The staff here are very friendly and attentive. Even a male perm and cut can take 3 hours to finish and that's why they charge so much. I don't come as often anymore because it's bit too pricey for me right now, but I strongly suggest this location. Always double check the price with your stylist especially if you're doing a walk in. You really feel that they pamper you, they cut every strand slowly with precision, every curl is done well. They even give you a small neck massage and tea! read more

I really want to like this place but it just didn't cut it. I wanted a balayage with silver tone and made an appointment before my flight the next day since i was visiting for work. They were nice about it and was accommodating. Im worried about bleaching my hair but I ask for consultation beforehand and before she does anything since I dont want more breakage if she finds my hair cannot take it. She said its fine after she talked with her co workers and the owner and they discuss behind me for awhile. A bunch of people came to check my hair which made me uncomfortable . This salon is maybe Japanese employees so i thought it greats since I also speak/understand Japanese but did not disclose it. So, without their knowledge, understood their conversations, so it was an awkward silence for me to sit their as they talk about how "scary" my hair was abd how difficult it would be...Im like "oh god should i leave" moment. Sadly, i stayed which a decision ill regret later. my regular stylist usual take a long time to color my hair but here it was really rushed. She convinced me to do an ombre since its easier and she just paint away quickly on my hair. I was hoping she knows what she is doing since this place is very expensive. The bleach was applied first but she didnt check them if they are even and just left it to marinate. It took couple of minutes,was rinsed and they root color was applied after. The whole session was only 2 hours which was really odd since i know from experience it takes about 3-4 for ombre since my hair is long. In the end, I was wrong to trust them, my hair was colored unevenly and patchy bleach everywhere. The base color was darker than my regular color and of course breakage all over. Lesson learned dont just go wherever, its hard to find a place you can really trust. I wont be back here again, it was about 350 usd total because they will charge you about 40 usd just for olaplex but in most place its included or just 20. This place couldve been better but i think my stylist just want to finish early since i was her last person. I really felt unwelcome too since she kept speaking in Japanese and showing my hair to the other stylist. You are better off somewhere else with more effort and professionalism for your money. read more

After the last 2 visits at Seefu, I can conclude that the salon experience has deteriorated significantly. Not only has price gone up, I feel that the service provided and efficiency of processes are far less than optimal. Here is what went wrong in both of my recent visits: 1. Hair-wash takes way too long and as a result my neck post wash is strained and uncomfortable. 2. Hairdressers move onto other clients once they finish with you and do not return by the time you are back in the seat ready for styling. Now I'm not blaming the hairdressers but I do blame on the fact that only hairdressers have the experience to style hair. Not once, but twice I was left sitting in the chair being passed around by these very VERY inexperienced junior helpers who tried to blow dry/play with my hair whilst my hairdresser finishes working on her client. It was very evident that they had no idea what they were doing and were simply killing time until the hairdresser can return and pick up on the styling. In fact, my hairdresser had to rework the styling from scratch once she returned. As a customer I see through this crystal clear and do not appreciate being passed around and having my time wasted sitting, waiting, wondering when styling will be completed. This salon has been my go to for a long time and I will be taking my business else where after this experience. Seefu - please train your junior helpers or hire juniors who can actually wash blow dry and style hair properly. It is most irritating when you know you are paying top dollar for these inexperienced juniors to play with your hair and then realize its a complete bust that your hairdresser needs to rework. read more

After reading the reviews on here I decided to give this place a try. Waited about 30 minutes without an appointment on a Friday night. Did the full massage plus haircut which was a little awkward but thought I'd give it a shot. First of all the area they use to wash your hair has many stains on the ceiling. It just looks ghetto. I like to look at the brighter side of life so I used the time to come up with interesting animals that the stains resembled which helped to make the time go by quicker. The haircut was terrible. I asked her to leave some length on the sides which she ignored. When I called her out on it she kept apologizing to the point where I actually felt bad about the fact that she messed up my hair. I actually paid full pop plus tips because I felt bad for the massage lady who was different from the stylist. In hindsight, I probably shouldn't have. Anyways, I will let the picture speak for itself. I definitely didn't ask for this lol. Good memories though as I like to look at this picture when I need a good laugh. This is out of the shower. I do not normally write reviews, however I had a very negative experience with Seefu Hair Salon and feel compelled to share my experience: I was new to Toronto and wanted to get my hair cut, highlighted and colored. I went to Seefu and spent around 4 and half hours and $500+ there, once the treatments were done the stylist offered to use a hot iron to style my hair further. I have always had extremely straight and healthy hair, but to my horror after washing my hair a few days after the treatment it was clear that my hair had been significantly damaged - not only was it much drier and more brittle than before, but a permanent curls had been introduced. This is something that had never happened to me before in any of the numerous times I had received similar treatments at other salons. I went back to Seefu, and they immediately and fairly aggressively denied any responsibility despite the fact that the newly added and permanent curls in my hair perfectly matched those introduced by the hot iron as you can see in the attached photos, and even pushed back saying all faults were mine such as "new environmental factors". This is a ridiculous excuse because I have lived in New York, London, Hong Kong and Tokyo before, any environmental changes have never caused this kind of issue before Seefu. I then sought an examination and advice from another hair salon where I had been before (in another city), who after examining my hair agreed that it was clearly the treatments given that must have caused the problems. They said that the damage must be from mistakes made by Seefu. She applied treatments on 2 occasions with the aim of helping, which it did to a very small degree, but sadly also informed that there is no true fix that can be done and my choice boils down to either living with the damaged hair or cutting it all off (roughly two thirds of my long hair), which would then take 5 years to regrow. The damage is well beyond what is normal for this treatment, and is clearly a result of Seefu's errors. However I am most upset at their refusal to accept any responsibility. read more

I had time to kill and decided to get a haircut. I remembered Seefu was pretty good. Worse decision ever. I had long hair and had my hair trimmed 3 months ago and wanted it trimmed again. I walked in around noon and was greeted by a guy named Tony who i later discovered when I was billed. He said 5 minute wait. I'm thinking great! He finished his client and came over. He didn't introduce himself. I said I wanted a trim and some layers right underneath my chin. My hair was down to my lower back. My hair was dirty and wavy as I had put it in a bun. He did a dry cut and kept cutting and never once asked for my opinion. After the wash and shampoo he didn't even check his work. Him and his assistant gave me a blowdry but at this point I just wanted to leave. Please tell me why I have strands eye length when I asked for a goddamn trim!! Do not recommend at all. Worst experience ever. After paying 62 plus 15% tip I don't care about the shampoo and massage. I just need trim. Is that so difficult? read more

Got another colour by Koichi again + haircut! He really saved my hair because I went to another salon that made my layers all uneven. Thankfully, Koichi fixed it and I'm happy again. A year ago I got Koichi to give me purple hair. This time I requested a more subtle look with a dark red-violet. Basically, it looks dark indoors/in the shade (almost black) but you see the colour once you go out into the sun. Again, Koichi listened to what I wanted and gave me just that! And the head + shoulder massage is amazing as always. I love this salon. read more

Curly blow fanatic right here!! I live in Liverpool the land of curly blows, I get one back home every week! I chanced this salon because it was next door to my hotel and I wasn't disappointed! The lady spent a good 15 minutes washing and massaging my hair before being transferred over to the chair for a shoulder massage! I was worried that the language would be a barrier and I wouldn't clearly be able to explain what I wanted but I needn't have worried! Lovely bouncy curly blow ready to hit the CN tower later!! Didn't need to make an appointment just walked in and started right away. $40 for haircut with scalp massage during shampoo and nice neck and shoulder massage after. They use dry cutting which I think is much much better than wet cutting.. Google the benefits. And cut off a ton of weight which I love. Feel so Light and soft now. And he curled it for me with a straightener which is my favourite since it lasts way more days than curler :) very happy and very quick and excellent service read more

The communication was short, she was busy on doing other clients' hair. However, the result made me upset. Nothing relate with the style I want but short. Beside the result,I felt painful while Jenny and one of their stuff brushing and doing her hair. Overall the helpers' attitude was good. Super regret my decision. Don't recommend Jenny. I've been to Seefu in Yorkville before quite some time ago, and it was always a great experience! I've been in desperate need of a haircut recently (as is the rest of the world by now), and decided to try Seefu at Spadina. Jenny my stylist was absolutely AMAZING! Oh my goodness, I cannot begin to thank you for my much needed haircut, a stylish bob, which has been unkempt and unsightly for 4 months now! Thanks to you, I'm much more 'presentable' and I feel human again! In regard to COVID precautions, they have online bookings with the staff greeting you outside the door. They check your temperature and require face masks. The staff wear face shields during the whole process, and honestly I feel for you guys because it's so difficult to wear these things all day (speaking from experience). The instruments, chairs, and hair washing stations were cleaned prior to use, and they limited the number of patrons in the salon. Overall, the experience was amazing as it always is at Seefu, but I was particularly appreciate of today's visit given our current 'situation' and for the first time in a long time, I actually felt 'human' ! Very nice first time here . Tony is the best . I have gotten one of the best haircuts in my entire life. The place is clean and modern. They wash your hair with very good effort . Massages your head . Cleans your ears with a hot towel and uses a hot towel to cover your eyes . Booked an appointment within 5 minutes. And was right away accepted knowing how busy it was. It's a bit pricey $62 for a cut. But it's worth every penny in my opinion. You get cut once every 3 months. $62 is worth it . You wanna look your best right ? Got my root touch up and hair cut here and am pretty happy with the results. I was running late and called the place to let them know. They were very accommodating of me. The staff there are also really friendly. Eiko was the one who cut my hair for me. She was meticulous and very detail oriented. Not very talkative though which I guess could be good or bad. I typically enjoy a bit more socialization while getting my hair cut but I was fine just browsing on my phone. The price here is not bad and they know how to deal with Asian hair very well. They also give you a shoulder massage too but I opted not to get that. I love how all the staff here are Japanese. I'll be back in a few months. read more

Mina was the girl who received me and said she could take me right away. I showed her a few quick photos and told her I needed a summer cut. She didn't speak English super well but she gave me the cutest haircut of my life. I love how light it was and she expertly curled my hair, something that a lot of other Asian hairdressers can't do. I asked the receptionist to book me another experience stylist and she recommended Jay but when i came in she gave me a different stylist. I don't think this stylist was as experience as the other stylists and my haircut turned out way different. Terrible experience I went there for blow dry on Friday , I asked the girl to give volume to my hair I mentioned that I don't like my hair looks straight . I showed her the the picture of the hair style that I like to make it clear but Omg she made my hair completly straight , she tried to fix it with curling iron she made it even worse , my hair looked messy , I was so upset I wanted to talk to manager but he was not there so I had to pay for the service which was terrible . once I got home the curls were gone !!! I only went to seefu once for a full hair dye. I have thick Asian hairs, which often are considered as hard to deal with in western salons. Colors: Overall,I would say the dye was fine and I did receive what I expected, although the colors don't come out exactly the way I wanted. Service: I asked for the top stylist, as I normally go to a fancier salon, so I did not want my experience to be far off. I had one director level stylist and an assistant. The assistant was very polite and I think he was somehow attentive in my hairs. 1. The first down side is the language. The store is trying to expand to Chinese market by adding Chinese staffs. I do speak Chinese so it was okay for me but I can imagine how difficult for non Chinese or non Japanese customers to communicate. 2. I also don't think the staffs communicate well. I called in the morning to get a reservation but the receptionist told me that I did not need to book it as the director seems to have lots of spots. In fact, when I came in, they were surprised to see me without a reservation that was told by their own staff. However, I think at least they are trying to serve me right away so I don't think it is a big deal. Price wise: it is okay. I paid about 130 for only the coloring. I have short hairs. I only colored my hairs here so I am not sure about the cutting though. read more

Seefu is the best Asian salon I've come across in Toronto (I've been to Maya, Chura, Sora and others). I came here to get highlights and a cut. My stylist was Yuka and I gave her a picture of what seemed to be a complicated hair dye (ash blonde mixed in with cool brown) but the end results were even better then I hoped for. Ended up paying 350 (with tip and tax) but was worth it. Bonus is that after you're finished with shampooing you'll get a nice shoulder massage. read more

I've searched for a new hair salon and stumbled upon Seefu's page. I emailed for a hair consultation and received a call from them. Before my initial appointment at Seefu - Spadina, I chose Eiko as my stylist. I showed her similar ombre balayage photos, which were also the work of other staff in the salon. She asked me which ones I preferred and immediately knew what to do. Eiko re-explained the procedures during my appointment and ensured she achieved my desired look. It was an absolute pleasure to get my hair treated by Eiko. She is an amiable and knowledgeable stylist. She knows her craft very well, and her work ethic is commendable. I also observed staff cleaning and sanitizing the tools, chairs and hair-washing stations before and after use. The prices at Seefu are somewhat more competitive than other places downtown, yet indeed worth it. I left my appointment with no disappointment and with an exceptional result. read more

Made a late evening reservation for a haircut with Yutaka as Eiko was away on maternity leave. The haircut was $50 pre-tax and tip. Yutaka stayed with me throughout the cut and hairstyling versus my friend who was with Tony (he seemed super busy). He asked me about my thoughts throughout but we generally kept to ourselves (which I prefer - I was super tired). He seemed considerate and gave me what I wanted. He was a bit quiet so I had difficulty hearing him at times, which I didn't want him to misunderstand as him having an accent (sorry!). No language barriers; they all speak English fine. I didn't get the shoulder massage as I generally don't like massages but the head massage was HEAVENLY (they didn't ask and just went for it, but I'm glad they didn't!). He didn't go through every strand looking for split ends as Eiko apparently does. Nonetheless, I highly, highly recommend this place if you have Asian hair and can't find "the" hairstylist for you. I'm in love with the cut. Please give this place a try! PS: when they ask if you want "spray," they are referring to hairspray. That took us a few tries haha. read more

I book the appointment the next day I walk in and they don't have any stylist available and then the "manager" Edward decides that the price is now 300$ even tho my hair is up to my shoulders (short to medium) . It was obvious he was ripping me off as in 10 years I've dyed my hair I've never had anyone charge me that much... lol max ive paid for even long length hair is 250 maximum including tip. My friend had recommended me to try the Seefu Hair Salon at Yorkville; however, with all the great reviews and the location being closer to home, I decided to try the Seefu on Spadina. The place looked promising and I heard great things about my stylist, Koichi, as well. The experience started off with a head massage and a hair wash. It was quite nice but nothing out of the ordinary - very comparable to any salon with a similar price range of $38 for a mens cut. The shoulder massage is not nearly as great as people "hype" about it in their reviews. Next came the haircut itself. I found communication to be an issue - I was not sure if he understood what I was talking about. With all the testimonials, I decided to give him a chance and let him do his thing. The haircut did not turn out to be a disaster, but I was definitely not impressed. I could have gotten a better haircut at Maya Hair Salon for $20. I might give the Yorkville location a shot, but paying $38 before tax (Approx $50 after tax and tip) is severely overpriced for this place especially for guys. I observed the other hairstylist and none of them were great. For girls, it might be a completely different story! It was quite a disappointing experience to say the least and I know I will not be returning to this location for sure. read more

I stumbled across Seefu Hair Salon when I was browsing around for hair salons near the vicinity. Their online ratings seemed to be good, so I gave it a shot. It turned out to be a mistake, as I was quite disappointed with their service. I wanted a simple "bob" style haircut, and it turned out into a messed-up bowl-cut. Furthermore, I was highly annoyed when my hair-cutter used an electric trimmer to cut my BANGS -- it's obvious that you're supposed to use scissors for this, and as such it just came across as pure laziness and apathy. Additionally, the staff hardly speaks or understands English, so if you do decide to drop by for a hair cut, be prepared beforehand with some pictures of the kind of hairstyle you want. A brief shoulder massage is included with a standard haircut, but this doesn't really offset the aforementioned faults above. Pricing is about standard -- they are not cheaper than other competitors. I wish I had a better experience, but unfortunately I was put off by the quality (or lack thereof) of the staff at Seefu. I would not recommend them. read more
