I went in for a molar with pain and heat / cold sensitivity. The dentist said a placing a crown over that tooth would fix it. I asked why he wasn't going to do a root canal first. He said it would be fine. After selling me, and fitting me with the crown I had terrible pain with the temporary crown. Long story short they convinced me the new crown would fix it which it did not. I had to go to an Endodontist to get a root canal done through the $2000 crown and spend another $1800 for the root canal. Then another $250 to get the crown filling. I've lost trust in this provider and the manager was not willing to listen to my concerns and acted like this was normal business. read more

My impression of visit - It is waste of time and money. Schedule appointment by the phone, explained - after tooth extraction I need partial to fill up the gap. Everything was fine until actual visit; technician did 4 xrays after show up doctor, she review pictures and said "I not gona do partial; you can go." I was discouraged by such a statement, she repeat several times "I don't want to waste your money". It is not the way to make quick buck, charging Insurance for xray but after doing nothing. P.S. I had an appointment with crown point at noon today. When I arrived there was another patient checking out who did not have a mask on. Then another patient walked into the lobby without a mask on. After a few minutes when the staff said nothing I confronted the person that had no mask on and asked them to please put a mask on. They did. Then I observed at least two employees in and around the office area that did not have masks on. I told the receptionist that I felt this was an unsafe environment and I left. 400,000 people are dead. How hard is it to enforce mask wearing? I will never go back. read more

I was in yesterday for an emergency examination of pain in lower left side of my mouth. X-rays did not indicate an infection at this point. Dr. Sheila was very thorough in explaining that it is possible that an infection may be starting at the base of my second molar on the left side. She advised taking over the counter pain meds and waiting a week to 10 days to see if the pain goes away. If not she may have to do a root canal on that molar. read more

I visited here for an urgent toothache problem. The staff was very friendly, and seemed to know what they were doing. The only downside was that I felt like I was in a high pressure sales class the whole time I was there. While I think I could get good dental care here, I'm not sure I'd like to go back, due to the very strong selling focus. I went for an invisaline consultation, the doctor advised me that I was not a good candidate for that treatment. Instead of just selling me an expensive treatment that would not correct my problem. She took her time to explain to me exactly why invisaline would not help me. I had other concerns that she addressed in depth and presented me with a way to combine three treatments in one. The doctor's clever way to address my concerns also saved me thousands. The dental hygienists and front staff were very friendly as well. I was a patient for several years (2015-2018) in Dr. Shahamat's office.  More than a year after my crown was placed I began to have pain. Since Dr. Sheila couldn't find anything wrong, I finally went to another  dentist. That is when I learned that the pain was coming from the crown and the tooth had to be extracted. The cantilever bridge she placed over my implant only lasted 5 years since the lever caused my implant to fracture.  This year I will be paying a large amount of money to get a new implant and bridge.  I would not recommend any placement of crowns or bridges at this office. read more

Emergency dentistry is the last thing you want, especially a root canal, so Crown Point was great about getting me right in! They worked with my schedule for follow ups I needed, it was that bad by then. I was not a usual case, in that I was resistant to the anesthetic. They have a number of ways to keep you occupied while they work, including dvd video glasses, a massage chair, and more! They have been to the dentist themselves before! The billing department really worked to show me my options for treatment, and while there was merchandise available, I didn't feel pressured into any of it. There were budget plans & equipment, and then better quality ones too. They explained the benefits of each option of treatment too. When we finally did the crown, they had such advanced equipment, that they made it right there on a CNC machine while I watched! Perfect fit, a couple comfort adjustments, and I was in my way! read more

I've been going to Crown Point dental care since I moved to Columbus years ago. Sheila and her staff are absolutely great, professional, friendly and talented. I've had a number of crowns and procedures done and I've never had anything but the best, pain free care. My dental health has never been better. I used to have issues with gum inflammation and recession and with tartar buildup but they've fixed those issues and showed me how to avoid their reoccurrence. Before going to Crown Point I always dreaded seeing the dentist.
