I just didnt have a good experience. When they understand your needs and listen they are capable of good work but getting to that point was most of the problem. They really didnt seem to have a grasp on what order the procedures needed to be done in to the point that they seemed more concerned how best to use up my insurance. They will tell you anything you want to hear to get you in the chair and they tend to deceive by omission which would be understandable if they were just starting out but Dr. Kate (what am I 12?) Said she has been doing it 15 years. Well thats time enough to hone your whole craft, the business aspect as well as the medical part ... I heard her husband is worse. This office was super neglectful of my grandmas needs.. they had no problem doing a cleaning for her but "didn't have time" to take care of the problem and pain she went in for! 83 years old, a cut up tongue and mouth for 3 days in pain, waited for this appt and they let her leave without ANY help.. went to a different dentist office, same day and they were able to shave down the metal (which was previously asked for) and gave her medicine for her all the cuts she had. I went in last week for a cleaning, and had a crown this week! I had a great experience, and plan to come back again in the future! The front desk girls are great, they were nice, and checked me in quickly as they knew I was on my lunch break. Aubrie was my dental hygienists, Dr. Nisha was my dentist, and I *think* Stephanie was my dental assistant! (I'm sorry if it wasn't Stephanie) Each of these ladies had a great bed side manor, and tried to make sure I was comfortable!! I haven't been to a dentist who provided a topical numbing, before giving the actual numbing, and I thought that was really cool!! Also, this is slightly embarrassing, but I think these women deserve the praise, I gag easily, and I'm sure that can be difficult to work with when your hands are in someone's mouth, and I'm sure it is also annoying!!! But they did not seem annoyed, or bothered. They were calm, and soothing, and tried to make me as comfortable as they could. When I felt like I was having difficulty breathing, they took the time to ensure me that I was in fact breathing (LOL), and made adjustments to make me more comfortable. I appreciated that they heard my concerns, and tried to remedy them! I interacted with other staff members, who I did not know their name, but they were all kind and welcoming. I would definitely recommend Sedalia Dental!!!! I've been going to Sedalia Dental for a few years now and routinely for the last 2 years. The lobby is always clean and tidy and is very modern looking. They have a few toys for the kids and TV's for the adults. They even have a Kureig for those coffee and tea drinkers. Brittney always greets you with a smile and is extremely efficient in moving you back to a room. The hygienists are always very sweet and listen to me when I tell them about the issues I have with my teeth. My teeth are extremely sensitive and they always do a fantastic job of setting my mind at ease and being gentle throughout the process. I've had the most experience with Dr. Katie and Dr. Nisha. Love my ladies! Again, the doctors are super friendly and always smiling. They listen to your concerns and address them appropriately. The only thing I wish the office could improve on is when you need a little additional work done...something beyond a cleaning and a filling...that they would take the time to review the procedure and the costs etc... I can sit and nod my head and act like I know what they are telling me...but mostly it's because I don't want to slow down the check in/check out line and I don't want them thinking I'm silly for not understanding. Dr Shah? Greatest ever, she made me comfortable and was really concerned with the finished product and not just getting me in and out. No matter how nice the staff are (Some just make me feel like I'm a lowlife) the end product isn't useful to me unless it's just for looks. I can't eat with the front 4 teeth or they pop out. I can't floss the front 4 teeth or they pop out I have to be careful doing normal things with my teeth or they'll pop out. So, they want me to pay thousands of dollars for teeth I can't use. Have you tried to eat a sandwich without using your front teeth? Try it. So they have been nice to me and Even though I had given them a way to pay they've not done so. I also wrote a previous review and a staff member told me to change it. They have my (Unusable) teeth so of course I did so that I could get my teeth in. Then when I realize how my teeth are I'm changing it back. read more

Thoroughly impressed with Sedalia Dental. Was a bit nervous about having my teeth cleaned as I have been forgetting to schedule my routine 6 month visits, but the office staff, dental hygienists and dentist could not have made me feel more comfortable or at ease. There was a personal flat screen TV on the wall to distract me during my cleaning, and it was over before I knew it. Plus the hygienist was very knowledgeable and gave me some great tips to keep my dental health in check between cleanings. Dr. Aaron was great, very gentle during the exam and explained everything carefully when he found a (small!) cavity. I definitely will be going back to Sedalia Dental in 6 months...they have a system set up to automatically remind you when it's time for your next cleaning, which will hopefully prevent any more cavities! read more

I am severely disappointed after my extraction. It was apparently done by an independent contractor (dentist who is all over the city), making it virtually impossible to get an aftercare appointment. The staff has been useless in this regard. I now have a bad case of dry socket with subsequent infection. I have been on the treadmill of trying to get treated for my problem and getting the runaround. Stay as far away as possible. I hate the dentist. Well that me rephrase that, I used to hate the dentist. Then I found Sedalia Dental. From the first time I called the office I felt completely comfortable. Callie, Monica, and Maddie are all wonderful at the front desk. They work hard to make sure you not only get an appointment time that works for you, they also help with everything insurance related, I had no idea what I was doing with pre determinations and such and Monica made sure that everything was taken care of, even calling an old office and my insurance company for me. At my first appointment I was very nervous as I always was at the dentist, but once I got back to the room (which was amazing, all of their rooms have tvs that you can control during your appointment and the chairs are super comfy and they'll give you a pillow if you want) Haley (one of the assistants) got right to the point with taking xrays and talking with me about my fears. I brought a whole page of questions in and she took the time to answer each and everyone thoroughly just to make sure I was comfortable with what was going to happen. Dr. Aaron also went over each question with me and is the nicest and most caring dentist I have ever met. He makes sure that you get the quality and care you deserve. During my extractions Hillarie offered to hold my hand without me having to ask. She picked up on how nervous I was and knew I needed a helping hand to get through it. And she and Haley were both there for each of my appointments which made me more comfortable as I felt like they knew me and didn't judge me. After I had my extractions done he even took the time out of his night to call and check on me to make sure I was okay and handling everything alright. Not many dentists do that anymore. Once I received my new smile the ENTIRE office took the time to check out how I looked and that meant a lot to me. At Sedalia Dental you're more than just a patient or an invoice. They treat you like a real person and make sure that you are taken care of. The people that have complained about the wait time, I never had to deal with more than a 10-15 minute wait in the waiting room and honestly? I would rather have a longer wait time and be treated as well as I have been that have a super short wait time and feel like I'm being rushed in and out without my concerns being addressed. It's like having a family devoted to your smile. I will recommend this office to every person I know, family and friends a like. I even take my 2 year old son there for his dental needs and I plan on staying there for a long time. All in all this is the best medical setting I have ever been in. read more

I went to Sedalia Dental to get my teeth whitening. I am the type of person that hates going to the dentist, so this was a very big day for me. When I walked in, a very nice lady greeted me. She could tell that I was nervous, and she went above and beyond to calm me down. When the doctor brought me into the exam room for the procedure, Dr. Katie was extremely gentle and careful. She made sure to take her time as I was nervous and made sure I was OK before moving to the next step. The fact that Dr. Katie actually cares for her patients is something that you don't see with doctors anymore. Finally, when I looked in the mirror and saw my new pearly whites... i couldn't have been happier with the results! This is probably the most unprofessional dental office I've ever been too and as with Keep their bedside manners were horrible. We have a family of 6 and we purchased their "discount plan" due to not having dental insurance. Well let's just say it wasn't very discount. I took two of my children for 2nd opinions after being told that ALL of them needed numerous work performed only to find out the 2 they said had numerous cavities and needed $$$$ worth of work done didn't need much done at all... I felt like i was in a place that just wanted the money. Very sweet, welcoming and not to mention good looking staff. Good looks and hospitality did not make up for experience as a dentist. I went in because I have a groupon for a whitening. Before they could do the whitening they had to do an exam, after doing the exam they found a cavity, they then had to fill the cavity in order to proceed with the whitening. I was pleased with the whitening, it was the filling that I had done that was the problem. Not only did they not get it right the first time, leaving little jaded bits that scrapped my tongue but they didn't get it right the second time. I had to go back, get the filling removed and then refilled and sanded down again. The sandpaper floss was really uncomfortable. After the second attempt, I still wasn't 100% satisfied but at this point I don't think most people would be eager to go through the entire process a third time. I have had cavities and fillings before. My assumption was that taking care of a cavity is standard work. By this time I didn't think it could get any better and I just got use to filling instead of going back a third time. So here I am 6 months later, seeing a new dentist and the first thing he asks is where the heck this filling came from because it's falling out and poorly done. Thank goodness I made the appointment with the new guys when I did because the filling Sedalia did fell clean out while I was routinely flossing and brushing. I had to get an last minute appointment, take time off of work to go to the dentist and now I could possibly be looking at a root canal. So not worth the whitening. I wish I had my tooth back to how it was...without a gaping hole. I definitely would not refer anyone that needed to get any sort of serious dental work done. read more

nice clean place , nice people, but here was my experience. i had not been to the dentist in 20 years, why u ask i just couldn't afford it . once i had insurance that covered dentist i looked for 1 by me to finally get my teeth taken care of. day 1 the dentist was trying to get money out of me , oh your insurance is good but it wont cover their better way of doing things but for an extra $400 he will do it the better way. so ok i can understand what he was saying there but i haven't been to the dentist in 20 years cause like i said i could not afford it. the dentist tried to "up sell" me on a few things, finally he figured out i was not purchasing anything else and we had a plan set. so i came back for day 2(a week later) to start work on my mouth. he is going to pull 4 teeth well the 4th 1 broke off in my mouth. even to gum level. what do you think this man did next. he tells me hes done with me that i will need to go to an oral surgeon to get that fixed. wtf right ok so he gives me a number which i call soon as i can speak correctly, to an oral surgeon who takes my insurance. 4 weeks till i can get in to see them. again WTF. now my tooth is killing me, cause of nerves exposed to the air. Im out buying anything and everything i can to cover this half tooth so nothing will touch it not air nothing. i call the dentist back tell them there is no way i can go a month with this. so they give me an appointment for a week later. what do you know the dentist that broke my tooth was able to get it out a week later. So what did this tell me about this dentist, if they mess you up and its going to put them behind your screwed, no matter the pain you will experience its ok cause they can go home on time. thats how i took it. so in a nutshell the place is nice, the people are nice, they obviously know what they are doing, however its all about the money for them not you. as you can see by my experience if things don't go the way they should your screwed. The bottom line is more important than the person is how i felt. 4 trips to the same dentist and i was finally done only took a little over a month. 4 teeth pulled, 1 root canal, and 6 cavity's , and of course the trip to fix the broke tooth. and the last part was the partial denture i almost forgot when the dentist took the mold the metal he put in my mouth hurt like it was 2 small but what do i know he's the professional is what i thought to myself. well when the dentures came in i went in to have them fitted never could make them feel comfortable the girl who was helping me finally gave up i guess, cause they sent me home said ill get use to them. still cant put them on, lol oh well who needs fake teeth anyway right. now it has been a couple years since this experience. and for whatever reason yelp asked me if i knew this place so i felt the need to tell my experience. they have been sending me stuff saying time to come back in and i just cant seem to do it, sad really like i said everyone was very nice. but i need to know that if someone messes up they are going to fix it not just tell me go home cause its going to throw off their day. or maybe cause im on the affordable care act is why they didnt care about me. who knows read more
