Clothing is optional, so if you bring children don't expect everyone will cover themselves. 18+ recommended. Hot springs are approx 1 mile upstream from campground. There are 2 different pools , one has a block wall around it. Expect to help clean the pools if there when it's time. I've had great experiences there and very negative experiences there. Honestly though 3 out of 4 times is mainly a bunch of swinging old richards that make it creepy. Respect the nature and pick up your trash either way. It's beautiful there as well.

Admittedly I had come here doing less research than I should've. I read some reviews about it being…read moreclothing optional, hippie, dirt road drive - but that was about the extent of my knowledge. I started the drive and it took more about 1-1:30 hours along the dirt road to get to the hot spring. I would've expected that this isolation from humanity would yield less people. I had taken a Tesla and this was for sure a mistake. A good amount of the road was washboarded - a result of too many vehicles and a lack of maintenance. One way to minimize this was driving toward the edges of the road. Anyway, my car was able to make it most of the way perfectly fine. But at the last 5 minutes the road got really bad - just right above the campsite. There was a sign saying that 'Nudity prohibited' - I'm guessing a result of large tourism, but nonetheless a sad statement - especially when looking at the reviews it used to be a popular for nudists. A few people choose not to abide by that government overreach, myself included. Finally, I managed to get to the bottom with a few hits against the bottom of my car. The campsite was very full. I luckily managed to find a spot next to another car. I walked along the River using the coordinates of Google maps as my guide. I found a spot where I could swim across. The hot springs was not that big and you can barely see the river directly from it. There's also a bunch of algae floating around. Had some great conversations with the locals and went back to the camp. Many cars drove in late at night parking next to me. I generally got the sentiment that there was way too much demand for this hot spring. The next day I went to the hot springs again and there were so many people that there was no space and people were standing outside for a spot - that's how busy it was. So I give this an below average rating: decently cool spot, way too busy, and not that big/poor water circulation.

Did the city pay a company to build this? It's not at all intuitive. There's no search function. The swim schedule is very difficult to find, and when you get there it's incomplete. We're not members but come for their pool 1-3x a year, it's never been crowded every time we have…read moregone. Which is nice!! It's around $15 for my son and I to and swim, I like that they have a family room where you can store your things in lockers, they have bathrooms w/showers in the family room, I still bring all my belongings out in the pool area, you can bring your own snacks which is convenient. My boy who is 11, likes to swim in the deep area, he did have to take a swim test his first time to make sure he can swim in that area, once he passed, they made him wear and orange bracelet, now anytime we go, we just tell a lifeguard he passed and they're ok with him just grabbing a bracelet and putting it on every time, no need to take test again. When we would go, on weekends, water slide doesn't open till 11, overall this is a convenient place to go when you feel like swimming. With it being indoors though, the chlorine smell is strong, but tolerable. The lifeguards are very nice as well.

In a way it felt soft on the joints (compared to concrete), but it played differently. The ball stays really low and skids, but we adapted to it quickly. Nets were temporary/moveable, but not the super cheap kind. Bathrooms were adequate and as expected, and the fees are reasonable. We will be back!
