One amazing experience! It's a MUST! From the moment you pull up to the parking lot, you will see Selena's tour buses (the old "Big Bertha" and the newer one) parked out there. It's a bittersweet feeling being in the museum. The tour starts off in the recording studio. You'll learn some fun facts of what actually took place in that recording studio. From there, you'll go into the museum area. Everything there is real! No replicas. You'll get to see some of the outfits she wore to her concerts, the Grammy's, her videos, etc. Other displayed things are her Porsche, her music awards, her personal items such as her cosmetics (makeup, perfume, etc.), jewelry, her mic that still has her lipstick on it, and so much more! You might even get to meet Selena's father, Mr. Quintanilla. We did! And he even took a picture with us! His office is there, and you will walk right by it as you're touring the museum. My dream has come true, since I was a little girl I loved Selena, I had every magazine she was in. I memorized every song she sang and watched all her music videos. I ordered the catalog for her store and wished I had money to had ordered clothes from her shop. After she passed I was so hearbroken and cried for months and always wished I could one day go to her museum, I finally did it. I think because this museum is dedicated to an icon, we all want to do our best to love the exhibits. Unfortunately, this is a complete failure and, indeed, Selena's family's way of continuing to inch any dollar amount possible and continue to milk her legacy. To begin, this isn't a "museum." It's rooms filled with stuff. With as much money as has been gained, the family can do Selena's legacy justice - she is, after all, the reason their pockets are the size they are. I was skeptical when reading the reviews about the treatment of visitors. Let me tell you, it's true. Rude treatment UNLESS they feel there is a public benefit to be gained. Of course Mr Q doesn't want to be bothered, we didn't even ask on our trip because we weren't there for him. But it's like an adult working from home - you have a project to do, so the neighbors knocking on the door just to say "hi" are disturbing. If they would give Selena a proper museum and not double the warehouse space as an office and/or studio or whatever the function, then maybe there would be less paying fans "disturbing" the Q family. Overall, nothing here you can't appreciate via pictures. Stop giving this family money and let this amazing icon RIP! read more

Came here on a Friday during Spring Break and it was crowded. Entrance fee is $3 and parking lot is not really big so it may get full at times. They allow photos but no video or flash photography. After paying, you'll have to wait in the lobby to be taken on the tour. It's not that long but you'll walk through the studio where Selena recorded music. Everything is original and not a replica. From there they take you to her museum where her outfits, awards and memorabilia is. It's a great place to visit when in Corpus. read more

I was planning a trip to Corpus Christi, and after reading a few bad reviews about the condition and her father's attitude, I almost skipped this. I'm so glad I didn't. It's not a Smithsonian institution, people! The museum is very clean and well kept, and worth far more than $3 (I believe they said the museum is operated at a loss so that money isn't a barrier to admission). I asked staff if Abraham (Selena's father) would be inviting anyone up to speak to him. They told me I was too late, but then came back and made an exception and walked me up. They were so thoughtful. Abraham was very genuine and happy to answer lots of questions. Yes, he's a little grumpy. He doesn't have to do what he does for as long as he has. He could have just invited me up to flip me off and I would have been happy. I actually thought his crabbiness was really funny. Prices in the gift shop were reasonable and altogether it was a great experience. Highly recommended. read more

If your a Selena fan this definitely a place to visit. The museum while small has a lot of her history there. It was an amazing day and a little heartbreaking. I still remember the events that occurred and it reminded me of how fragile life is. Losing her we all lost an amazing singer who touched so many lives. On our day we visited we got a special behind the serenes tour. Were taken by Mr Q up to a studio and show a little about the process of making an album. Mr Q was amazing and very personable. SALENA was a beautiful women inside and out, her music was one of a kind. The museum wasn't in the best location in Corpus Christi however that's where everything started. I travelled all the way from New York City to see the Selena museum today I wasnt very impressed with Mr. Q he completely ruined the entire museum experience for us all. After seeing the beautiful artwork dresses and awards, it was definitely worth three dollars but it was certainly not worth a $400 plane ticket and $150 hotel room for this experience. 2 times we were promised a picture with Suzette and Mr. Q which we were then blown off because they were too busy. They did this to the children. In my presence, and their parents were angry. Mystery continues- blatant disregard for the patrons who were paying respect to his daughters legacy was rude and uncalled for. I was extremely hesitant to purchase anything from this gift shop because I knew it was going straight into his pocket. If Selena was so concerned about her fans being ripped off, in the past, before her tragic passing she would be rolling in her grave. They Tried to lure fans to a restaurant called the hi Ho. At first the receptionist said that Mr Q was already there but when we entered the museum we saw him in his office on a computer Door open After blowing off 3 separate groups of people a mother did shout at him for being mean to her daughter. She yelled in the hallway as Mr. Q limped off with a Cain ignoring people's anger I realised at that point that this in tire Selena museum is just a profit off of this poor girl is death Selena had accomplish something that her father couldn't. Now he is raking in millions and treating his daughters fans far and near like irrelevant garbage. We stopped by the HiHo Mexican restaurant There is Selena memorabilia in the restaurant and it just looks like Mr Q is getting some profits by sending business over to that Mexican restaurant we walked in and it was completely beneath me, dirty, old, dated, filthy tables, loud atmosphere. We walked out realising this is a tourist trap I travelled from New York City and I am staying in the room where Selena was shot The hotel where Selena was shot is actually going to get a better yelp review then this museum It is all redone and they have respected the tragedy that happened It's probably the only business that's not trying to profit and capitalise off of the death of Selena I expected to spend at least $500 in the Selena gift shop for souvenirs for my friends back in New York City and for the kids I did not want to even purchase my son pencils and a T-shirt but I promised but then when I found out that Suzette was going to come out and take pictures with us I spent an additional hundred dollars- like a fool Then only to find within a minute later she was not going to take pictures with us after all. Disappointing Everyone in the gift shop was complaining I would've loved to have returned my merchandise but the fan inside of me does not want to take this out on Selena herself because she has nothing to do with this. My advice is to not visit this museum unless you are actually in Corpus Christi $3 admission to see cool stuff is worth it But the family running the place is awful attitudes. And they cattle call their fans to businesses claiming "Selena's Favorite" but Mr Q makes profit I will absolutely not take out my frustration on this poor girl I respected her as an artist and even after death I still love her but it's such a shame that her father is such a little weasel just like the woman that took her life. This museum is living proof that Abraham Quintanilla is still taking advantage of his daughter's success. You can walk through the "museum " in about 30minutes. Nothing has a description, I expected way more since the family built this place. There's no story, no warmth, just leave your money here and see some pictures of Selena that you cam easily see online. And the gift shop, good lord, just some cheesy t-shirts, that look cheap but are way overpriced. Good thing it only costs $3, but it is definitely not worth your time and money. I am a big Selena fan and I finally had the chance to come check out the museum. I was in San Antonio for work and decided to drive down for the day. The whole experience was a vibe for me. I had Selena playing in my car as loud as I could play it on the way. The admission is $5 and you have someone guiding you through and telling you some things about Selena and the area where she's walking you through. Once you get to the room where all her items are, you can walk around on your own and explore. I came by myself, so I tried to take the best pictures that I could to save this experience. I was by myself for most of the time I was there. It was during the week, so I loved that I got to be there without a huge crowd. Getting to be up close to her personal items was such an indescribable feeling. Everyone there was really nice. I did see her dad and sister, but I chose to not disturb them. If they spoke cool, if not, also fine. At the end of the day, I know that they are there working. I got to see her statue also by the water and her resting place. If you're a Selena fan, you should definitely come by and experience it for yourself. I live in Houston, so it's not too bad of a drive. I will try to come back because this is one of those things that you will love to experience more than once. read more

I surprised my daughter for our first visit to Corpus Christi. The admission price was surprisingly inexpensive. We got to see her recording studio as well as her many outfits, paraphenalia. It was 10x worth the $3 admission price. I believe her many accomplishments are priceless. The stop at the gift shop was well worth it.
