This place is filled with candy, candy and more candy! You can buy candy by the bulk here as well as individual candy. They also sell plenty of trinkets, stuffed animals and toys. It's a little pricey but there are some reasonably priced items. You can browse the store and I am sure you will find a few "must haves." I wish I'd actually looked up the reviews before taking my son here but I figured it was just another one of those cute touristy candy shops that are overpriced, yes, but for the sake of good quality nostalgic candy. Not the case. I was already a little disappointed in the variety at first glance (no licorice wheels??) and then the staff was just not it. Unfriendly and borderline rude. My child picked out a few gum balls and a cute little heart marker that has multiple colors nested in one pen after looking at everything. The gimbals were pretty hard and lost flavor quickly. I think all the candy doesn't move much and is a little..stale? And then, the $6 marker didn't work at all. Completely dry! If we'd had time and it made sense, I would have gone back to return it. Alas, it did not. My recommendation? Skip this place and do the ice cream shop upstairs instead for a treat. read more

Man, can you smell of sugar or what after a full day and a few spots nearby we decided to stop in for a little treat. The selection was huge and the store was very clean and organized. Prices were a bit expensive to me depending on what you got and it's not somewhere I would probably frequent. But my niece really had fun and picked out a few things to take home service was pretty much nonexistent. We saw one employee the entire time who was at the register and besides telling us what our total was, she didn't really speak. Good candy selection, but again not somewhere. I'd probably come back to intentionally unless in the area. read more

Their selection of Jelly Belly jelly beans is smaller than what you'd find at a candy store in a mall. They're sugardrop cany shoppe is a cute little candy shoppe in the arizona boardwalk. The employees are always nice to the adults and children and always helpful about how many candies average a 1/4 pond so we stay in our limits. Sugar Drop Candy Shop is a store located at the Arizona Boardwalk, right next to the OdySea Aquarium. My daughter and I stopped in on a Tuesday afternoon during Christmas week, visiting from Las Vegas. There is a wide selection of candy! The store was clean, well organized, and inventory was fully stocked! You can choose your own candy by using one of Sugar Drop's Candy Bag, scoop it, and then weigh it. I thought the pricing was pretty expensive though! There are also pre-package candy as well as some unique flavorings! At the front register, Sugar Drop Candy also has offerings of baked goods such as brownies, muffins, fudge, cookies and more! On the wall, there is a selection to choose from Jelly Beans too! A cute candy store. Unfortunately the man working there was a bit rude and he seemed to dislike children. My daughter was asking questions and his responses were short; it felt like he was annoyed... seems like a good place to work if you like children. The staff members name was Logan. My other child took a sample gummy and the man yelled at him... my son promptly left the store as he was upset by the aggressive interaction; there are signs that say no sampling but they are at the eye level of my husband and I. It would be wise to place them lower at childrens eye level. My husband returned to the store and provided feedback to which Logan's response was dismissive, like he did not care. On our way back from lunch we had to stop at the Sugar Drop Candy Shop! My girls saw this place and about lost it. You think they had won the lottery. So bright and colorful! Full of candy and toys galore. Being a health nut and the girls just toddlers we picked a couple of pur favorites and headed to the register. Aubrey was working today. Some young girls had come in with a bit of sass and their masks were down to their chins. Aubrey kindly reminded them to please put them on. The girls put them on with plenty of attitude and Aubrey did a fantastic job making light of it! She even told thrm thank you and thry got 5 gold stars for being such good sports. They were pretty cool after that. Check put was a breeze and we were on our way. I saw some reviews about being over charged. I was asked if I wanted a receipt and I had said no thank you. I was concerned so I looked online really fast and pur charge was correct. We have yet to conquer the OdySea Adventure so you bet we will be back for treats again! read more

Stale old candy $19.80 a pound is criminal. Went on a Sunday and the shop was EMPTY at a busy location.

This store offers a nice selection of bulk candy, but unfortunately uses dishonest practices to inflate the prices. The sign says $4.95/lb. They tried to charge $15 for less than 1/4 lb. of candy, and I watched him pressing down on the scale when ringing us up. I asked to come around and see the scale, and they said sorry we're not allowed to. We just walked out laughing. read more

We will never be back here, unfortunately. It's really cute but everything is beyond ridiculously overpriced. I let my daughter grab what she wanted which didn't look to be that much but it rang up to over $70 which it was clearly not worth. This is a Candy Shop located right outside the OdySea Aquarium on the first floor. Great location for business since you have to pass it in order to get to the parking lot. The first time I went was the day after they opened and I was very impressed by how clean and organized the shop was. I purchased a few of the self serve bulk candy that u scoop yourself, weigh, and then pay. A couple weeks later I returned with my son and he chose similar candy and a similar amount. This time the total cost was 3 times more than the amount I had paid the first time I came. I questioned the cashier right away and she just shrugged and didn't care that there was such a huge discrepancy. No customer service skills whatsoever. I returned a third time today and the shop was much more crowded and dirty. Some of the scoopers were broken and the candy appeared unfresh. I wanted to leave right away but my son insisted I buy him some bulk candy. So once again I scooped his candy and it was weighed and I paid a similar amount to the FIRST time I came! So I know the second time I came I was definitely overcharged by over $15! I'm not impressed by this place at all. The cashier today didn't say hi, didn't ask if I found everything I was looking for, as a matter of fact she didn't say one word to me, and she didn't even give me a bag to carry the candy out. She just looked pissed and miserable. I will never come back again and will make sure I park in a different location so my son wont see this place again upon exiting the aquarium. read more

From the minute we walked in Logan was extremely condescending and giving smart remarks to the questions asked. He was not friendly at all. His energy made us leave the shop immediately. Took my 6yr old here after a day at the aquarium and walked out without buying anything. The place had an off putting smell and he wasn't interested. There were two women working... one seemed to be the manager. She made loud comments on how she does not want to hire anyone with tattoos or piercings. (I have a full sleeve and 3 nose piercings) She said that they were a family entertainment industry and that look wasn't appropriate. They were super excited to be there but unfortunately as soon as we walked in the man working at the register informed us we only had 4 minutes to shop and then he was closing. Yikes. I hurried my girls through the store but unfortunately the experience was ruined. I honestly didn't want to buy anything from this store but I couldn't say no to my kids since this was a special day. I particularly was excited to come to this store because of prior experiences here and exclusively loved the jelly belly selection.. i was mostly excited because i wanted Lemon jelly belly's.. we get there and i grabbed my bag and started pouring the lemon jelly belly's.. except nothing came out.. i tried other flavors and same thing.. nothing..i asked the register lady and she said the jelly belly's were stuck cause of the humidity and i wud have to wait untill they unclump together to be able to buy any.. i felt she didn't wana help.. she seemed like she was having a bad morning.. i walked out very disappointed and sad.. not sure i will be returning. read more

A not so sweet experience. By all appearances this is a great little candy shop located within the OdySea compound in Scottsdale Arizona. You have no choice but to walk past the store to get to just about anything and it's brightly colored with fun gum drops outside. However the candy inside is not up to any level of standard that is except a bowl the taffy is beyond rockhard and probably has not been changed in quite a while. The Caramell's are chewy and again I think that they have been there for quite a bit. Your best bet is to purchase already packaged items from different distributors or manufacturers and not the item they have there in the store because I do not think the turnover is good enough and we were unable to eat even a single piece of a $14 bag of taffy. In addition while the staff was very kind it wasn't until I looked at our receipt on our way back to California on our road trip that I realized I had been charged for two different items twice. So I paid an additional almost $20 that is my fault for not noticing but their fault once I read some of the other reviews where this seems to be a conscious decision. I've are almost $50 bill only two items could actually be eaten and both were produced by outside companies and sealed. Save your money bring a bag of gummy bears from the convenience store down the street and run away from this not so sweet spot. read more
