Went to 2 Pt centers and was at each one for 6 days and progress started declining. Spoke with my physical dr Anthony (great physical doctor) and he recommended this Pt. Kristen, Mackenzie, Doreen, Gloria and the 3 other ladies who have helped (which I don't remember their names) as well as everyone in the building is amazing. Kristen has been amazing for my hand. Mackenzie has been amazing for my leg. Both have made huge progress and did within the first 10 days. Highly recommend, amazing environment with great people, took on projects that other pt places couldn't achieve progress on.

They always answered the phone right away and he was very knowledgeable and easy to work with. He then referred me to the physical therapy office next door and that's where the issues began. Since the first time I called, nobody ever picks up, I called 20+ times in a span of 2 weeks and each time the automated phone system made me listen to a 5 minute message about the history of San Diego Sports Medicine and the different location's phone numbers and then would proceed to hang up on me. The few times it did let me leave a message, nobody ever got back to me. It seems like nobody works at the front desk for some reason. When they finally got back to me, they made an appointment for me with the specific PT that Dr.Koretoff had requested. I was 3 weeks out from the earliest appointment which was not ideal but I had no choice but to wait. When I finally received the appointment reminder the week before the appointment, it said that the appointment will be with someone else, and not the person I had made the appointment with. The person at the front desk even confirmed that it will be with the PT I requested but that's not what they inputted in the system. As a result, I now have to wait another week to start PT. They offered no way to reconcile the situation even though it was their fault, and basically the conclusion was "tough luck, you have to pay for our mistake." In a separate conversation with the front desk again, they were explaining to me the difference between paying out of pocket vs going through insurance. They gave me the out of pocket rate but said that they can't confirm what the cost will be with insurance until I come in so I explained my deductible and the terms on my coverage to get her advice, the answer I got verbatim was "I've explained to you over and over again and it doesn't seem like you're understand so I think I'm wasting my time here." WTF? She only explained to me once, and basically indirectly called me dumb and told me I'm wasting her time? That's no way to talk to any patient especially if I'm being respectful. This is absolutely unacceptable. I don't care if you're having a bad day, you shouldn't be talking to people like that period, let alone if your job is customer service. This is absolutely the worst experience I've ever had with any front desk/customer service. It's like they hate their jobs. Do you guys no vet people before hiring them?

Mark is a focused, but empathetic, force in helping folks address what ails them. I'd thought I'd come to the end of my PT experiences with my Knee Replacement and, most recently, a Shoulder Replacement, but then got referred to work on my spine. Mark is an encouraging person who explains both the big picture, and the specifics of the attack plan to get better. He is also creatively flexible, responding to feedback from patients to craft a more effective workout. Mark flipped my disappointment with having to go back to PT, into a renewed motivation to address my spine, and to incorporate the weak knee and shoulder into continued strength-building and range of motion improvement. Mark's treatment team (the folks who set up the exercises, help patients do the exercises, and help patients maintain success momentum) are Jett, Miguel and Matt. These are the guys who help me get my form right, transition between exercises, and generally help with whatever a patient needs to excel. They are upbeat and full of energy, as well as perceptive enough to help patients fine-tune details of their performance. They help put each individual's plan into action; they are where the rubber meets the road. Last, but definitely not the least, is the Huge Smile patients see when they come in the front door: Mareya. She checks everyone in, and gets everyone organized for their sessions. Rachel left us all behind and took off for school in Michigan; good luck! I recommend PRN PT without reservation. They are professional and always have their patients' improvement in mind, while balancing any other physical issues patients might have. They are not only great at what they do. They are great people, too!

When it comes to his ability to manage the care of patients, I learned the hard way that he truly doesn't understand what he's doing. My estradiol levels were elevated slightly above the high end of the normal range. He decides to prescribe Anastrozole, an estrogen blocker or aromatase inhibitor, at a dosage of 3mgs per week and tapering off to 1mg per week. he truly was guessing on dosage because retrospectively that dosing was way too high. Dr. Bronner didn't run any bloodwork for over a year, despite my repeated requests, and when bloodwork was actually done, my estradiol was at a non-detectable level. Low Estradiol levels caused my fascia to dry up considerably and 9 fascial adhesions formed along my anterior fascial chain and I couldn't walk without severe pain for over 2 years. Dr. Bronner never took responsibility for this major f**k up and even tried to cover his tracks with some AI generated papers in an effort to mitigate the risk of being sued. I would be very very cautious about putting your trust in Bronner Handwerger. As I went searching for a new physician, I found consensus amongst Bronner's peers that he is considered a hack. BE CAREFUL!!!!!

I would just be cautious with the people making discharge recommendations-- like where you go after you're done with rehab. These people may seem like they have your best interests in mind, but in reality they are self-serving. This is a common phenomenon in nursing homes and not unique to the Springs, unfortunately. I strongly recommend that you have your own team of people helping you with discharge arrangements.

The food was decent. I actually was hoping to stay for two weeks, but I was discharged to my daughter's house after 8 days, due to my insurance company and Medicare. I had done "too well" in PT! My departure seemed a little abrupt, there was some miscommunication with administration; I couldn't get appointments for outpatient physical therapy until beginning 5/13. Although a trying experience due to my pain, I do recommend The Springs. Visitor parking is by Valet only. I was told to please be out by 2 pm, but my daughter and I and Housekeeping, who wanted to change out the room for the next patient, before housekeeping left for the day (a Saturday) were all kept waiting, with no explanation, by the woman (Case Manager?) who was to give me my discharge papers and go over my meds with me. So I couldn't actually leave until 2:45, with my daughter waiting in her car, when she was asked to pick me up at 2! I'm still giving this a four star review, because, as I said, with the exception of one graveyard shift female nurse and some administrators, the doctors, nurses, CNAs and physical therapists were excellent! The facility itself is lovely.
