This woman is great! I had never tried acupuncture before, but someone recommended acupuncture for stress relief. I was skeptical - but it worked a miracle on me. Absolutely. I felt a warm calm spread through my body that I have never, in my life experienced - and it stayed with me for a solid week. The feeling of calm really lasted in total about a month, during which time I felt considerably calmer than I had in a long, long time. Selma really takes her time evaluating you as well - she had you fill out an extensive medical form and will then review it with you prior to the procedure. Selma has a knack for making you feel very comfortable. I can't speak for her other areas of expertiese, but she is very knowledgable about infertility and recurrent miscarriage. Being a veteran of the two myself, I felt that she was more informed than most specialists I have been to. She recommended plenty of natural supplements (you can buy from her, but they are also available online or in health stores). I did see some results within the first few visits. I wish I could continue to see her, but her hours do not accomodate the 9-5 working schedule. She also does not take any insurance so at one visit per week for at least 3 months, it becomes costly. read more

Wish I had as an amazing experience as the others. I was referred to Selma by friend and my impression was that while she is a good acupuncturist, she is a better businesswoman. She spoke with me about my problems prior to treatment which was the rationalization for the 125.00 first time visit fee (all subsequent visits are 85.00) however she did not give me any solutions from a herbological or holistic perspective nor did she offer any treatment plan of acupuncture . In September 2013, i decided to get my hormones checked for fertility reasons, since my friend was doing the same and i was turning 34 in November. My results were less than stellar, so my OBGYN sent me to a specialist - RMA to be exact - to take a second look. My FSH was 28 and AMH ~0.1, and, by pretty much going by this info alone, Dr Cooperman told me that worst case i could always get a donor egg and try to get pregnant that way *with his sad frowny face*. I then got moved to a room to discuss the cost of freezing my eggs to see if that was even a possibility. I was very distraught by this and told my friend who then recommended i see Selma. When i went to see Selma, the first thing she asked me was if i was having a regular period - i was every 28 days. She told me i was fertile and to disregard what these doctors were saying (those hormone tests are so dated and provide only one piece of information - plus i just went off birth control two months prior). I still wanted to proceed with treatment from her because i was so damaged by what these doctors were telling me - even though i wasn't actively trying to get pregnant. She asked "if i was sure" i wanted to get pregnant - i basically said at my age, and from what i was told, i wouldn't mind if it happened - i definitely wanted kids. i went once a week for acupuncture and took the herbs she prescribed. Two months later i was pregnant naturally and had a healthy baby in September 2014. After a year of breastfeeding/pumping and letting my body recover, i knew i wanted a second child, but was still thinking my last pregnancy was some sort of miracle. I went to Selma again early October 2015 and, sure enough, a month later, i was pregnant with my second - i'm scheduled to deliver in one week. After this whole experience, i found Selma to be way more knowledgeable - from an eastern and western medical perspective - than any "specialist" doctor i talked to. She takes so many things into consideration when trying to determine what underlying issues there may be when it comes to fertility. I've been seeing Selma for years now, after a colleague finally got me to go. After many MD visits, it was Selma who recognized I probably had Celiac Disease (confirmed later with a blood test). I have never had her "push" expensive herbs or supplements, and have sent many friends who all liked her. In fact, only after I pushed did she offer me some supplements to take for a short time to heal my colon. I go to her regularly now for "maintenance" and consider her my GP. Selma helped bring me back from the brink of desperate illness. When I first came to her my brain had demyelinated to the point I couldn't lift a fork or attach files to email and within several visits she brought my brain's basic functions back.
