the key, but that the total would be $20 for service, $175 for an aftermarket key fob or $375 for the OEM fob, $225 for labor, and an additional programming fee that he didn't share at the time. He left to start looking into things, and my wife and I decided it would be best to pass on the service since everything was so much more expensive than we were told when we scheduled the appointment. At this point, my wife went outside to find out he had already programmed a key, and the technician said he would be happy to also program our backup key when we got it. She let me know, and we decided if they would program the other key it might still be worth it. That's when he finally shared the programming fee with my wife, which she still hasn't told me because she's so upset with herself for being taken advantage of. It was over $250, I know that much, bringing the grand total to a minimum of $670 for what we were explicitly quoted would be a $245 bill. At no point did they offer any hint of what the actual total cost would be. My wife is kinder than I would have been, and accepted and paid the total. In their infinite generosity, the technician assured my wife she wouldn't have to pay the credit card transaction fee since she paid in cash. And to top it off, she realized after he left that the fob doesn't even come with an actual emergency key - it was just the fob. These locksmiths are scummy, dishonest, and intentionally misleading. Had a horrible experience with a very small lock on my luggage that the Atlanta TSA bag inspectors caused. I used Security lock service in October 2024 and the man couldn't give me a quote over the phone. When he met me he ended up charging me $350 for just a regular key (not a fob) I ended up paying it not knowing any better about how much keys cost. The man who helped me told me that if I came into the store a few days later he would give me a fob for $15, as if I were getting a deal! So I paid $345 for a key and a fob. The fob didn't even have a working remote start, trunk button, or horn. The only two buttons on the fob that worked were the lock and unlock button and I was given some lame excuse as to why it wouldn't work. Needless to say, I wanted a fully working key fob and Feb 2025 ended up calling different lock smiths and found Bill owner of Smart Home Locksmith (405-868-5934) who gave me a brand new FULLY FUNCTIONING key fob for only $105!! I contacted security lock service and asked them about unlocking my house. I was informed they could do the work (10:30 pm on Sunday night). I then asked how much would I be charged and she told $19.95 to show up and $ 49.95 for the work. I thought that sounded cheap considering the situation. Upon getting entry into my house I asked how much I owed and to my surprise he stated "$ 325.00 cash or 375.00 if I used a credit card. I then called them again and spoke to the lady and explained the situation and the final price. I informed the lady I was very surprised at the price and asked if that was a normal price. She was hesitant to say much and suggested I call accounting tomorrow and discuss. I the explained to her the quoted price was no where near what I was quoted. I further suggested if this is their normal price policy she needs to provide more information to clarify there pricing. I will call tomorrow and see what accounting has to say. if I could give them no star, I would my son lost his car key so we got a hold of this company to get us a new key. The car was broke down prior to this, but we couldn't figure out anything without a key. A service technician came out and got us a key. It looks like a plain key but I don't know their companies descriptions on the keys with button or without. the lady I spoke to over the phone later in this mess said the technician charged me to much in her opinion‍I asked for a key with a chip in it. The technician said it did so my 17 year-old son used his $225 for his key. I don't really know what happened with the key in the car that it wouldn't work. The technician told me that the antitheft lock light needed to be on after all said and done we got everything going. I called him back out to reprogram the key. he came out. It still didn't work so we sent the car to the dealership. the dealership to the car wanted paperwork about the key. It was neither compatible to my car and it wouldn't work. They said no! the dealership cut me a key that works. I had to pay $349 for the dealership key including the 225 for a key that didn't work. paid for them to deliver their services they Didn't deliver nor will they give my son his money back. All I'm going to say is I came in looking to make copies of 5 separate and different keys, they could only copy 1 of them, they didn't have the others. How is this a full service lock and key then? They didn't even have letter or number stamps (like engraving) to differentiate all my keys. I went out of my way to go to a one off, help support, but ended up having to go to Home Depot instead, what I was trying to avoid. They did have a lot of car keys tho. read more

The girl on the phone who scheduled my appointment quoted me $25 per lock for 6 locks, I confirmed it would be $150. Once the tech finished he charged me $85 lock. I explained what I was quoted and he did reduce it to $75 lock, but that was $300 more than I expected to spend. That is very poor business and I would not recommend them. My partner called them and the lady on the phone said a locksmith would call us back within minutes, and he did. He confirmed our address and was at our house within 25 minutes. I was shocked how quick everything happened and thankful because we had just went grocery shopping and had perishable items that needed to be in the freezer. We asked about how much & the dispatcher said $20 fee & $45 trip charge but anything else depended on what the technician has to do. I believe they sent a man named Adam to help us, who arrived in 15 minutes, opened the lock with a credit card, and then told us we owed him $225. Not only is that an extremely unreasonable price, but he was also made aware that we have two dogs, which almost escaped after he carelessly swung the door open.
