I purchased a P69 pilot generator (1950-001) and gas valves (710-502) for our apartment unit wall heater from Security Plumbing in mid-October 2025. Our handyman installed the parts shortly afterward. Unfortunately, since the installation, the heater has continued to malfunction, and I have already had to call a technician multiple times just to temporarily get it working. As of 5/28/26, the heater stopped working again, and now I have to replace the same parts once more. I returned to Security Plumbing with my receipt, and an employee named Ran provided me with the manufacturer's information for Robertshaw along with their phone number (800-304-6563). When I contacted the company, the representative stated that they were unfamiliar with Security Plumbing and could not assist me. I then went back to the store and spoke with Ran again, who advised me to contact Steve at the store. After several phone calls, I was finally able to speak with Steve, but unfortunately he was very rude and disrespectful during the conversation. I am very disappointed with both the quality of the parts and the level of customer service I received. They do have a wide selection of stock items and they manage the back stock behind the counter which can be helpful to fine that item you're looking for, but prices here are high and they won't tell you pricing over the phone. The two times I've called ahead they are "too busy" to tell prices. Drove to this shop both times to get in-person pricing. When on-site they quoted prices that were almost double Anawalt and Home Depot. I'm a big supporter of small businesses but this one seems to just not do customer service very well. read more

I was looking for a seat and spring combo for my leaking shower head handle. It is an off brand design and no company markings can be seen anywhere on the unit. Every store that I went to did not have it but most of all, none of the others offered much help, if any. But DAVE at Security Plumbing went above and beyond to try and help me out. Not only did he try to match up different parts that he had in stock, but once that wasn't working he was happy to talk to his suppliers and other store locations to try and get the correct part. Although we were unsuccessful at finding it, the amount of effort this store and their employees went trough to find my $2.99 part was unparalleled. Life savers! Short version: they had a hard to find part that I needed immediately. Got me in, gave great service, and a great price. Long version: Our less than a year old European faucet started leaking HORRIBLY sending water pouring out from underneath the sink. Huge mess. A plumber came out, identified the hose as the problem but cautioned a replacement part might be hard to find. He recommended this store. I called, they said some on down, and then Dave the store Manager spent time looking through all their stock to find the best replacement. He was so kind and upbeat and positive which meant a lot because I was just imagining being without a useable kitchen sink for weeks while waiting for a part to be shipped- with 2 small kids at home in the middle of a pandemic. The part worked and Dave is basically a super hero who prevented me from doing more damage to our wood floors by leaving puddles of tears everywhere. Dave- Thanks so much! I just picked up an item for my 20+ year old faucet not sold in any hardware stores in west or downtown LA. I almost gave up and replaced it but I had sentimental reasons for wanting to keep it. These guys are legit and no nonsense. Very helpful and professional. Tbh, I don't think they give a rat's ass what reviewers think of them here including my review but if you treat them with respect they always give it back. These guys and the buisness is awesome. After visiting 4 other stores around town, I stopped by Security Plumbing and they found new faucet handles to replace my obsolete ones, that worked beautifully for me! Dave was super patient and explained exactly how I was to replace the handles myself and gave me a little lesson on how that faucet system actually works. Went in looking for 2 feet of abs piping. They would sell me nothing less than 10 ft. I bought it thinking I had no choice, but my next stop at Orchard Hardware to buy more fittings (which the people at Security could not help with), OHS not only cuts pipes but had shorter leftover pieces you could buy as needed. I went back to Securtiy 15 minutes later to return the 10 foot 4-inch abs and he, the owner, would not take it back. Said they would not be in business if they did. Btw, OHS is still in business and they offered returns on everything. I told the owner at Security to keep the abs 10 foot pipe without giving me a refund as I did not want to throw it away and if he felt morally okay about reselling it, go ahead. I told him it wasn't about the $23, it was the waste. He was okay with it!! Hope he's happy. read more

I own a 1932 house in Rancho Park with 3 baths. One of the baths has original pedestal sink and tub. Keeping them from dripping is often a challenge because of the worn stems and seats. Although this shop is geared for professional plumbers and contractors, they are always helpful to the DIY guy (yours truly), with only the occasional jibe but otherwise helpful attitude! I was looking for a replacement stem for the cold water faucet at the bathroom sink - older model standard white enamel oval sink, standard two-knob faucet fixture. I went to OSH, and it took the assistant close to 10 minutes to try to match and find the right stem, and even then it didn't look exactly the same. I stopped by Security Plumbing Supply on the way back, and the owner/clerk found one that matched after looking for about two minutes in their stock shelves. I installed it, and it fit and is working well. I'm glad I stopped by Security and am very satisfied with the experience, even though it was for a simple stem. I recommend it to anyone working on plumbing tasks and will be going back. The store in on Pico Blvd, just west of Barrington, not noticeable from the street since they have large areas of wall with brand names painted on them. The is a small entry door from the sidewalk, but it seems that most people, esp. professional plumbers, come in from the door leading to the parking along the alley. The setup of the store is old-school no-nonsense, you walk up to the counter and ask for what you are looking for. read more

But he told me it would take a week to get a part for my shower and there was no alternative to cap the water so the rest of the tenants in the building could get water??!! In LA??!! Come on, we should have same or next day delivery of any hoysehold part in LA... Then I asked him for the number and repeated what I heard them say it was and he said that was not the correct number and it wouldn't work in any other store! I almost asked to purchase the manufacturers listing number from him but he walked away to quickly shaking his head and uttering something. Don't buy here if you can help it. I stopped by to pick up 2 new valve cartridges for my American Standard bathtub fixture (I didn't have a part number). I don't live near a Home Depot or Lowes. I figured they would charge me a little over what a big box hardware store might charge (which I found out later was $16-$18 each). The list price price was $29 per valve and they charged me $31.50. Not happy and feel like I was ripped off. P.S. I would take it back, but they charge a 25% restocking fee...not worth it. read more

I had to go buy some valves that was missing for my vanity installation. True the guy helped me order what I needed (hence the three stars), but it was not a pleasant experience by any means. I may not know much about hardware, but isn't that the whole point of customer service? The person helping me talked to me as if I were a three-year-old.
