After researching several offices, I decided to give Gables Family Dentist a try, and I am so glad I did. From my first phone call, the staff was professional, welcoming, and pleasant. They made the scheduling process easy and continued to provide excellent customer service when I arrived for my appointment. The office has parking in a garage, which can be a little tricky to find the first time, but there is plenty of garage parking as well as street parking nearby. I was greeted immediately, the wait was minimal, and the office was exceptionally clean with a comfortable reception area. My dental hygienist, Polo, was outstanding. He was thorough, thoughtful, professional, and took the time to explain everything. The office uses modern technology, including digital X-rays taken right at the chair with the images displayed on a monitor so you can see everything in real time and ensure they are accurate. It takes a lot for me to write a review for a dental office, but this experience exceeded my expectations. From the friendly front office staff to the exceptional care provided by Polo, every part of my visit was positive. After getting second opinions from other dentists, I now question whether those were really necessary, especially since the clinic routinely told me I had "new cavities" after every cleaning. I originally went there because other clinics push deep cleaning instead of regular cleaning covered by insurance, but it has become clear that they may be misleading patients in other ways. The place itself is modern, with cutting technology and as spotless as a dental office should be. I have got several procedures done at this place, that includes multiple cleanings (at least 4 so far) and Invisalign and I can't complain at all. Dr. Santos has been my dentist since day 1 and she has been great. I have been going through the Invisalign journey since mid last year and Milly, my ortho technician, has made the experience much better than what it could be. I expressed concern to Dr Quintero that I disagreed with Ms. Correa's findings. She was not a licensed Florida dentist. Moreover, I was troubled by Dr Quintero's lack of supervision of Ms. Correa and his failure to examine me. He did not look at my teeth or ask me to open my mouth for an independent examination. He did not take any measurements himself. Instead Dr Quintero wanted X-rays which were taken. Then Lily cleaned the teeth. HQ Dontics billed my insurance for a dental examination despite these facts. After my appointment Maria sent me a $6200 Invisalign treatment plan that was never discussed with me. Hq Dontics personnel never provided a rationale for the Invisalign recommendation. (Ms. Correa's name is listed on the plan although she is not a Florida dentist.). My teeth are already straight from previous braces. I cannot think of any benefit from Invisalign for my health. Subsequently Michelle Polidor from HQDontics admitted a "mistake by our Clinical Coordinator". Furthermore she threatened to "involve our legal counsel." Then Dr Quintero wrote an email terminating me as his patient with a 30 day notice. The email cited "communication and compatibility" despite multiple years as his patient before my yelp review. When a business admits to a mistake by an office coordinator, I would expect a prompt correction, apology and affirmation of the value of the business relationship. The unprecedented behavior of legal threats and termination of me as a patient warrants public consideration. I believe that all the facts are truthful and accurate.

Late last year, I made an appointment for a cleaning, having had my last one 6 months prior to the lockdown. For a person who brushes her teeth after every meal and flosses twice a day, I was surprised to learn that due to not having gone for a cleaning for two years, my gums needed a much needed deeper cleaning. That's when I began a periodontal/gum screening/oral hygiene fitness plan, that included 5 visits in a span of 3 months. Danny, the hygienist who took care of me, handled my mouth with extreme care and explained the details of all the procedures before during and after treatment which I appreciated very much. The first visit entailed having my gum's depth measured throughout my mouth, a super deep cleaning with a local anesthetic and laughing gas (I did not feel a thing and felt rather nice actually). Other tests were done and sent to the lab to check thoroughly. That day I went home with a brand new Philips electric toothbrush, a Waterflosser Water Pic, several bottles of oral irrigators, floss, etc. so I too, could tackle those hard-to-reach crevices in and around each and every tooth and molar at home. It was all included in their extremely competitive flat fee. At each visit, Danny once again measured the depth of my gums around each tooth, gave me a deep cleaning and an Oral Hygiene Fitness Report that reflected the improvements. All my visits were pain-free, educational and left me with freshly cleaned teeth and gums and it showed :) Today was my last visit. After the cleaning, I felt squeaky-clean and accomplished, especially receiving an "A+" for the progress and my at-home efforts. Dr. Gallardo and his staff not only treat you with respect and like family, but they make sure the experience with their state-of-the-art equipment, is smooth and pain-free.
