They don't hawk you for sales and let you be after telling you about the specials. There is usually someone to help you in the dressing room to get another size if needed or if you allow, to make sure you are being fitted correctly. I like Soma's bras for its simplicity and quality. They aren't screaming **** me, but more like, I'm here to support you and make your day better. There are styles with touches of lace, quite a bit with push-ups, and a variety of colors that can make you feel beautiful. I've bought items online and have made returns with some ease. They don't allow returns on washed items and I've had one person get snippy at me for folding the bras in half in the return bag. It messes up the structure of the bra so she said. We spent close to 10 minutes wandering around and not once were we greeted or acknowledged, and we actually needed help. Finding someone was a bit tough too. The store is always well stocked, clean and in good condition. No issues there. Pricing is standard for a Macy's. Not a lot of discounts or sales on the major brands. Overall, it's a Macy's. We chiefly go to look at shoes, and it has been consistently an absolute mess in the shoe section, with high price tags for cheap merchandise that is scattered and strewn about. You have to step over open boxes, sizes are not in the correct place, and I've never seen an employee in the shoe section. This past week, we went to look at dresses and there was no signage and very limited availability of any formal dresses for plus size women -- and this is Wisconsin... We went to the "Last Chance" upstairs clearance section and it was worse than the shoe section. Tripping hazards on the floor, items strewn about and disorganized, shelves looked like they'd been looted. This seems to be a store wide problem and we just left without buying anything.

While I haven't found anything this delightfully flattering and retro, they have some really great sales and a lot of cute, affordable jewelry (often on one of those really great sales). If I worked in a corporate setting I'd probably shop here more often - they've got a lot of nice business separates that don't look stuffy. I've managed to live a casual adult work life, though, so no suits for me. I'll keep stopping in, though, to see if I can find another piece that lives up to that perfect dress.

I was wrong when I got to this store. Their camis are so soft and comfortable. The sales person, even though it was a busy day was prompt and able to answer my questions regarding quality and my habits of not washing lingerie separately. She was able to tell me how she normally does not wash her camis separate and the durability is great. I have had them (ie I bought like too many after finally finding these) for almost half a year and am still impressed! They have a beautiful wide and good quality lace trim at the bottom. This was exactly what I was looking for to peek out at the bottom of an oversized sweater. You know: that little hint of girliness in a grey winter.... Thank you, New York & Company!
