I was injured there when I was put in the care of a PTA (physical therapy assistant). The PTA handed me a pull down bar that was pre-loaded with heavy weights, my arm which was being treated for adhesive capsulitis flew up from the excessive amount of the weight, causing me to scream out in pain and nothing was done to assist me; not one person there offered assistance. Per MRI, my rotator cuff was torn from this negligent action. Afterwards, I put in several requests at the desk as well as by phone to speak with supervisor Erika Leal. I also had requested the desk staff to document the incident/injury and it never was. Naturally, I never went back. The supervisor never responded to my phone messages and as far as Select Physical Therapy was concerned my injury there never happened. Be very careful they may respond to a Yelp, but good luck getting them to speak with you regarding your complaint oof you do reach out to them. Terrible. read more

I love this place, is one of the best. Very clean, profesional, helpful, friendly, and the staff is amazing. The knowledge of the therapists is very satisfying, they really take care of you and your needs. I have to go for different kind of therapy, and is always great and very kind, specially Bryan Conor PT., Savana Meyer PT., and Tara OT, the front desk, just to mention some of them, but everybody is really nice. My GP recommended physical therapy after a small meniscal tear in my knee. I can't say enough great things about Autumnn - she diagnosed me carefully and was really detailed in the explanation of the exercises she assigned. After 2 sessions I can feel the difference. Changed my treatment to another facility. Everyone is nice and friendly. But I just think today wasn't a pleasant day for me to feel like I was important. It is very extremely unprofessional to work on two people when you cannot handle or monitor both patients at the same time. Like I heard her laughing joking, with the front desk clerk and the patient she was helping, which wasn't work related conversations... do mind that we can all get a little chatty at times but if you can't multitask and be more aware of what you are suppose to do in caring and treating your patients. Then it is probably not a good idea for you to talk about social interactions... She had 3 Tupperware of instruments but didn't even ask me if I ever did these before, and handed me one instruments to work with... she assumed that I already did those... and walked off. Thanks to Tara, a practitioner who was more aware than the practitioner who was in charge in treating me. She seen that I was doing the same exercise for so long that she felt bad for me, and I told my practitioner " he never did these" I would never ever come back here.... Even if they offered me free sessions. Apologizing more than 3 times shows that you felt guilty by leaving me hanging for that long... so you wasn't able to communicate with me every five to 10 minutes to see what I was doing or how it's going? But you can there and chat with your coworker and another patient for 20 plus minutes about non work related stuff. 1 hour session felt like 5 mins with her, she just greeted me and handed me an instrument and told me to have at it, and left me there for 30mins minutes and didn't bother to check on me... not even every 10mins and when i saw in how Tara was checking on her client walking back and fourth and communicating... I felt like I was missing that from my practitioner. Lack of care, lack of awareness, lack of communication. read more

This is a mixed review. The therapy itself was terrific. However, I originally treated, at my request, with Shab (excellent) and then was transferred for all remaining visits to Shane (also terrific) without any consultation as to whether this transfer was acceptable. I stopped because he was being transferred to a new location and after 10 visits I didn't want someone new. So the care was great. What wasn't great? The surprise billing. I received no bills until the end of my treatment even though this was over a 3 month period. If I had known early enough how much I would have to pay after Medicare and Medicare supplement I would have stopped going or spaced the visits out more. read more

5 Stars - Tara is a great OT. Great communication skills, wide knowledge of upper body exercises and care. She is also an excellent lymphadema specialist. 1 star - front desk, don't return calls, slow follow up on insurance on a timely basis, poor communication skills. Reminder texts are inconsistent. I've never been a fan of physical therapy until I came to Select Physical Therapy. It was worth waking up for the 730am appointments. I was always pumped to get stronger. I had a neck injury back in fall 2020 and everytime I did exercises I would have pain shooting up and down my arm. Dr. Alex Reiley was very thorough with his assessment and assigned me exercises that fit my needs each day. It kept me mentally and physically challenged. Mark PT aid helped make sure I had good form on my exercises. Erica was great at helping me with my last minute schedule changes. No need to go anywhere else in the Valley, or LA for that matter. These girls know what they are doing when it comes to rehab. I played rugby for a lot of years & came into to see them about a couple of torn rotator cuffs. The first appointment I came to, I showed up 3 hours early due to my provider messing things up on their end. However, Select Physical Therapy made it happen & I was greeted with smiles & a warm welcome. I've been going there for about 3 weeks now & my range of motion has improved, strength in my should area & pain has decreased. They also take the time to address any other issues that may be preventing you from performing to your maximum potential. Select PT offers validated underground parking, so your Range Rover or Prius is protected from the harsh elements of California. They also have filtered water, which I feel is a must in LA. Additionally, you'll notice that no matter who sits on a PT bed, it is immediately wiped down (nice & clean!). They also send you email notifications, which will sync with your smart phone to remind you that you have an upcoming appointment. This is very helpful in the event you double book that time with your spray tan session. Overall, this place is top notch. Staff are friendly, place is clean & the Physiotherapists are true go-to professional resources. See you out there! read more

I can't say enough good things about Shabnam (Shab for short - she is the physical therapist) and Erica (front desk and PT aide). I came to Physiotherpy because they were in network with my insurance. I was post op from knee surgery. I was relieved to see all of the five star reviews on Yelp, but still skeptical. But after my first visit, that skepticism was gone! Shab explained very clearly what is going on with my knee and how my visits with them would improve my knee. It did! I did PT twice a week for a month. I made huge improvements and feel that because of them, I was able to get back to my normal work outs and weekend softball. One thing I loved about this place is that they are hands on. Someone is always with you when you are doing your exercises or when they are working on you (ultrasound, massage, stretching). Shab continues to push you to go on to the next level, but also aware if something is not feeling right. When I would leave there, I really felt like each visit was an improvement from the last. Overall the facility is clean. Parking is easy and validated. Lastly, Erica helped me so much with getting my referral from SCOI. SCOI did my surgery and I didn't want to do PT there (it is horrible). So SCOI dragged their feet getting me the referral. It took two weeks to finally get it. Erica stayed on top of them to make sure they faxed over what I needed in order to get started with PT. These ladies are great, kind and knowledgable!!! read more

I was provided therapy originally for a torn rotator cuff my initial therapist and assistant would be the ONLY individuals I work with they were both gaining strength in my shoulder. The Israel therapist said you have to push thru the pain . That was my last day because of overworking the injury that he didn't even know much off and I couldn't attend last meeting because of chronic cough. But I will NOT work with him again read more

I highly recommend Select Physical and their team. After an evaluation from a well known institution, I still wasn't comfortable with my therapist. I sought out Select as a recommendation from my dad who goes to their burbank clinic. I am in northern california and was able to have a telehealth eval. My experience was far better with Select and specifically Shaubnum, who has been an amazing PT. We do the exercises on video and she communicates very well. She shares her knowledge and explains things to me. I am undergoing chemotherapy and her expertise in this area has been invaluable to my treatment. read more

While the therapists are top notch, the billing practices and follow up are terrible. Be careful when you book time. You can book an hour, pay for it, but only receive a half hour of service. When you are quoted co-pays, be aware that the billing is done in 15 minute increments, so keep track of your time there, and how it is spent, otherwise, you will be stuck with payments well over what you were quoted, and no concern for righting the over-billing that occurs. read more

I had shoulder surgery and was initially sent to Progressive Physical Therapy in Tarzana. I was satisfied with them, however there was workers comp drama, so I was sent elsewhere. I was sent to Brightstar Physical Therapy in Tarzana and was upset, because they were terrible and had no idea what they were doing. This is when Physiotherapy Associates came into the picture and I was so happy and glad that I was switched to them because Shabnum (Shab for short) is great and also really patient with me, even if she pushes me more than I want to at times. Also, Erika (receptionist/ PT aide) is really friendly and patient as well. They are both down to earth women and it makes physical therapy not so bad. The place is really clean and they are hands on compared to other places. I highly recommend this place!! This place is as good as it gets for physical therapy. read more

I have been to two other places for the same back injury. And I can tell you that none of them got hands on the way these people were. I was greeted by a very professional secretary / p.t aide who welcomed me. Everything was brand spankin' new, as well as a new building. But the best part was Shabnum. I have had tendinitsis in my wrist for four months. It has been extremely painful and nothing was helping. Workmen's comp sent me to Physiotherapy Assoc and Shabnum had me without pain in two weeks. I chose Physiotherapy Assoc. as it was on my insurance list (partly for convenience as it's on the way to work) and the two physical therapy locations that were recommended were not. I had knee surgery and had in-home PT for two weeks (until I could drive). I wasn't getting very far with it and my doctor wasn't happy with my lack of progress. What a huge difference since Shab starting working on me. She knew exactly what was needed, which included working on my muscles that had tightened and breaking up the areas where scar tissue was starting to form. And Erika is there to help with the exercises which keeps everyone moving. Both Shab and Erika have great personalities so it's always pleasant to be there. Windows all along the outside walls keep the place bright. My doctor was so happy with my progress after only five treatments. His office will now include this location as a place they recommend for PT. read more
