I have been going to Seema Spa since I moved to Columbus. I have tried many services through the years. I even came here preparing for my engagement. I get my eyebrows threaded here. They do them for a great price and are able to keep my thick and arched shape that I like. They also have waxing services, which make you come out feeling soft and smooth (like any wax makes you feel). Their facials are affordable and hydrating. The pearl facial is one I used to get often. They were also able to accomodate me within a week so I can have my engagement henna done before flying out for it. If you tell them in advance, they will make the henna themselves or get specific henna based on your needs. They also have some jewelry and dresses you can buy near the front seating area. read more

I LOVE Seema! I have been going to her for years since I was in high school. Her shop is always clean and relaxing with music. I had the worst experience at the salon today. Went for full arm and underarm waxing . There were two people waxing my hand and after job is done , they couldn't wait until the customer gets dressed and leave the room but instead felt that it's okay for them to get their underarms done. I should mention it was awkward since it was a small room . My experience doesn't get better , I wanted to get my face wax done and the person who is waxing my face was so clumsy or in a hurry not sure , dripped the wax right into my eye . I didn't hear an apology either from the person who did my waxing ( all I heard was giggling and talking in their own language ) nor the owner which was pretty surprising . Great eyebrows, fast, inexpensive I always come here to get my eyebrows done, and for only $7!! You're in and out within 10 minutes with nicely shaped, trimmed, cleaned brows. If you can, get the owner to do your threading. She has a very gentle touch so it hurts less. I haven't tried their spa services, but they're very reasonably priced as well. As a Columbusian (Columbusite?) for the past 8 or so years, I've been coming to Seema's to get my eyebrows threaded for a while now. In fact, our love-hate relationship started way back in the day when you could get eyebrows done for only $5! It's $7 now, which is still pretty cheap, but I expect the price to continue to increase bit by bit due to the high demand. Pros: - Like I said, decently cheap - Available walk-ins, as other Yelpers have mentioned, so you can be in and out in 15-20 mins if there isn't a long wait - They put on soothing lotion after threading, which lessens the slight burn, but sometimes you have to specifically ask for that. - Compared to waxing, threading your eyebrows lasts longer (at least 3-4 weeks for me) - Seema is very friendly. I've often heard her ask her long-time customers "how their vacation went" or "what their plans after college are" Cons: - You have to keep track of your own place in line when you walk in. So make sure to note who all is in the waiting room when you get there, or else someone who walks in later may go ahead of you - Do check your eyebrows in the mirror afterwards because each time, there have been little baby hairs that they have forgotten to remove, or have left one eyebrow a bit thicker than the other. This is a recurring pattern that I have run into each time I'm there. - When you do ask them to fix your eyebrows after noticing above, sometimes they have a very "ugh-do-I-have-to" attitude about it. I just want pretty eyebrows, and I'm paying for it goshdarnit! I'll keep coming back here for now, but there is room for improvement in terms of their service. read more

Some people are nervous about threading because of fear it'll hurt. It does, but just like with waxing, you get used to it over time. I'm a huge advocate of threading over wax because threading is less harsh on my skin and the end result is typically a more natural looking brow. Plus, you can't beat the price. Eyebrows are only $7 and there is a loyalty punch card. Waxing typically put me back at least $20. If you go during lunch or on weekends, the wait time can be long. Seems Salon is by far the best place in Columbus to get your eyebrows threaded. I've been coming here for years and consistently get beautifully shaped brows. Multiple people have complimented me on them including other stylists. It doesn't matter which beautician you get - you'll get great results with any of them. Don't expect anything fancy or chic when you come here because the salon itself is very modest and plain. But with that also comes modest prices. Recently got one of their packages with facial + full leg wax + threading with great results at a steal of a price compared to other salons. The waxing was a no frills event. Occurred in a tiny room with two girls tag teaming it - one applying the wax and the other placing the strips and ripping them off. Perhaps not the most traditional wax experience, but it was certainly the most efficient full leg wax I've ever had in my life. Plus, none of that nonsense about the groin somehow not counting as your leg and being the 'bikini' area. Got waxed all the up to my thigh crease at no extra charge. The facial was more what I expected with soothing music, a comfortable heated bed, and mood lighting. Came with a head/neck massage, hand massage, exfoliation, extraction, and mask. I really wanted to like this place due to the cheap prices, but as most of us know you get what you pay for. The service is a hit or a miss. I've actually walked out of this place with sticky wax under my arms and nickel sized patches of hair remaining. The young woman instructed me to go home and remove the remaining wax (which was quite a bit) with a warm towel. They don't have a sign in sheet, so they have no idea who arrived first or second or last for that matter. They rush services to get on to the next person. The place might as well be one of those unsanitary, nail salons that are everywhere! It's a factory-like production designed to get as many people in and out and as quickly as possible. Needless to say, I will not return after giving them three opportunities to prove me wrong! I'd rather spend more money on better service. read more

I've been meaning to review Seema Salon for a while. I've been getting my eyebrows threaded here for about a year and 1/2. There are about 4 different women threading on any given day so I've never had to wait longer than 10 mins for a walk-in. Once you sit down it is super fast. Only takes about 5 mins. The price is reasonable too. It costs about $7 for brows and I believe $4 for upper lip. If you're a newbie- no need to worry. They'll let you know what you need to do, and it's not any more painful than waxing. I never request a certain threader, because they all do a great job. read more

DO NOT go here for hair - hair cut, hair dye, even just a trim. They over charge like crazy and ruined my hair!! I could've done it myself at home and it would've turned out better. They took too much off with the trim, and the hair dye DID NOT match at all what I wanted. It looks like I went to the dollar store and did it there. Looks so cheap. I now have to go find another place to fix it before I go back to work. AWFUL! They act like they know what they are doing, but THEY DO NOT! I've come here twice because all of my friends told me to come here and ask for Farah; the first time I came she significantly thinned out my eyebrows which I wasn't a fan of, but I didn't ask her to keep them thick so I figured that was my fault. I came back today after two months (!) of growing them out until I was finally satisfied with their thickness. I asked her to keep them thick and just clean them up, but she thinned them out even more than she did the last time, now my lower arches which I had grown out are completely thinned out and they're also uneven. Super disappointing experience, going to need to find somewhere else to get threaded that can actually keep my brows thick when I ask them to. read more

I've been going here to get my eyebrows done a couple of times and they are just the best. Perfect results, no pain (threading) and good esthetic sense. Plus, it's only $7! Today, I also got a haircut and the hair stylist is the nicest person ever. The cut was very well done, very professional and just $17 for long hair: AMAZING! I called at 600 to see if they would be able to take me before I drove the 20 to get there because they closed at 7.
