My wife and I recently had the pleasure of holding our wedding and reception at See Canyon. The venue is absolutely gorgeous, and Susie's team was great at making sure everything transitioned smoothly between wedding and reception. We received many compliments on the choice of venue, and looking back, we don't think we could have made a better choice. My only advice is that you make sure to ask a lot of questions and read the contract carefully as there are certain quirks about what you can and can't do with the venue--umbrellas must have open bases so they don't kill the grass, the whole event must be under five hours, etc. It's understandable considering that Paul and Susie earn a living off the grounds, but you don't want to get surprised with something on the day of your event. read more

Wonderful location for a garden wedding in May! The sunken garden was perfect for the ceremony, and while we had appetizers in the upper area, the staff transformed the garden into the reception area. We enjoyed dancing on the deck, under the trees. Birds were singing during the entire day...we felt we were in a fairy tale! The staff were a pleasure to work with, as we planned the event, at the event, and afterwards. And we couldn't have pulled it off so perfectly without Elaine McCann, the wedding coordinator! My husband and I were wanting a forest themed wedding without having to leave our beautiful SLO county and we hit the jackpot with See Canyon. I was beyond happy with the service of the venue, the well kept grounds, and all the personalized accommodations. We have gotten so many compliments on how beautiful and unique our wedding was right down to the amazing weather (we got married the end of March, and with all the rain people were worried about an outdoor event, but it was 70 and sunny). I'd definitely recommend this location to anyone for their wedding. As for their cider and apple tasting, my mom and I visited last autumn and enjoyed the positivity, good pricing, and tasty food. We stayed at See Canyon Fruit Ranch through a reservation with Hipcamp. It is a lovely location with nice facilities. The grounds were good for strolling and the gas fireplaces were welcome to ward off the cold. (Exception - Bathrooms were only camping clean and once there was no hot water.) Susie was warm, welcoming and lovely. We enjoyed conversations with her and our stay enough that we extended it. I spoke to family members in CA and recommended they consider the orchard for future trips. However, we got word that 93 year old mom had fallen and broken her hip and would need surgery. We spoke with Susie and explained that because of the emergency we needed to leave early to fly to Philadelphia. She was empathetic and compassionate. We said we would pay for Friday night tho we wouldn't be there and asked that we be refunded for the weekend. She seemed to agree and asked that we speak with her son Jeremiah as he dealt with Hipcamp. We trusted that things would be handled, and I wrote a very positive review. We heard nothing. After several phone calls were not responded to, I contacted Hipcamp and used their messaging system. The responses from Jeremiah were stunningly officious and curt, displaying none of the hospitality or caring that we had gotten from his mom. He said that there was a policy and that guests had to accept all risk, no matter the reason. I write this review because if someone were setting up a big event and had to cancel for an unforeseen emergency, I fear they might be at risk of losing a large amount of money. We chose See Canyon Fruit Ranch to be our wedding ceremony and reception site for a summer wedding. There is one wedding/event booked per weekend, so we had the use of the space from the Friday prior for set-up and drop-off of supplies and the rehearsal to Sunday. The venue is in a woodsy area (and among other neighboring fruit farms) with a creek running through it, which means there was the potential for summer bugs, but the Kennys take measures to eradicate them prior to every booked event (i.e. they spray). Rental includes round tables and chairs and a seamless transition from ceremony to reception using the same garden space. It was magical. read more

This is an amazing venue for weddings! My husband and I were lucky enough to get married here earlier this month. The grounds beautifully rustic with barns, apples & cute little signs, but so green and lush that some photos resemble a jungle! The river that runs through the site add to a peacefulness about the place that makes it simply perfect for a wedding. This site does have restrictions regarding noise, a 7pm curfew, and only beer & wine are allowed. We had not originally planned on having a daytime wedding, but are so happy that we did... it was gorgeous! The Kennys who run the fruit ranch are also a pleasure to work with and did a wonderful job both keeping up the grounds and making the wedding as stress-free as possible. This is absolutely one of my favorite places on the central coast. My husband and I always make a point whenever we are in the area to stop by to reminisce on our beautiful wedding day that took place here. Paul and Susie, the lucky owners, are two of the most genuine people I have the pleasure of knowing. They have so much to offer, including their vast property and a story or two, that makes this venue in particular feel like home. Looking back, there are a few things that my husband and I have talked about changing if we had the chance when it comes to our wedding. This venue is not one of those things. It is an amazing place to swing in for fresh picked-when-ready apples, produce, and other local goodies. Grounds smell delicious (like apples) and the decorations props an buildings are perfect for a funky rustic vintage wedding look. Love the gazebo (dark stained) and the set up of the property. Only con to me was that you have to be out by 7pm due to outdoor noise restrictions, which is understandable, but we were truly not looking to have a day time wedding or else we would have chose this place. This was a very hot day so we did not spend as much time as we would have liked. But the apples I bought called Gala were very good way better than store bought. This place is magical. My husband and I were looking to get married in Avila Beach as it is a special place to us, and found See Canyon Fruit Ranch tucked into the hills just east of the coast. Our wedding was in July of 2014 on a bright sunny day. There was a nice breeze but I am still so glad we got some outdoor umbrellas brought in for the day. Susie is so helpful and kind with answering a bride's many questions when planning the big day; and is also so experienced with weddings that I was rarely at a loss for ideas after getting off the phone with her. It honestly is one of the most beautiful venues/properties I have seen in a long time. It surprised me in fact when I got inside the gate to attend the event. Once I went down the stairs in the backyard, I was taken by the beautiful work the family and business has done with he landscape. So lush! i shot Debbie Yee's wedding at the fruit ranch last year. from a photographer's standpoint, it is an excellent venue. we were fortunate enough to have an overcast day (causing minimal harsh shadows). the fruit ranch offers lots of country rustic photographic opportunities. the lush green lawn and surrounding trees are a pleasure have as a backdrop for the ceremony. the owners of the ranch were really great folks to work with, as well. i highly recommend this venue. read more
