I was recommended to Bryan from a friend, and now am recommending Bryan to my friends! I needed an electrician to assist me in creating a network closet. I needed about 750 feet of CAT-6 ran throughout the crawlspace, needed two coax runs, a telephone run, as well as a power receptacle added. He also added a new breaker! Also, while Bryan was there I showed him that I had mounted my LCD TV on the wall, but still wanted to hide the wires behind the wall, and he knocked that out for me in record time. He even ran some speaker wire to the master bathroom!! After taking a look at the "aftermarket" cable and telephone runs that the previous owner and Cox had done, he volunteered to hide both of these lines in the wall of the garage, making a huge aesthetic improvement. He did all of this work without interrupting power to the house, and with as many electronic devices as I have, this was a major break compared to some of the other electricians we've had. So I too like a few other people here found Selberg Electric on yelp...however the scope of my project was much larger than changing out switches, plugs, or lighting fixtures... I was in the process of remodeling a 1956 home in Central Phoenix, including a full rewire, all new fixtures, and service panel replacement. Initially in getting quotes that is all I was asking for however what we received with Bryan was that and more. I called him my "electrical consultant" as many of his recommendations, knowledge of available products, and ability to conceptualize the functionality of our finished project really helped things come together in the end. He was professional and timely, so no complaints there...additionally he was available/willing to meet/talk to the city inspector if issues arose, though none did...which I guess in itself is a testament to his work. read more

I recently purchased a home that had a bunch of minor electrical issues that needed to be resolved. I sent Bryan Selberg my full home inspection report, and he gave me a quote. When he started working, however, he discovered that there was a lot more work needed than the report indicated. The job ended up taking Bryan and another employee about 11 hours over the course of three days. Nevertheless, Bryan stuck to his quote, completed the work so my home is completely up to code, provided lots of helpful advice, and cleaned up after everything was done. While I was abroad, my adult son realized the garage door would not function. He called someone who charged a service call and said it may be as high as $400. to fix the problem. I got on my I-Pad, read the reviews for Selberg Electric, and had my son make the contact. Bryan just came, made an analysis of my problem within 5 minutes, changed the dimmer switch that the door was connected to, the door went up and down, and he left without wanting payment. In a city the size of Phoenix, his integrity stands out on top- double the 5 stars. There isn't much I can add to the other reviews. I needed three smoke alarms installed. Based on his Yelp reviews, I called Bryan Selberg. If anything, the Yelp reviews understate the quality of Bryan's work. In addition to the smoke alarms, I had him fix some poor wiring done years ago. We lost power to half our house. I went to yelp looking for help and saw the reviews for Bryan. He came out and spent 4 hours tracing wiring in a very old house. He determined that because we live in an older house, with newer electronics and appliances, the old wiring could not deal with the increase in load. He gave us a great quote and two days to get the work done which included new dedicated circuits, breaker box upgrades and new junction boxes. Bryan was on time, communicative, efficient and very respectful of our home and pets. He offered some good alternatives to our lighting problems, which we implemented. His verbal quote was the same as his written quote and he did not try to up sell his services once he started the job. He came in under budget and within the time frame he committed to. He has disappointed no one (and believe me - people can be difficult!!). The first time I used this company was probably when they were trying to get off the ground. I had them come in to my condo and switch out all of my outlets and lighting fixtures to more modern ones. The owner, Bryan was clean, thorough, polite, and quiet. I hardly knew there was someone in my house working. The work was done in one day, and I was a happy camper. I now own a home and have called on Selberg Electric again. I live in yet another super old house, and had outlets in odd places, such as in the physical light fixture itself. Once again, this company has come through. It's nice to have someone in my home who actually likes what they do, and still have reasonable prices. I recommend this company to everyone I know. I hate providing a negative review on Yelp and it pains me to do it. My first experience with Bryan was great, he repaired a switch leading to my A/C unit. Quick, easy, price was reasonable. That was a couple years ago. I recently called Bryan to have him quote repairs to the lighting and electrical in my backyard. I need it done in 3 weeks because I am hosting a party. He came came out, assessed the problems, and said he would have a quote in a day or so. I called him up a week later and he said he'd have the quote out shortly. Another week passes with no quote. I call him and he claims he sent it. The quote is not in my inbox or spam folder. I text him and ask him to resend it. A full day later, I still don't have a quote I am sitting here with no plan to get my backyard lighting fixed in time for my party. I have to start calling around to start the process again. Bryan, if you read this, I am sorry this didn't work out, I was really was hoping to find a reliable electrician and I thought you were the guy. I have a number of projects I need done. This review is overdue, but having a horrible experience with a landscape contractor earlier today reminded me of how great Bryan was. During the estimate, I explained what I needed done, his process was far superior to mine, and yet his estimate was within 5% of my expectations. He gave me a very narrow 1-hour window, and when he ran into a small problem on another job, he gave me several hours notice he might be late (all of 15 minutes). That professionalism extends thru all of his work. He is a rare breed, a true craftsman. On top of all that, he's very personable and kind.
