My experience at this physical therapy center has been deeply disappointing, and I feel compelled to share it so others can make an informed decision. The level of unprofessionalism from several therapists is unlike anything I've encountered in a healthcare setting. Therapists openly talk about patients--either while the patients are present or immediately a after they leave--especially when someone isn't making the progress they expect. Instead of considering the patient's circumstances, limitations, or humanity, they place blame entirely on the patient. I heard comments such as, "It can't possibly be the therapist's fault," and even a therapist bragging about having a "come-to-Jesus conversation" with a patient on their very first visit simply because the patient wasn't doing exercises at home exactly as prescribed. There is zero consideration for the person as a whole. Their egos seem to overshadow any sense of compassion or professionalism. They constantly switch your appointments, so you never know who you'll be seeing. There is no continuity of care. Most of the time, they spend little to no time actually working with you--they put you on a machine or an exercise and walk away, leaving you to figure things out on your own. Despite this, they still ask patients to complete evaluations of the facility. But if you say anything less than glowing, they refuse to consider that the issue might be on their end. It makes you wonder why they ask for feedback at all. My honest recommendation: go anywhere else. Do therapy at home. Choose the worst-rated clinic you can find--it would still be better than this. Not only is the care ineffective, but they can actually cause more pain. Their lack of empathy, accountability, and professionalism is alarming. Even if they offered therapy for free, I would advise you to walk--run if you can--in the opposite direction!

"What do you want to be able to do, Lois" they ask. Throughout the time of my therapy I have seen them honor the answers to that question and what matters to me in my life. In this well equipped facility, with highly trained therapists, I have seen and heard song, dance,laughter, and tears. The staff works together and you are treated only by trained and exemplary physical therapists. This place is filled with joy and hard work.

So far on my return visits my therapist David and his assistant Victoria have been happy to see how much more range I have already. A few months ago I injured my bicep and shoulder and could no longer ride my bike due to the pain I had. Now, two months later, I ride daily and am pain free. This therapist has seen to my rehibilitation for shoulder, back and knee issues and I couldn't disagree more with the empty understanding of PT. My father (RIP) didn't get it either, so he did not do the excercises when he had shoulder and knee surgery late in life. He didn't get the handout. I found the excercise sheets a source of reference to keep doing the work right. I found the therapist quite knowelegable. If he hadn't done some physical work on the other reviewer, how would Andy know what instructions to give anybody he has not evaluated? I am about to revisit Palm Harbor PT for (another) joint replacement at 73. I wouldn't go to anyone else. He oozes quality as well as does his very efficient and forgiving office manager. I just can't remember how to spell his last name. Loscalzo? He is the best in my book. DO YOUR WORK! If a massage is what you are looking for, this ain't the palce.
