I looked up Carlsbad Cookie Company since my two orders were for the Carlsbad area. Ordering was easy. I had hoped they could deliver the cookies themselves instead of going through the mail, but didn't push for that. They say 1-2 days to process, baking Monday through Thursday. My first order was 4/14/26. My second order was 4/21/26. Today is 4/28. Both were received on 4/27. Needless to say, I was getting agitated when I hadn't heard from my friends that they received the cookies. 1-2 days processing? I calculate 9 days, not including weekends for the first order (although they're mailed so I should count Saturday). Second order, 4 days. So nothing like 1-2 days processing. Unless processing means, putting them in the box and slapping a mailing label on it, not the overnight shipping I think I paid for. Personally, if I have my shop in Carlsbad, both boxes were to be delivered in Carlsbad. Why not just deliver them in the way home or coming into work? Why add that extra time? I paid enough on shipping to cover the gas and it would save time and ensure freshness. ‍ Regardless, both recipients said the cookies were good. I'm not sure if I would buy here again, I was fuming yesterday in my mind saying I was going to have to call the company and ask, where the heck are my cookies? Luckily both recipients texted saying they received them last night. read more

Undeniably one of the most delectable treats I've EVER tasted!!! My experience with shortbread has always been a mixed one. Once I was staying at a Bed & Breakfast Inn and the Innkeeper laid out afternoon sherry and treats. I poured myself a glass, looked down, and thought, "Oh, it's a giant cookie!", grabbed it, and went back to my room. When I went down for a 2nd glass the Innkeeper was cursing saying, "Someone took the WHOLE shortbread off the table and now I have to bake another one for the guests!" Oops. A few years later a Malaysian friend baked my family a shortbread. My Mom and I sat down for afternoon tea, took a bite of it, and we both spat it out! It was the most foul tasting cookie we'd ever tasted! We then tried giving some to my Mom's poodle Gigi and she spat it out too!!! Then we called our friend who told us it was a "Durian Shortbread". Ugh! No wonder it smelled funny! Fast forward to this past weekend to when, what I thought was an Amazon.com delivery, my doorbell rang. I saw someone leave a package but then she ran my doorbell again. I cautiously opened my door, holding my cellphone ready to call 911, thinking it might be my crazy neighbor who's hooked on prescription painkillers. Lord have mercy! It was the super nice lady from the Carlsbad Cookie Company!!! So my clients in SF, wanting to treat me and also wanting to support my nearby local businesses, sent me a large box of their Handcrafted Artisan Shortbreads!!! Thank you so much Greta, Barbara, and Erica!!! Each cookie is individually wrapped which makes the germaphobe in me very happy. Unlike other shortbreads that I've tasted, these are feather light, not overly sweet, and MOIST!!! The flavors are so delicate and satisfying and they are a perfect any time of day treat or dessert! It's hard for me to write this review...without feeling like a total pig! I couldn't stop eating the cookies!!! I have only ever tried these cookies at the local farmers market, and I'm somewhat embarrassed to say i would sample only for the chance to eat them, with no intention of buying- because i live alone and i cannot have a bunch-a-cookies lying around... Holly is so accommodating and friendly. They have gluten free dairy free options, which are amazing!! I ordered a big cookie platter for my company party, two cookie baskets for gifts and a couple gluten free, dairy free cookies. The presentation was so festive and Holly really paid attention to the details on each cookie. They arrive individually wrapped (this is so great). Amazing lemon shortbread cookie! Simply the best lemon cookie I've ever had. I was at the Carlsbad Village Fair and I purchased two of the variety boxes of 8 for gifts. I love how the cookies are in the shape of Ranauculus Flowers and individually wrapped! I gave them as gifts to my mom and mother in law.
