I just purchased my first home and it came with oil heating. I was approached by a couple companies to earn their business but Seelig was recommended by a close friend of mine, so I gave them a call. What I really liked: 1. Family owned company - the owner himself Russ came over, measured my tank, looked at my furnace and answered any questions I may have. 2. Their prices are very competitive (20% less than what I was quoted by Genessee) and they threw in a free tune-up and 1 year maintenance for free (I believe this is about $130 normally). 3. Very down-to-earth, high work-ethic and willing to spend as much time as needed. Russ was really great and patient with someone like me who has zero experience with oil heating. I called Seelig Fuel on Monday, and they answered the phone right away. She was very courteous to me. She & I scheduled our fuel delivery for Wednesday, and he arrived right on time, as scheduled. If we had been completely out of fuel and in dire straights, she would have had the delivery driver to our home on that Monday, but I said that was not necessary, since we still had some fuel left. Their prices are the best I've found lately. They also give customers a cash discount if you pay with a check instead of credit card. I've already referred them to my next door neighbor who told me his oil tank is nearing empty right now, and if any other neighbors mention they need fuel oil, I'll refer all of them to the Seelig folks. read more

The oil company I used before charged very high prices., so I looked around for another company. That's when I found Seelig Fuel. I have been a customer of Seelig Fuel for the last 25 years and have been very satisfied with their service, reliability, and reasonable rates. They also offer a nice cash discount if you pay within 5 days of receiving the invoice. I also have an annual service/maintenance contract with Seelig, which is well worth it. Anytime I have had a question or problem with my furnace, I get a straight answer and a quick resolution. We have used Seelig Fuel since fall of 2012. I chose them based on good yelp reviews and a desire to support a local company. Their efforts go toward keeping my furnace tuned up and my oil tank full. I only have to call them once a year to schedule my furnace tuneup. We opt to pay in full when they fill our tank (which happens twice per year). The bill is impressive (because heating oil is expensive) but paying in full with a check allows them to charge us the least possible for the fuel which I appreciate. You can make different arrangements (including using a credit card to pay, I believe) but the cost will be higher. I'm very happy with Seelig! read more

I cannot say enough good things about this company. Our furnace stopped working this Thanksgiving. I never thought, I'd get a call back, let alone within 10 minutes after leaving a message. Russ came out with enough fuel to last until the truck could come out the next and fill us up. Sadly, after getting here, he realized that we had enough oil but our furnace was broken. He had our furnace up and running in less than an hour after arriving. Seelig Fuel is the best! The owners, Kay and Russ were the only ones who responded to my frantic call for oil when we moved into our house with a sick child and discovered the tank was empty. My son, then 6 years old, was sick with what we later found our was pneumonia, and it was freezing cold. I called several oil companies but none would deliver oil until the next day. Russ came out within the hour and I'll be forever in their debt. Years later we needed our furnace replaced and of course we called Seelig. I have been using Seelig for almost 20 years, and they take VERY good care of my original furnace in the basement of my late 40s house!! I maintain my annual service contract, and when I need help, they are right there, and their service personnel know not only my antique furnace, they do a great job on my mom's 8 year old one, too. I also like that they allow for a monthly payment plan. We love Seeing Fuel they come and fill-up and no one has to be home to let them in. Over our seven-plus years of automatic oil delivery and annual furnace service, Seelig has always been prompt and courteous. We discovered this winter that we need our 60-year-old underground tank replaced, but we have to wait for the ground to dry out. Their technicians promptly diagnosed the problem (rainwater leaking into the tank), and have gone above and beyond to help us with a temporary fix so we have heat. I have been using them for over 10 years. They have the best oil prices and even offer a prompt pay discount to boot. They installed my oil furnace when no other company could/built into a chimney. I would not think of letting anyone else service the furnace and they offer a combo furnace tune-up and service contract at a price you can not beat.
