The kids in front of me were having to put it on the side so that way we could try to lick it out and taste it. Thankfully, the caramel apple was hanging down a little bit, so I was able to taste some of that which was so delicious but with it be the holiday season? I would've never known that I liked it otherwise. I wanted to try the peppermint mocha I was not able to and one other One of my favorite yogurt places remains the place that lets us get samples. I don't overdo it. I just like to taste one that I may not have tasted before to add to my yogurt. The other thing is, I don't like having somebody else put my hot fudge or anything else on my yogurt. I am very big on hygiene. I don't know this area. I'm here from out of town. I don't know if they've had troubles with the teens or anything like that but from the last few days of being here in the area seems nice enough that I don't understand why you can't have a sample or put on your own toppings, meaning the hot fudge caramel, etc.

After reading previous review reviews, I was a little apprehensive, walking in knowing what many others had experienced with their customer service. I will say when I walked in there was somebody who promptly greeted me and my husband, when we walked in and made some small talk. As we peruse the store, I did experience a little of what other people were saying as the employee seemed to keep popping up to chat with us as we per the store. I can understand why some customers may think that it may come off as the employees are watching you while you shop. I don't think that was what was happening at all. I think they were trying to definitely just be more friendly and welcoming, but I think they do need to tone down how many times they pop up while you are walking around the store. All of the items they have to offer are a fabulous quality and definitely a great spot to pick up gifts for others. When I'm in the area, I will definitely pop in and shop again.

My friend was coming in to exchange an item or swap it out for another item. After shopping around and finding another jacket that she liked we inspected the jacket because it was white and we wanted to make sure it was free of damage. We came across black marks on all of these white jackets and brought it up to an employee at the front. They attempted to clean it with a paper towel and maybe water? But unfortunately no luck. They mentioned that she could try to clear it with upholstery cleaner after she purchased it but at the price point of over $100 my friend decided to pass. She ended up returning her item and receiving store credit. The reason for my 3/5 rating is due to the expensive clothing being stained and the awkward exchange. Overall, I would come back and give this place a chance when in need of a unique gift.

So driving through the Aptos "hood" yesterday there it was right in front of me. It must have been a sign:-). Luckily for me most of the memorial weekend crowd/ tourists were at the beach a couple of miles away because the place was relatively quiet. So this is a to-go type of ice cream stop. And by that I mean you can order at three different windows which may or may not all be open depending upon the crowd size. There was only one window open today. This is manned by kids. High school kids it looks like. They are doing a relatively good job and are working so who can complain about that. You cannot go inside because there is no inside for customers. However after you order there are a few tables. If there was a large crowd it is first come first "sit". According to the information and signage... batches of the most popular ice creams are made daily right here. I ordered two scoops for $10... a Sea Salt Caramel and a Banana Chocolate Chip. Both were very good. Thick, creamy and went down easy :-). If you are in the neighborhood, I recommend this for a delicious stop! There is plenty of parking because it is located in a large shopping complex. Oh and by the way... if you are shorter than 40 inches you get a free ice cream cone! I tried my hardest but 5 feet 2 inches did not cut it. :)

TJs is a welcome sight. The Santa Cruz area is saturated with grocery choices. From quality, high-end (New Leaf, Delux Market, Shoppers Corner) to the usual suspects (Safeway, Nob Hill). Prices are steep. Away from home, I always hit up TJs for the basics. Breakfast items, fruits, cheeses, snacks, and alcohol. The joy of familiarity is wonderful. And this TJs location is a standout. Super clean, organized and the untraditional store layout which gives a spacious feel so rare in 99.9 percent of TJ stores. The amount of shoppers must be immense... locals and the never ending migration of tourists. Yet the store maintains a fully-stocked inventory and helpful employees. Yes!!! So other than a Piña Colada by the pool, having such an awesome Trader Joe's down the street and around the corner on vacay is priceless! Cheers!

They did get a new wine guy that knows what he is doing to replace Ramon. They consistently have some ultra bargains on random items. The store is kept clean and organized. They do a very good job of having adequate cashiers.

The lady was so very kind and patient with all the samples. I am a huge chocolate fan, but my favorites were the burnt caramel and the basil strawberry. It was peak strawberry season, and the basil was somehow steeped in the milk. It was so, so unique and special. My youngest is a huge mint chocolate chip fan, and settled on the fresh mint with chocolate chips, and that was still somehow unique. I highly recommend this place!

They were already cleaned up (the chairs were stacked, etc), but they insisted they were open and were totally nice about it. For the people who are complaining of the price, I respectfully disagree. This place is not your average ice cream joint. From what I understand, the ice cream is made from scratch using ingredients from local farmers. The flavors are not your basic b*tch flavors, and I can totally appreciate that. My daughter got a single scoop of Fresh Mint Chip. I had a spoonful and it truly tasted like fresh mint, not that artificially flavored green mint chip stuff. I saw the sundae special for the weekend and I just couldn't pass it up. Here's what it was: mochi cakes topped with whipped cream, Tahitian vanilla bean ice cream, blood oranges, toasted almonds, and green tea (matcha) sauce. I couldn't have come up with that combination myself. It was delightful! Overall, we enjoyed it!
