We were greeted with mimosas upon arrival, and Catherine had already picked several items for both of us to try on. After combing through the store, I found that the biggest challenge was narrowing down my selection, because everything here is so stinking cute! It's clear that they do a lot of research on current trends. The 45 minute time a lot seemed to fly by, but I left the store with a bunch of new clothes that I love! Instead, once the customer left, we were completely ignored. Not a greeting, not eye contact, not an acknowledgment that we were standing there. The employee simply started hanging clothes as though we were invisible. It was one of the most unwelcoming retail experiences I've had. The atmosphere came across as elitist and judgmental--as if our casual boating clothes somehow meant we weren't worth acknowledging. The irony is that we absolutely had the means and every intention of buying a dress and supporting a local Kirkland business. Instead, we took our money elsewhere. A boutique should make people feel welcome, regardless of what they're wearing. Unfortunately, this store made us feel judged the moment we walked through the door.
