Something special for you to do for your mom or spouse or other candy-loving family member would be to make up a custom box of their favorites for a special occasion. I finally received a message. Huge thank you for replying! So here it is See's Candy is clarifying that the reason my teacher discount was denied is because of the type of gift card that was given to me. *Again, referring it as a discounted gift card. Again, I don't know what that means because this was given to me as a gift from a student. So I googled, and it turns out that discounted gift cards can be purchased through membership organizations: RESDC, funex and COSTCO. So I'm assuming, that the gift card that was given to me as a gift may have been a Costco gift card, because I have never heard of the other vendors. LASTLY, FINAL VERDICT The only reason I'm still giving them a one star review is because I had to send them 3 different messages in order for me to get a response. - I'm very grateful for the response, but I think it would be very helpful for you to clarify what the definition of a discounted gift card actually means because it caused a lot of confusion and in the end, I had to investigate the true definition. -customer service did not really find a solution to the problem. -This gift cards policy is nowhere to be listed on their main webpage or in store so again, this will respectfully cause confusion * I will still use my gift card because I love your candy. Love these chocolates! I grew up with sees candies so it's always a treat to go get some sweets my favorite is the scotchmallow but I also love that there is always something seasonal/new to try! Tonight I attended a wine pairing event at the Carlsbad location and it was amazing, I loved trying new local wines with my favorite chocolates I hope to attend more of these events in the future! read more

Been here several times and I am always greeted with a daily sample of some sort by the kind staffers. Upon my last visit I had used some gift cards I'd received for my birthday and of course I utilized them! And then got some out of pocket purchases too! And at checkout I was given a coupon to return & save for Mother's Day. I gave that to my hubs and sent him on behalf of our kids for my special gift. Of course he got what I call the crunch kits (the nutty ones) that would be his preferred kind. Albeit I do love the bridge mix box on occasion. I need to go back for some softer truffles though !!! Has the sugar been amped up in all See's Candy? I went in for a box of dark chocolate nuts and chews and was sooooo disappointed. The box only came with mixed chocolate , the sweetness was so amped up and no crunch - came away with just soft nuts and a mouthful of sugar. Ugh quality has gone down. read more

Such a sad moment. I know the employees can be tired on the day before Valentine's. However, this employee was completely irritated that I didn't know what to get with my annual Valentine's Day box. They ran out of my husband's favorite chocolate that I get him every single year. So it took me a moment to look she was tapping her fingers, breathing heavily, and told me it had been a long day for her. I smiled and said, "as a Kindergarten teacher of 21 years and 21 Valentine's Day parties. I understand. She said "yah well I've been her 24 years." as a local to North County, I know she's been there a long time. I have seen her since before this location existed, and it was at the Carlsbad Mall. As a long time customer I wanted to give her grace, this being said I didn't appreciate being forced to apologize for her long day. I came as soon as I was off of work, and after I picked up my four children to spend over $50 on expensive chocolate candy that my husband loves. This is the season of hearts, love and chocolate, it should be expected that you would be busy, but to rush me and treat me like I'm a nuisance after I'm spending all this money is uncalled for. Generous with samples, patient with me as I was choosing truffles at the counter (it's hard to choose yummy chocolates quickly, but I also didn't want to hold up the people behind me!!), reeeeally knew their chocolates well! Who doesn't like good, quality chocolate? See's is one of my fave of good chocolate. Occasionally I love to purchase a piece or two of my fave chocolates or a lollipop. But every Christmas time I visit the store to buy some already wrapped boxes of chocolates. It's a signature wrap that everyone is familiar with and excited to receive. I had been coming to the store for years when they used to be located in the mall. Every time I walk into the store it is always clean and organized. The staff is always friendly, and very helpful. You can always count on a complimentary piece of candy as you either enter the store or when you reach the register. You could be sticker shocked by some of the selections but there are a couple of displays that may be more economical. This is a place that I intend to never stop visiting. read more

This review is for their non-profit fundraising program and their fantastic delivery! See's Candies, what an icon - the epitome of great chocolate. My friend Steve used to tell me that at Christmas time he had to limit himself to only eating See's Candies so that it was really worth the calories. For me too, See's is the absolute best! Pre-covid my husband and I would go in to order a custom box. We would have the staff put his choices in brown cups and mine in white so we could tell them apart. (and nobody could "accidentally" eat each other's favorites). It was such a treat! My work had a non-profit fundraiser so of course I had to support it and order chocolates on the custom website. I ordered for myself, for my parents, for myself again, for my coworkers. (and then we ate the chocolates for my coworkers because I didn't see them before Christmas) Luckily for me, we received TWO gift cards for See's Candies for Christmas, so I'm going to order us a custom box, just like old times. read more

They are definitely my favorite candy brand - I only wish we had one in Louisville, Ky! Years ago I fell in love with the Toffee-ettes. A couple new favorites are Cashew Brittle & White Mint Truffle. Yes there candy is good. Got my wife a 2 pound gold box for valentine's day. I asked the lady which box had the best assorted chocolates. Thats what she recommended. All it was was a one pound box twice. So double all the same chocolate. I was like whatever. What really bothered me is that there is no price's on anything so when I was handed a 68 dollar receipt I felt taken. Go to a nice dinner instead is my plan for next year lol. Russle Stover chocolate is not too far off and a quarter of the cost. The staff was sweet as the candy though. So if have the money to blow I'd say go for it. This See's candy location was huge! Full selection of goodies whether you're buying a premade box or hand picking your favorites into a personalized box. See's always seems to be immaculately clean everywhere you go. I was a bit surprised to see only two people working mid day on a Saturday, but the women working seemed nice and offered us a few samples (always a bonus)!! Might be a good idea to staff a bit better on weekends, my only compliant. See's candy is 100% gluten free! They used to have some holiday items that weren't but in 2017 they changed that! It's absolutely amazing to pick anything I want at a store so if you have celiac you definitely need to go here and go nuts! So my friends banks at navy fed and she needed to make a withdrawal. I specifically left my bag in the car so I wouldn't go to sees candy because you know .... peer pressure ....la dieta (the diet) and because I know the chocolate monster I can become near my polar bear paws (white chocolate with peanuts and caramel). Anywho my friend said let's go in I'll buy you a few polar bear paws. FINE!! (Peer pressure is a bishhhh) . I got 2 cups and as we walked out I saw the mothers day boxes and since my mom loves sees candy I decided to make her a box. The lady asked us if it was for mothers day about 3 times so she knew I was choosing specific chocolate for my momma. As I finished my box I remembered my bag was in the car so as I ran out. The sees worker states "it's over a pound" and I was like perfect it's fine! :) Apprently she kept telling my friend if I would be okay... I mean hello it's my mom IDGAF how much it is. I ran out real quick and my best friend tells me the lady told her they don't have mothers day wrapping paper. My best friend saw at least 10 boxes around the store with the mothers day wrapping and bow so she mentioned wrapping my box in that, and the worker was like "no those were free but we ran out". My best friend was surprised of the lady's attitude regarding a simple box and wrapping for mothers day. She clearly knew it was for my mom and you could clearly hear us talk about the pretty bow and box. The lady kept telling my friend those free boxes were not allowed to be given until a manager saw my friends confused face. This is when I walked back in from getting my keys. My box was put into the mothers day box and i mentioned the bow and the worker stated " my manager very nicely allowed me to give this to you". No speak of the bow. Good God over a box and bow?? I just spend over 25 bucks for a pretty box and bow and you couldn't even give the customer a stupid bow without an attitude? Soooooo no worries I can make my own bow!!! Sheesh ....if my mom didn't like the chocolate so much I would have left it there. Someone greets you when you enter and offers you a free sample. Sweet. We looked around and was offered assistance. My son made his purchases and so did I. Quick Easter Candy Run! As soon as I walked in I was offered a free sample of the chocolate of my choosing from a sweet lady walking about. Love that! I quickly found what I needed and proceeded to the display case to build a small box of my favorite pieces...to my surprise I was offered another free sample and was advised on which pieces to try! Call me old fashioned, but I am a huge fan of See's. Yes, we get Godiva chocolates and yes, we love them. But...See's has a very special place in my heart and for my chocolate needs, I still prefer See's . Growing up, I always remember my family randomy stopping at See's to pick up a box and that box sitting on our coffee table for several days before each of them were devoured. And without fail, I always remember my Dad picking up boxes of See's Candies for neighbors in our culdesac every year for Christmas. It was just a thing we always did for the holidays. Now as an adult, I've kept the same tradition in our household. I'm found at See's throughout the year but especially during the holidays. I always seem to pick up at least 4 boxes of See's during the holidays and cute little holiday chocolates for stocking stuffers for the family. The kids love it and so the adults. I usually do my shopping earlier in December but with a busy social calendar and out of town visits, it was put off until a few days before Christmas. Coming in, I was afraid there would not be a very good supply of these items but I was pleasantly suprised I was able to get everything I needed; 1lb cans of toffeetts, holiday milk chocolate balls, peppermint twists for stocking stuffers and the staples...several boxes of the 1 and 2lb Nut and Chew Assortment Box. Whew!!! There was a line of 6 or so people in line but they had enough workers to get through the line quickly. Since I didn't need anything from the case, I was able to get through a little quicker. It took me longer to find parking than it did for me to get rang up for my purchases. Service at this location was friendly and effecient...exactly what I needed during my last minute Christmas purchase scramble. read more

What is happening?? Hi Dad, u will get a kick out of this "life hiccup" event. Obviously, this is a silly situation on the scale of serious events but I just had to share... so I have been mailing Sees chocolates out to loved ones for 30 years. On Friday, I ordered your Sees, Peter's brother, & my one good friend Sees. It was different this time as they did not ask for my account number, and I had to laboriously retell them every single address, name, phone #, message, etc... finally after 30 minutes of recreating what they should of had in their files, I gave them my credit card number... it was rejected (even though I have used this card for 2 weeks straight with no problems), then I gave them two more credit card numbers.. all rejected!! I spoke with the manager & she said it was on the "Sees" side & they were blocking me from ordering!! Fast forward to today, Monday, and I am waiting for her call, she was going to try & straighten it out. Since Friday, I have gone online and tried to purchase my order under Peter's name, under a different email address, etc... nothing is working. I have hours of my time invested in just trying to order their chocolates and I am pissed that they are so incompetent for some reason this year!! Did they change ownership?, something is differently different. I am almost done with ever ordering anything from them ever again. I go to See's only once a year after the holidays to use a gift certificate I'm given. The place is always super clean and staff very friendly. Helpful as can be and generous with the samples. Since I look at the menu of what they have on their website and make a list of what I'd like to get ahead of time, I'm able to get in and out of there pretty quickly.
