Lovely paved trails…read more The BLK Hiking Club started their 2024 hiking season at this park. It was my first hike in GA in over a decade. The Hog Mountain entrance has plenty of parking (our group was over 120 people). The bathrooms are adjacent to the parking lot and were clean and stocked. The water was cold but the hand dryers have warm air so your hands will warm right up on cold days. The map by the parking lot and bathrooms shows the routes of various lengths. The trails are paved and easy to navigate with only slight elevations on the 2 mile trail. Our group of over 120 people had plenty of space and room on the trail (walking 2 by 2). Along the trail there are benches and picnic areas. Overall, this is a beautiful, serene hike that is great for groups. I highly recommend it.

The river is fun for the kids but a lack of even a single park employee leads to many insatnces of crowds of loud violent groups taking over and running families out.

Granted, it was a weekday around 3 in the afternoon there weren't many people there. When I got arrived there was only one person in the mixed dog run with her dog. When I left about a half hour later, three other people showed up but everyone was in a separate dog run. The people I met were all very nice and I was told that the park rarely has anyone in the dog park area. I found that really odd because it seems like a nice park with a lot of room for your dog to get all of their energy released.

This was my first time but I could tell things were recently renovated including the event center. The bathrooms were clean too. For my pickle ballers, there's a There's an on site court and also a miniature golf area. Not sure of the cost. They also have water sports activities available like kayaking. I'd definitely come here over the summer. Oh and it's a National park, so parking is $10 if you don't have an annual parking pass.

This park is just the perfect size and has plenty of swings and stuff to do! We really enjoyed the big wavy metal slide. It was super fast and the play area was well maintained and kept clean. No trash in sight, even the trash cans were clean and empty. We went early in the day when it wasn't super hot and sunny so it was the perfect time to go and not get too hot. Please remember to bring drinking water with you because there are not restrooms or water fountains here for public use. There is a small road on the side that use can use to drive up to the lake for fishing and take a small boat too. There were a few people fishing when we were there. It was nice quiet and peaceful. We liked it here, it would be better if they had a pavilion for shade but still a great park!

IT has incredible views alongside Lake Lanier, a pavilion, public bathrooms, bench swings on the lake, a clearing for the lake where many people like to go feed the ducks/geese.. SUCH a great vibe. Definitely worth a visit.
