When I went to Optum Care Network's San Diego Sports Medicine's Urgent Care clinic for treatment, I was subjected to multiple iterations of ineffective treatment plans and was verbally harassed when I attempted to get assistance for obtaining a CA DMV Disabled Person Placard. More specifically, the only thing offered by Monica (the Office Manager) was an abundance of vindictive rhetoric couched in audacity, ignorance and false accusations. It was abundantly clear from her delusional behavior that Monica believes that patients exist to serve and support the needs of clinic staff and not the other way around. Instead of hiding patient issues requiring escalations that need to be properly addressed by those in charge of the Medical Group, one should expect that the true SDPMG leadership team would want to properly investigate and make quality improvements to service levels in order to properly resolve such matters. Regrettably, my experience was that the Medical Group leadership allegedly hide in anonymity and enable their incompetent subordinates to make unqualified decisions. This type of behavior may imply that this medical practice is all about making profits at patient's expense and not about patient satisfaction and service level quality.

That's when I found Dr. Lee, and I couldn't be more grateful. From my very first session, I felt a noticeable difference. Dr. Lee is truly one of the best acupuncture doctors in San Diego--her knowledge, skill, and care are unparalleled. Her approach is holistic and personalized, taking the time to understand not just my symptoms but my overall health. Over the course of several treatments, my stomach pain has significantly decreased, and I'm feeling better than I have in a long time. What Western medicine wasn't able to resolve, acupuncture with Dr. Lee has managed to do. I HIGHLY recommend her to anyone who is struggling with pain or other health issues. If you're considering acupuncture, Dr. Lee is the one to see!

I made myself a cup of the herbs that Dr. Lee prepared for me that night and by the morning, the skin issues on my neck and ears were completely gone and the issues on my torso were barely noticeable - no inflammation nor itching. The pain in my back was completely alleviated. I was very intentional and present in my acupuncture session with Dr. Lee - not passive like I've been in sessions before with other acupuncturists. I truly believe the combination of intentionality during the acupuncture session and Dr. Lee's herbs healed my body so deeply that I had to share. She is a very powerful healer and I will most definitely incorporate her into my self-care practice regularly. Angel, her office manager, is so very gentle and accommodating. Such a wonderful experience.

They always answered the phone right away and he was very knowledgeable and easy to work with. He then referred me to the physical therapy office next door and that's where the issues began. Since the first time I called, nobody ever picks up, I called 20+ times in a span of 2 weeks and each time the automated phone system made me listen to a 5 minute message about the history of San Diego Sports Medicine and the different location's phone numbers and then would proceed to hang up on me. The few times it did let me leave a message, nobody ever got back to me. It seems like nobody works at the front desk for some reason. When they finally got back to me, they made an appointment for me with the specific PT that Dr.Koretoff had requested. I was 3 weeks out from the earliest appointment which was not ideal but I had no choice but to wait. When I finally received the appointment reminder the week before the appointment, it said that the appointment will be with someone else, and not the person I had made the appointment with. The person at the front desk even confirmed that it will be with the PT I requested but that's not what they inputted in the system. As a result, I now have to wait another week to start PT. They offered no way to reconcile the situation even though it was their fault, and basically the conclusion was "tough luck, you have to pay for our mistake." In a separate conversation with the front desk again, they were explaining to me the difference between paying out of pocket vs going through insurance. They gave me the out of pocket rate but said that they can't confirm what the cost will be with insurance until I come in so I explained my deductible and the terms on my coverage to get her advice, the answer I got verbatim was "I've explained to you over and over again and it doesn't seem like you're understand so I think I'm wasting my time here." WTF? She only explained to me once, and basically indirectly called me dumb and told me I'm wasting her time? That's no way to talk to any patient especially if I'm being respectful. This is absolutely unacceptable. I don't care if you're having a bad day, you shouldn't be talking to people like that period, let alone if your job is customer service. This is absolutely the worst experience I've ever had with any front desk/customer service. It's like they hate their jobs. Do you guys no vet people before hiring them?

I chose this facility because of the reviews online. When I arrived, the check-in process was nice enough. I got assigned to a therapist named Kyle. He took me back and did some assessments. All of this was normal. He then looked up exercises in his computer and created a plan. He wanted to make sure I understood all the movements and how to do them properly so we went through them. He wasn't the most graceful person when demonstrating. I wasn't impressed. I came back for another session and it was the same nice enough check in process. Then kyle took me back again. This time he did some revisiting of the original assessments. Then he introduced some new exercises. They were easy enough. Once again I was less than impressed with his demonstration skills. While I was performing the exercises I received no coaching or guidance. My therapist just typed away on their computer with little to no feedback verbalized to me. The final straw was when I had to reschedule my appointment the day of, and they told me It would be a $75 fee. The only reason I had to reschedule is because I'm a hairdresser and one of my clients had a family emergency which pushed her appointment back so I wouldn't make it to my therapy appointment. If you're looking to get back to every day life after a surgery, then this might be a good fit. If you're an athlete looking to get back to athletics, I think you may be slightly disappointed.
