This is a very cool old school freestanding See's Candy location. It is located right across the street from Mesa Community College, and I'd be willing to bet that most visiting parents get a box of chocolates from their college son or daughter when they come to visit. You enter from the blistering heat (it is July) and are welcomed by the cool air conditioning and a nice woman with a box of samples. I took a milk chocolate, and my wife went with a dark chocolate. Both were delicious and we ate them as we picked out some lollipops and three selections of chocolates each. We were also given a scratch-off coupon for a future visit, guaranteeing that we will be back. This is the perfect stop for grabbing some See's without the hassle of walking an entire mall to find their store. This is a great See's. The people are friendly and helpful and their stock is usually better than the mall locations. There's not a lot of parking, but I'm usually not hanging out too long. Have you had your daily dose of Vitamin See's yet? I came in to pick up a gift for a friend in this recently renovated location and what a treat. It has the same old fashion charm and black and white scheme. Free sample? Why not!? My top three favorites: - Polar Bear Paw: Roasted, salted peanuts and vanilla caramel. - Dark Scotchmallow: Honey marshmallow and vanilla caramel. The Dark Coffee and Milk Caramel Apple variants are also a tasty treat. Dark Scotchmallow as a pumpkin shape are superior than all the Scotchmallows. - Toffee-ette: Crunchy toffee with almonds. The holiday flavors are usually pretty great as well. I would argue that See's Candies are the GOAT of generic holiday gifts. Chocolates are more loved than the generic holiday candle and/or lotion set you can gift anyone. Who doesn't love a box of chocolates? See's has been around since 1921. That's 103 years of sweetness! It was such a fun grand re opening, they remodeled after 20+ years in the same location. Lots of yummy free give aways. I stocked up on 8 boxes of the Egg Nog Truffles for my son. I live 5 min away so I'm a regular getting my sugar free chocolate bars and my guilty pleasure....a Bordeaux Bar. The staff in here is super nice and always helpful. Pricing is on the higher side but they are so worth it as a treat. I wish they had a frequent buyer program with free birthday gift and earning rewards. Who doesn't like free samples. Yummy ! It's always fun to enter a candy shop and smell the wonderful chocolate! Today I entered this Sees and the smell of disinfectant totally permeated the air. I could hardly breathe. When the girl was packing my candy her thumb she had been cleaning with was touching each candy paper as she loaded them into the box. Seriously? How about cleaning when customers will not be entering the store! I had to leave. Will not return and I was so happy they are open again. I was going to spend quite a bit of money. See's is so special and nostalgic, and the candies are in a class of their own. So now that my husband and I have health issues that require cutbacks on sweet and salty goodies, we get smaller amounts and savor them that much more. This cute little shop on Southern has always been my favorite, and I try to patronize it at every opportunity so it will stay open for seasonal treats. In the past staffers were so friendly and enthusiastic, and seemed to join with the customers in celebrating the See's heritage. Unfortunately recent visits to the shop haven't been the same. The workers seem more robotic and unsmiling, almost as though they're being watched. I recently purchased my small portions and got the feeling I was in the way. As I took my bag, there was none of the traditional exchange of thanks, just averted eyes and silence. Really disappointing, and far from nostalgic. But it won't be enough to spoil our enjoyment of the delectable See's candies. I just hope the shop gets back to its old self soon. read more

I went there at 10 a.m. on Easter eve and the place was packed! They are a well-oiled machine. There were two people behind the chocolate display, and another employee working the register. There was a guy ordering, sheesh..200$ worth of assorted chocolates??? Maybe more?, and the person helping him was a total pro! He offered suggestions while another lady quickly packaged the items. Anyway, my family had been visiting this location for about 25 years for ribbon candy, stocking stuffers, etc. I've never had a bad experience. Lastly, the candy is incredible. From the sour gummies to the truffles... it's ridiculously fresh and incredibly balanced (never too sweet, sour, salty) . I love that they are still popular and clean and friendly as they've ever been. read more

See's Candies, amazing is always! It is very small, and is Open only seasonal. It's not closed. They're just only open during the holiday season. I'm not exactly sure for what length of time, But if you just call the number you'll be able to figure out if they're open or not. I would recommend calling this location before going to it. I really like the service at this location, it's much better than the Chandler mall location. No matter how busy this place gets you are ALWAYS greeted with a smile and a free sample. I walked into this store to buy chocolates for Mother's Day. The store was busy with a long line. I think Warren Buffet must have decided to go with the "I love Lucy" chocolate episode act for the day. Lucy and Ethel were the only 2 working behind counter and could not mentally keep up with the growing lines with their apparent flusterings. Their comedic inability to multi task did not help with customers who could not make up minds on which chocolate to choose and kept wanting chocolate choices listed under the "out of stock" list. Poor Ethel looked like deer in head light only kept glancing at the wall clock for her shift to end, but to be met by an unfortunate phone call for a large special order. I think Lucy at some point started to tell the people in line with rolling eyes that the Chandler Mall store has more chocolate selections left. At that point, I paid for my box of chocolates. Asked for a sample truffle and bid Lucy adieu. The chaotic service would have landed this store a 1 star from me, but the side comedy earned them an extra star. read more

Tried to go here today, apparently they are closed until mid april and only open for a few weeks.
