However, Dr. Ferguson is so skilled and kind, that the experience was fine for me without the nitrous oxide. He knew I was anxious, and told me every step of the way what he was doing and about how far along we were. I had absolutely no pain either time. Both times the process was completed and new crown installed within about 2 hours. He also uses a special camera to create the new crown, so no goopy molds inside your mouth at all. I'm grateful and hope to continue seeing Dr. Ferguson for my dental needs.

She is a thief! I…read morewas referred to Dr. Courtney by my Mother who had a wonderful, as expected, annual checkup. My Mom received $50 cash for referring me. Little did I know that I paid for it. Everything seemed fine until I was seen by Dr. Courtney. She ordered a second set of x-rays by the hygienist because she "couldn't read the first set". After her review of my mouth and the x-rays she told me that I needed 7 fillings, 2 root canals, a mouth piece to wear at night, and prescription toothpaste. I was shocked. I can't afford that! I have been to the dentist twice a year since I've had teeth. I proceed to check out of the office and I am told that I owe $360 dollars for the extra set of x-rays. WHAT?! They insisted on scheduling me immediately to start on the fillings and root canals soon after. I told them I couldn't take the time off from work and the receptionist replied, "So next Wednesday at 3:00?". This experience felt worse than trying to cancel a credit card combined with your car stereo being stolen. I got a second opinion. Without mentioning Dr. Courtney's diagnosis, this dentist suggesting sealing ONE molar "just to be safe". That is when I told him what Dr. Courtney wanted to do and he was appalled. Don't let her take your money for needless procedures.

I don't understand how they have someone like that working there. I had a dental plan that was terminated, she called to give me a "friendly reminder" that I had an appointment and that my dental coverage was terminated. I wasn't aware so I said I would call and investigate. I called, I didn't have my plan number because I'm at work so I couldn't verify but I remembered that my main health insurance also covers DENTAL. So I call the office back and I relay info to receptionist, she tells me that they don't typically cover dental only emergencies. I said can you just check and she says and does everything to avoid agreeing to check. She wanted the number in back of the card for Dental and at first I didn't see it. She says it doesn't cover it. We have a back and forth and all of these exchanges with a very condescending tone. I of course, am giving her the condescending treatment back and asking to please double check and she says stop yelling at me or I'm going to hang up! I wasn't yelling but I sure as heck was using the same condescending attitude she was giving me! She hung up. I called back because I found the number on the card and she answers and she says I was interrupting and that my insurance is very difficult to deal with and that they only cover emergencies. I said please just check, isn't that part of your employment duties? Just check. She says they're a difficult insurance company to deal with and they probably don't cover it. So she's just assuming a lot! We get into another heated exchange and she hangs up on me again. I call back and she doesn't answer the phone and then on the 4th try her colleague answers. I tell the colleague what is going on and reception gets back on the phone I tell her I found the number to please call and check, her tone is different now and goes I'll check and call you back. I take matters into my own hands and call as well. Guess what, they COVER DENTAL and not just emergencies and this dental office is in network! I was so upset because if I didn't persist and also take matters into my own hands I would have just assumed what she was saying was 100% truth. I am a patient, insurances are already working against us and somehow this receptionist wanted to make this experience even worse, she didn't want to do her part and check, only assumed. I called her back and told her they accepted dental claims and all that it entails. She said she called too and it does cover me. As a patient of 3 years at this office the least she could have done is just say let me double check with insurance, she's been a patient a while, couldn't hurt to verify the other insurance. Instead I get condescending tone and refusal to verify on my behalf if the insurance covers my treatment. This person needs a course in customer service, a refresher on job responsibilities and a course on situations that don't require passive aggressiveness. Being upset because I am passing on my medical insurance because I am 75% sure they cover dental and asking to double check and her telling me she knows they don't without double checking is insanity to me.

The only other dentists who accepted her insurance had shady reviews of scamming people about unnecessary cavities, or Nationwide Children's which has ridiculous wait times. I was so happy we found him, because the last dentist with whom she had an exam recommended three fillings. Dr. Gardner examined her and checked her xrays and said she only required one filling. Happy daughter! That was three years ago (2015) and she has not had problems with the other two teeth in which she was recommended to have fillings. I've never had a dentist sit down and explain what is going on with my X-rays. I'm always left to trust and assume what I am told is the truth. I was traveling from out of town and the clinic was able to move some things around to squeeze me in. One of their staff came in on their day off so I could get a treatment before leaving town. You can tell the group genuinely cares about their patients.
