tldr - if it's related to HVAC, call the installer of your HVAC system if possible. I called Green Bear to take a look at an HVAC system (on second floor) that was leaking water on the 1st floor ceiling (due to AC condensation). They sent someone over, who didn't really open the HVAC system panel much. I didn't seem confident that this would fix it. But they recommended to fix the drain pan inside the evaporator coil box, which they said was much more expensive. For clearing the drain pipe and gluing a loose pipe, which didn't actually fix the main problem, they still billed me $300 - diagnostic fee ($99) + 1 hour ($199) - (there's a 3% credit card fee, but they accept checks) 4 or 5 hours later, there was dripping again. I ended up calling Bob's, they sent 2 technicians who knew what they were doing (they opened the panel properly), they found and fixed the issue - it did not involve replacing a drain pan. Bob's only charged me the diagnostic fee of $175 and did the job right (compared to $300 that Green Bear charged) read more

I had an issue with a gas leak in the fireplace so I scheduled servicing the fireplace as well as the HVAC system. I was quickly scheduled and the tech arrived on time, took care of the issue.i was provided pictures of the work, and a report. I found out shortly after there is a 90 day. Warranty on the service - which is great in case I have any recurring issues. Price is a bit on the higher side but I knew that before scheduling the appointment. read more

Kept their word. Getting harder to find this quality in contractors. Original quote was for two days labor to replace a failed furnace. Took 4 days, problems with circuit boards that took time to find and then replace. They finished the job for the original quote. There was also an error in the original quote over the hours needed, we split the difference with them. Both sides win, both sides lose a little. That is a fair deal. This company uses high quality components, does a clean installation, cleans the worksite well, and they show up when they say they will. The communication with Green Bear Heating and Air was excellent. The tech couldn't come on the scheduled Friday but they let me know and rescheduled to the following Friday. We called them for our 4 fireplaces maintenance. The tech was polite and did his work quietly and left the areas clean. My issue is the price; they charge $265 per fireplace (before tax). It took the tech 2.5 hours to do his thorough maintenance job for all 4 fireplaces, which ends up at $424 per hour.
