He did show up at 7:00 PM, having apparently already worked for 9-10 hours already, but said he didn't want us to freeze overnight if he put it off until tomorrow. Patched it up right quick while answering a few furnace questions I had about the gas valve and heat sensor, etc., making sure everything he could see was resolved before leaving. This wasn't the first time I've called Furnace Aid - we've used them now for the whole 13 years we've owned the house - and each time has always been this same exceptional service and care. He answered all the questions we had and helped guide us in the right direction! He supplied us with a few brochures, and we went on our way. He sent us a few quotes based on the inserts we were looking at in the shop. We landed on the Solas 48. Since we were taking care of the build out ourselves, I had a lot of questions on how to do so correctly. Max was so helpful in helping us with the schematics and how to build the platform for the insert to sit on. We had to build it perfectly so the fireplace window was centered in the facade. We paid a 50% deposit for the insert, and it was ordered. He kept us in the loop on order status, and was able to schedule the install once he had a firm delivery date. The day Max and his wife came out to do the install, it was one of the hottest days of the summer (go figure!) I had the AC cranked up for them so they were comfortable during the install! They did a wonderful job! Very efficient, friendly and professional! They showed me how to work the controls and recommend I run the fireplace for 3 hours to do the burn off. (This didn't happen until fall!) We love our fireplace! It turned out beautifully! (We outsourced slabs of porcelain for the surround.) We highly recommend Max Heat for any fireplace needs! They are amazing at what they do!!

Not only did we get an appointment within days, Casey showed up exactly on time, and even called to let us know he was on his way. He used care and caution in our home, and was very respectful by taking his shoes off without even being asked. Casey came prepared with parts necessary for the retrofit. After the main servicing of the 28 year old fireplace, he told us it could easily be fitted with a remote, and that it already had a fan - that was broken. He quickly retrofitted for the remote and installed a new fan. We were so happy that we didn't have to replace the entire fireplace. We cannot recommend this company enough!

This wasn't an easy install, 28' up on a 8/12 pitched roof. David, the project manager showed up with two workers and got the job done in about five hours. They did a great job, removed old chase and wood trim around the top, installed new chase, wood trim and painted all new material to match existing house color. I had three other chimney companies come out and give bids, none really seemed interested in doing this job, all were looking for masonry work or a bigger project. I would use this company again for any type of chimney repair work.

I reached out on Yelp for a project regarding cost to vault a ceiling of a potential house I was considering to buy. Someone on the team said that they could come at 11am for a site visit. I asked once again on Yelp to confirm they were coming. I had heard that I would need advice from a structural engineer, and they said yes. Then, I called them directly again, to verify if the manager would be able to speak on the structural feasibility of the project. After calling the manager's number provided by the receptionist multiple times, there was no answer - maybe he was on the job. However, when my husband called AD Master again, he was able to reach someone and when he asked about the site visit, they said they didn't have our appointment on the books. We had to schedule once again on the phone. Long story short, someone did come (at 10am, not the agreed time) and they thought they were there for a deck repair. To be honest, he just seemed uncomfortable to have showed up to the wrong job site and didn't contribute much - no estimate of cost or work was shared by him. I liked the quality of work I saw on the photos, but would not likely hire them due to the poor communication so far. Edit response to AD Master: After speaking with your customer service agent, Viky, she shared that many of your employees do not speak English as a first language, causing the miscommunications. I am glad you are taking this seriously moving forward to improve the experience for future customers. As a result, I will raise my review to 3 stars. I'm sharing this experience so other homeowners can make informed decisions, not to debate licensing, insurance, or general HVAC overhead. From a single service visit, this company provided two estimates for the same issue: Repair estimate: * ECM blower motor replacement * Total: $4,879.67 Replacement estimate: * New 96% AFUE Coleman furnace * Total: $6,798.13 Both estimates were generated by the same company, for the same system, during the same visit. The concern here is not that professional HVAC work costs more than DIY because that's expected. The concern is that a straightforward, viable repair option clearly existed, yet the quoted repair cost was nearly ten times the actual retail cost of the part, while full system replacement was strongly presented as the alternative. After the visit, I independently verified the diagnosis. The failure was a worn ECM blower motor, a known wear item after long, continuous use. I purchased an OEM-compatible ECM motor for $425, installed it in under an hour, and the system immediately returned to normal operation. It has been running normally since. This was not an unsafe system, a failed heat exchanger, or an obsolete furnace. It was a single failed component that could have been repaired professionally without recommending full system replacement or pricing the repair at a level approaching the cost of a brand-new furnace. I'm posting this so other homeowners know to ask detailed questions, request part numbers, compare repair versus replacement pricing carefully, and seek second opinions before committing to major HVAC expenses. My response to Shawn: Thank you for responding. I want to clarify a few points for accuracy. York does not publish any documentation stating that this furnace model is "rated" for only 12-15 years. That appears to be an industry rule-of-thumb, not a manufacturer-stated lifespan. If there is a York or Johnson Controls document indicating otherwise for this model, I'm happy to review it and update my comments accordingly. Regarding the repair: the issue was a failed ECM blower motor, which is a known wear component, especially after long continuous use. The system was otherwise operational and returned to normal function immediately after replacing that single component. I also want to clarify that the replacement motor I installed is OEM-compatible and came with a 2-year manufacturer warranty, which is equal to or longer than the typical labor or parts warranty offered on many service repairs. My review is not intended to question your diagnostic work or your right to price services as you see fit. It is intended to accurately reflect the significant cost difference between the quoted repair and replacement options versus the actual scope of the failure, so other homeowners can make informed decisions and seek second opinions when appropriate. Meh experience overall - Shawn was in and out within an hour and at best his work was marginally ok, read below for more details. We contacted Shawn and Green Bear as we had been told our gas fireplace needed replacing by another company. Shawn indicated he would charge us a diagnostic fee to look at it - fine, understand that. Shawn came in and indicated fireplace is ok which was good, was happy with his honesty and candid feedback - proceeded to indicate we needed cleaned. He did not mention that $175 was the cleaning fee on top of the $105 diagnostic fee - he cleaned the fireplace and got it working. I mentioned to Shawn that the fireplace blower was making noise and Shawn indicated it needed to be replaced (without looking at it...) and it was $500 - I opted to not replace it. His advise was also that blowers tend to break after a while so don't replace it - did not pressure at all to spend more $$. After I had paid him and he left, I did a bit of research online and took the blower out to get the model number for replacing it - the blower itself was totally fine except that the it had come lose from the body of the fireplace and hence it was making some noise. I cleaned the blower (dust around it) put in new sticky tape and voila - a just like new blower with 10 min of work. Wondering what diagnostic did Shawn do and his overall quality of work if he was not even able to look at the blower and determine a simple piece of sticky tape had come loose - we choose him due to the 5* yelp reviews but at best I can give him 2 stars for his work. Advise to Shawn - be clear about your charges upfront and if you charge a diagnostic fee - diagnose the whole unit and not just part of it. read more

I am a new home owner, just purchased my first home in March of 2013. I am sure just like many other people I have had to learn the pains of home ownership and not having a landlord to rely on when things go wrong. I was having issues with my natural gas furnace and needed assistance quickly. I reached out to Green Bear Solutions and immediately was impressed with their dedication to customer service and attention to detail. I spoke to a gentleman by the name of Shawn and he addressed all of my concerns and answered all of my questions. Shawn took the time to educate me on the system I had installed in my home and provided other resources so I could do my own homework as well. I scheduled a furnace service with Green Bear Solutions, they called 30 minutes outside of the appointment to advise they were on their way (this rarely happens nowadays) and promptly arrived at my residence on time and with a smile. Shawn and his team quickly identified the issue, made all needed repairs in a timely manner and did so with a polite and courteous disposition. I was amazed at the level of professionalism and attention to detail. Most of my experiences in inviting contractors in to your home is they are not very friendly and leave rather abruptly, not with this team. I am very pleased with the services I received and in fact signed up for an annual service plan with them. If the furnace or thermostat every have any issues I know that I am in good hands. I often do not write reviews, but these guys are so amazing I felt compelled to do so. We operate a busy bar in Seattle with an older set of mechanicals HVAC type 1 hood in the kitchen, we were always having something breakdown in at the most inconvenient time it seems. finally we fired the old company when somebody recommended these guys.. OMG!!! they came out on a weekend on short notice to fix out HVAC and our oven hood both of which had gone on the blank on a Sunday afternoon in the July heat. They knew exactly what to do to get us up and running and have the parts we needed amazingly on their truck! Going forward we utilize them exclusively and I have saved thousands of dollars in repairs that would otherwise have been required without their TLC and recommendations. Since he was affordable and friendly I also had him service my gas furnace, install a new digital programmable thermostat and rewire my summer fan. Now that the summer heat wave has officially hit Seattle, we could not be happier with the new install by Green Bear. Shawn and Scott replaced our 16+ year old furnace with a new heat pump in May. Shawn spent a lot of time with us going over options to find the best deal for our budget, and was very helpful in deciding which unit(s) would best serve our needs. He showed me what wasn't right as well as how it should look - so I can tell the difference later. He then offered a couple options - all without any pressure. My fireplace wasn't putting out a lot of heat, and wasn't sure what the problem was. Shawn arrived on time to check out the fireplace and told me that I had a electric fireplace, not a gas fireplace. Since he had removed parts of the fireplace, he inspected it and found out the reason the fireplace wasn't working was the electric motor and light bulb had burnt out. Shawn, Scott, and Nick replaced our gas furnace with an all electric heat pump. They were fantastic. Our house is unique, and the job required some custom linework, placement of the exterior unit, and ductwork. The handled it all beautifully. We had Green Bear come out to clean and adjust our gas log fireplace. They were very prompt, courteous, and communicated really well. They did a great job and our old gas logs look lke new and are so much easier to use now that they repaired the manual on off switch. Great company and will definitly use them again if needed. Andres was very responsive to my questions and were open to handling the permit, which is often a challenge with other contractors. Adrian showed up promptly for install, arriving on time and got right to work. He was very thorough and the install looked great when he got done. You can tell he takes pride in his work. The issue I had with Greentop is the warranty registration, which was incorrectly registered with my name and contact info as the dealer. I traded a couple e-mails with Vera and was then ghosted. I ended up calling the manuf myself to have them at least correct the name of the dealer on my warranty registration to Greentop. They advised they couldn't change the contact info. I'm hoping I don't have any warranty issues down the line due to their error.

I didnt get good vibes from the original company when I asked them about repairs and warranties, especially when I asked them why it failed and why I should expect it to not fail again. Mark was super helpful. There were actually somehow multiple spots where the line set was kinked and leaking due to the original installers error. Mark was able to find and fix these leaks very quickly and he seemed very trustworthy and honest. If I have any issues I will definitely call them again
