The most radical difference is Athleta's super generous return policy. I would say that Athleta is also a little more casual wear oriented than Lululemon. Like Lululemon, they offer free pant alterations, weekend free exercise classes, and always a lot of new styles of tops and leggings. The store's inventory is much smaller than online, but if you use the computer inside the store, you can order whatever you like with free ship. The back of the store does offer a couch for tired shoppers, as well as a lot of free class cards at local gyms. Athleta is superior to Lululemon for me. Sometimes you just gotta return stuff.

What used to be a decent store has now turned into an unprofessional, poorly managed mess. Let me start with the customer service -- or lack of it. I walked in to return a shirt (tags on, never worn, with the receipt), and the staff acted like I was asking for a kidney. No greeting, no offer to help -- just a bunch of employees standing around talking to each other, looking annoyed that a customer dared to interrupt them. When I finally got someone's attention, she looked at the shirt for two seconds and flat-out said, "We're not taking this back." No reason, no explanation, just a rude tone and attitude. I asked why, and she just shrugged and mumbled something about "policy," then walked away in the middle of me talking. Walked away. I couldn't believe it. Then another guy came over, and instead of helping, he treated me like I was being dramatic for just asking for a reason. Super rude, totally unprofessional, and had a tone like he couldn't care less. I asked to speak to a manager, and of course -- surprise -- "She's not available." I waited 30 minutes, and guess what? Still "not available." They either lied or just didn't care. The store itself was a wreck. Clothes everywhere, nothing organized, fitting rooms piled with random stuff -- it looked like no one there actually worked. The employees were just wandering around or hanging out like it was their living room. Honestly, I walked in expecting a normal shopping trip and left completely disgusted. It's not just that they wouldn't return the shirt -- it's how I was treated like trash for even asking. The people working there couldn't be bothered to even pretend to care. JCPenney used to be reliable, but after this, I'm done. Forever. I don't care how big the sale is -- I'd rather pay full price somewhere else and be treated like a human being. Went in for free fittings with 4 friends and had an amazing experience! Since there were only 2…read morefitters working and a couple of customers ahead of us, we added our names to the waitlist at the register. We were able to wander the mall until receiving a text that they were ready for us. First, an employee/fitter explained that we could either just get measured for size, or we could do a full fitting which includes trying on bras. 3 of us went for a fitting and 1 did just sizing, which took about 1 - 1.5 hrs total. It was probably 30-45 minutes per full fitting (sizing only took like 10 mins) and didn't feel rushed - we could try on as many options as we wanted. The fitting rooms are tucked in the back of the store, with full floor to ceiling doors. The entire back wall was a mirror, and the room also had a ceiling fan and great lighting, so I didn't get overheated at all and felt like I could really see how the bras fit. There was also a small couch to sit on while waiting for the fitter to pull more bras. You don't leave the room at all during the fitting, and the fitter was very careful not to open the door too wide, so I didn't feel like anyone outside would be able to peek in. The 2 ladies fitting us were super awesome! They helped us all find exactly what we were looking for and made great conversation throughout. This was my first bra fitting and I highly recommend trying this place if you're in the same boat. Some other good info we got: - They have punch cards that get you $50 off after buying a certain # of bras. - If you're wanting to buy additional bras online, you can call the store and have them order it for you with free shipping or store pickup. They can also give advice on whether you need to size up or down in certain brands, if they have your fitting info on file.

This is the second time I have purchased a suit here. All the suits are high quality and made to last. The prices are reasonable. I can't believe that I never cried or gave up. They have a nice range of casual clothes with technical features (airy, moisture wicking, UPF etc) and more serious technical outdoor wear. Along with the aforementioned shorts, I love the long pants version, and my wife and I live in our EB down jackets in the winter.
