I got a box of about 24 assorted chocolates, and almost all of them were amazing (except the caramel ones,they are too sweet). The chocolates were not bitter at all,it had a rich, nutty flavor and, best of all, no overly sweet aftertaste that makes you want to reach for water. The shop itself has a fantastic selection of chocolates,probably every kind you can think of--and the staff are really friendly. Whenever I go to California I stop in at See's! I've been enjoying their candy since I was a little girl. It brings back memories of my childhood, and a consistent quality to their products. Their Boedeau Bar used to be the best and my favorite for 4 decades! But that Bar has changed twice! The first time was 2 years ago when they made the chocolate coating too thick. And now recently the outer and inner filling are both thinner. But what makes me not want to buy from Sees anymore is because the flavor, vidible color, and texture of the filling has been replaced by a cheaper less tastier experience. Not sure if they are trying to save money or having difficulty getting the original ingredients. But if they don't go back to the original ingredients, I won't be visiting Sees again at all. read more

A HUGE SHOUT-OUT to Crystal, the beautiful, welcoming sale's associate who assisted me yesterday. Classic Perfection! She's a WOWZER !! So where do I begin to compliment her Warm Welcome, kind Spirit and awesome sales' Prowess? This gal has it ALL. I love this Santa Monica location bc of the sales' personnel. It's ALWAYS such a pleasure to pop in and treat myself to a few of my faves, Dark Nuts and Chewys. Yum! Oh... the best part of my visit was Crystal. Talk about AWESOME 1st impressions. Standing in the perfect location in the store, I walked in and was greeted by Crystal. Guess what?? There was no waiting for my sample. Crystal offered me a delish Peppermint, a lá dark. How did she know? She had a special way of introducing me to the ASPCA special donation promotion. Buy a See's monogrammed STUFFED doggie bone toy for $7 and receive an edible bone shaped biscuit gift. Since I'm a sucker for animals, I jumped right on it. Proceeds benefit the ASPCA. TY See's for participating in such a worthy cause. I'm impressed. Fortunately, there was 1 stuffed toy & 1 biscuit remaining. I was lucky. Lastly, Crystal pointed out all the myriad choices of See's suckers, including the newer ones, at least to me; Choco Mint, Carmel Apple, Orange Choco. So how could I pass up her fabulous selling skills? She didn't miss a trick. I had to buy 1 of each. I share them randomly bc they are such an ideal lil tasty treat. Simply, it was a wonderfully pleasant visit. Crystal, along with her female co-worker, (apologies, I didn't get her name), were so hospitable. It was totally refreshing. An extremely pleasant gentleman helped me with the purchase of a Birthday gift to mail locally. He even offered to put the box in Happy Birthday sleeve which coincidently matched the card I filled out. The store was quite clean and well stocked. It was moderately busy at 3:30PM. Boxes were wrapped with special bows for Mother's Day (Free of Charge). For myself, I purchased 6 pieces of Rum Nougat, 6 pieces of Caramel Almond Squares, 4 pieces of dark chocolate almond clusters. This was $9.00+ worth of chocolate alone. WORTH IT! Service was great and friendly. The clerk offered me a sample of some flavor that I had no clue what it was. Sees candy on Wilshire in Santa Monica provides the BEST chocolate and hands down AMAZING service. Each worker helped me out with my chocolate selection and truly cared about customer satisfaction. Kathy was handing out the samples and offered me to get another sample if I didn't like the dark chocolate caramel that she originally offered. Of course I loved it and bought some! The other workers Scott and Katie were very friendly and helpful when I was picking out some pieces to buy. This review is based on my 3 past visits here, as a patron. The store is lively. And sure the employees are older, but they are the sweetest people. I have never (NEVER) met an unhappy See's candies employee. They seem to glow and just so happy to be surrounded by delicious candies all day. I would be too! They greet every customer, as soon as they walk in the door. Super friendly. The selections are great. From Strawberry cream filled truffles (my fave), to kona mocha, california crunch, dark truffles, you name it they have it. Also, they give out free samples all day, as soon as you enter the store. Feel free to help yourself to one (or 2 or 3, they will keep giving you if u ask). If you are ever in doubt how a certain truffle tastes like, they are more than happy to give u one to sample. How can you beat yummy chocolate goodness (at very reasonable prices), and while you are at it, take a couple on the house. Really, it will cure all your blues. read more

The chocolate here is as delicious as any See's, but the employees are much more surly. I have noticed a huge discrepancy between the attitudes of the ladies here compared to every other See's I have gone to. They get the job done, but without warm attitudes. Still, the chocolates are still great. Try the chocolate covered butter chews, California brittle, chocolate covered raisins, lollipop, and truffles. I stopped by this past Saturday to grab two of the pre-packaged assorted chocolate boxes for my boyfriend,his son and I to enjoy since we had two gift cards from the landlord.. The women that was helping the gentleman in front of me was so rude! Raising her voice and being non helpful to this guy that was trying to order a custom boxes of chocolate for a couple people for Valentine's Day. It was as if she wasn't thankful for her job~ First off, the man she was helping had hearing aids in and she was yelling at him in a rather angry voice. Then, she began to say how he was taking to long and needed to go to her break. I hear her tell the man how she couldn't recommend any chocolate's with certain ingredients and left him in the middle of his order. She just didn't want to help! Someone had to come and finish his order. In which was incorrect. Over all the location is rather handy and the store itself is very clean and easy to work around, but the customer service needs some help! I only give it a four star because the manager can be aloof and well not as helpful considering Ive been buying from them from the time they've opened . The store ofcourse had chocolate which I love. It's the employees. They have let people cut into line and serve them first yesterday 2/15/2020 & once on a previous visit...Really!! So rude. Then on top of that the employee woman weighs the custom made box of chocolates with the white box & another red box on top of it.
