I got a full leg and full Brazilian yesterday and the results were not as expected. I was hand showering the excess wax off my legs when I got home just after the service. As I was running my hands over my legs felt like 2 day old stubble. I noticed a good amount of hair left, though now it's just mega short. It was ripped off, not ripped out. I'd say looking at the success rate, was about 50%. Half ripped from the bottom, half just ripped in half. And on the inside of both of my thighs, there is just a 4x4 inch patch just still there. I also thought my tech would get more butt crack but no. Also, feet and toes were supposed to be part of the leg package and she didn't do them at all. My tech was incredibly friendly, professional, and sanitary. She was fantastic. I really liked her as a person. But the service itself was not at all what I expected. I hadn't shaved in at least a month, more like 2. I scrubbed my legs every night for a week prior, knowing that I was getting waxed today. And did a wash even just before leaving the house. So I'm not sure why so many hairs broke and were left over other than improper techniques. I certainly have photos to show. They look good from far away, but half of the hairs were just broken. I'm very sad I have to make this review, but I'm appalled at how I was treated and how the situation was handled and feel I do need to warn other people. I have been coming to EWC Bethel for about a year and a half now and have always loved my experiences, the waxers I've had are amazing people and do an amazing job. The other side of this business, however, has horribly mistreated me. I called the morning of my appointment to reschedule it for another day and everything appeared fine. A few days later or the next day I received an email saying I had missed my appointment, even though I had called to reschedule for a different day. I had a family emergency occur so I was unable to call them until the day that I had rescheduled my appointment for. The lady who answered the phone was the lady I had spoken to previously to reschedule my appointment. I explained the situation to her, I told her I had called to reschedule but still somehow received an email saying I had missed my appointment and that they had charged me. I know they have a cancellation/no-show policy, but I had called and rescheduled my appointment so I was hoping to receive my money back as I had done nothing wrong. Oh was I wrong. The lady I spoke to refused to acknowledge she had messed up, after speaking back and forth for over 10 minutes she told me she'd take a look at my invoice and see if there was anything she could do. Right after she said that she HUNG UP on me and did not call me back, not that day and not even the next. I had a few wax passes left on my account but I refuse to go back after the way this was (not) handled. Now I'm out all of this money when I did nothing wrong. Very angry, frustrated, and upset because I did love my waxer. Think twice before coming here and giving them your money, they obviously don't value their loyal customers and they're very disrespectful! read more

If you are looking for a waxer, Anita is the best! I have been to several waxers at this location for Brazilians and needed a new one again after staffing changes. Anita was fantastic!!! She is fast, thorough, and overall does a great job. I felt much less pain than I normally do as a result. Just received a threatening phone call from an associate at the Bethel location saying I owe an outstanding balance from 2018. I immediately called back and spoke to the store manager, who is probably the rudest person I've ever spoken to. I explained to her I cancelled my payment plan after I moved to a new city - the location I cancelled the plan OK'd this with no consequences. She lied and said she's been calling me for over a year trying to receive this payment - today's the first day I received a phone call after I cancelled my plan in November 2018 and I called back RIGHT away. The Manager repeatedly spoke to me like a robot and wasn't understanding nor wanted to hear me explain myself. She continued to cut me off and state "well our policy is". She finally looked in the system and confirmed the conversation I had with the location that told me it was okay to cancel my plan. After confirming this, she kept threatening to send me to collections. I'm appalled at European Wax Centers poor communication between locations and how they treat their customers. They didn't even have my correct information! They had in their system I live in Florida - funny because I lived in Florida BEFORE I went to the Bethel location. Never will I ever walk in an European Wax Center again nor recommend anyone to use their services. read more

I've been coming here for awhile and it's always been great! If you've never checked it out, you totally should! They give you a free wax on your first visit! Haha, feel free to tell them I referred you! jk...sort of ;) But seriously, you should try this place. If you like to get regular waxes, their wax pass prices can't be beat. They use a high quality hard wax which is super gentle on your skin and hurts less than soft wax + strips. I've seen a handful of people over the past two years and they've all be awesome but I usually see Caitlin. She's great! Fast, efficient, friendly and does a great job. What more could you ask for!?! Also, they give you points every time you book your next appointment - and once you've accumulated enough points they give you $ off your next purchase. I've never had any issues, but a friend didn't have a great experience on her first visit and when she contacted the manager, they made everything right for her. That's the mark of a great business. so I get waxed for years. my waxer was rushing and this time left my entire vag in ingrown hairs! I mean she broke every hair and this is the 2nd time I have left with all broken hair and not out from the roots. I told the front desk my issue and she was very rude. I asked for the best waxer for my skin and she made racist remarks, refused to give me the director name i finally got Cheryl the gm but I really had to push for that she told me to make a Yelp review which I didn't understand just get me a better waxer. she gave me anxiety talking to her. When I first walked in I was nicely greeted and checked in. The decor was beautiful and clean. My tech came out quickly and took me to the room. My first complaint is she did not leave the room to allow me to get comfortable. As she did my service we talked, she mentioned how the company booked her and how she only had so much time and she spoke about their products of course. She was finish with my services very quickly. Pinched my skin as she removed a few hairs with tweezers. She then immediately began to clean up and spray the cleaner in the small closed room. I noticed that hair was still left behind. There were also a few hairs that were broken and not completely removed most likely from being pulled in the wrong direction. The area was very sore and tender after the wax which was surprising because I never had that happen. I expected less carelessness walking into such a nice place. A very nice thing they do is call and check on how your service went. After sharing my experience they did offer me some kind of special I don't remember but I don't want a free hand out I want a better experience and I think its very important for a tech to take their time with their customers, make them feel comfortable and not rushed in any way. read more

Total ripoff. No discussion as to what would happen. There was a tiny bit of chatting, but she told me she was cleansing the site. Then she waxed me. Then she put some kind of cream on my back and claimed we were all done. The whole procedure took less than ten minutes. $50 for less than ten minutes with no discussion as to what to do afterwards. So, basically $5 per minute for a poor job of service and the job that was done. I ended up breaking out. She missed a portion of the back of my neck (below the collar line). I ended up having to shave the missed spot myself. And I was never offered what was supposed to come with the wax. I also had stubble within three days. I sent a facebook message and they were tone deaf. They told me to go back to where the procedure was done. I rarely go up to where the spa is. I only went there because they were open on a Sunday and I needed it done that day. In closing, a shitty, incomplete job, screwed on the free offer with shitty service, and a shitty response. read more

So far, I am not impressed with this place. I came in for a complimentary underarm wax. I just relocated to Columbus and was hoping to find a waxing place to replace my amazing waxer in Virginia. For the entire time that I was there, the receptionist and waxer were trying to sell me something. I hate that!! I prefer places that do such a good job that they don't have to beat you over the head with products and services to get you to come back. Even the whole time that my waxer, Katy, was doing my underarms, she was talking about why I should buy products. During the wax, she did only two strips of wax on each underarm. I have been waxing for over six months now and in the past waxers have used 4-6 strips per underarm. (Underarms are unique in that they have hair that grows in many different directions.) Then Katy commented on how my hair was breaking off instead of pulling out by the root and she told me that it was because my hair wasn't "nourished." She then recommended products that would nourish my hair so it doesn't break off anymore. But my hair had never broken off like that in the past. I went home and googled why that would happen and found out that it happens when waxers don't apply wax in the direction of hair growth and rip in the direction against hair growth. So disappointing. I have a ton of regrowth and its only been a few days since the wax. It's like I shaved instead of waxed. Another complaint I have is that I booked the appointment with Kim because of her good reviews and then ended up with a different waxer. I hope that was a one-time mistake because I plan to give this place another chance and book with either Kelly or Kim, both of whom have good reviews. I will update after a second visit and hopefully a better experience. read more

Cheats...SCAMMERS! Do not go to this location! Service was good. After service? Not so much. I got an underarm wax. It's $21--$22.47 with tax. I asked to add an 18% tip, which should have been an additional $3.78. At first, the lady quoted me $31? After I repeated myself and made her redo it, she quoted $28.58. I was a bit thrown off from the first amount--and clearly couldn't do the fast math, but once I got in my car, I calculated and saw she still lied and overcharge me $2.33. Because of how aggressive she was when I asked her to redo it the first time, I am guessing this is common practice for cashiers there. This is the location I regularly stop into about once or twice a month, but not anymore! They just lost a loyal customer over $2.33. Stupid. I may hit another location--but I'll be sure to pay cash only, or go to Glow by Carey. read more

You get greeted by the nicest girls at the front counter that check you in. The staff was super friendly and i got my wax done by Kelly who was very easy going and distracted me the whole time with great conversation. I went in for a bikini wax before going on vacation with my friends. The wax itself was great--not very painful, quick, and the lady who waxed me was very friendly. However, when I went to the front to pay for my service, the receptionist was extremely rude and unprofessional. She asked me when I wanted to schedule my next wax, and I said I wasn't sure of my availability and that I would call later to schedule an appointment. She asked if I was available on a certain day, and even though I told her I was not, she proceeded to schedule me an appointment on that day and told me I could just call to reschedule it. I thought that was very strange. Then she started telling me about all the waxing memberships they offer, and I told her I wasn't interested. She would not drop it even though I told her I wasn't looking to buy a membership multiple times. I just wanted to pay for the one service I got done today, but she kept insisting I buy a membership. After about the 5th time I said no thank you, she became very rude towards me and made it seem like not waxing consistently is bad. Overall, the wax itself was good but I won't be returning. I was very turned away by the receptionist's pushiness and I don't think this is the way paying customers should be treated. read more

Waxes done: eyebrows, upper lip, Brazilian Caitlin was amazing- she made the experience as painless as possible and was very friendly. She and I talked for a few minutes to plan everything out and she made me feel very confident in her plan and abilities. She checked in with me frequently to make sure everything was done as I wanted, and she did a beautiful job. I loved the hard wax, and have been using their product to prevent ingrown hairs and it has been working well. Gina is so friendly, with the best "bedside manner," and the eyebrows have never looked better! I purchase the eyebrow wax subscription, which is an easy way to make sure I maintain my unruly brows.
