We visited Semifreddo in September for our anniversary, and we were blown away by the exceptional service and atmosphere. From the moment we walked in, the staff made us feel welcome and taken care of. The sommelier definitely knew her wines and helped us choose the perfect bottle to complement our meal. Every recommendation felt thoughtful, not pushy, and the entire wait staff was attentive, without hovering. One of the highlights was getting to watch the chef in action, being a semi-open kitchen. It gives behind-the-scenes vibes in a very modern, clean space. It's an upscale restaurant, but it never felt stuffy. That said, it's best if you call the babysitter. After our meal we had a chance to meet the chef who was incredibly kind and unpretentious- despite his impressive and well established career. This place is amazing! We went here for Father's Day. I had the Petto Di Pollo (chicken with cream sauce, mixed vegetables), and my family had Shrimp Fettochini and Chicken Fettochini. You'll see some criticism in this review and maybe wonder if a 5 is really warranted. First of all, this is the best restaurant I've been to in Manassas. It might be the best Italian restaurant I've been to outside the beltway. So while they could do a couple things better, yes, I think 5 is the right number and we will be back, probably often. We were debating an appetizer and our waiter actually suggested we skip it to save room for dessert. We were there on Valentine's Day after all. We were originally going to start with 2 different salads and again our waiter informed us that 1 salad between the two of us would be enough. A restaurant NOT upselling? What? The salad was delicious. Lightly dressed and everything on it was fresh. We got the arugula and fennel salad and that's a combination I really enjoy. The bread service was also good. The focaccia was maybe a touch overworked if I had to find a negative but the olive oil and pepper to accompany it was a nice simple and relatively healthy way to start the meal. My wife ordered the salmon and I ordered a halibut that was a special. Both dishes had amazing flavor. The potatoes had a smoky flavor and were not overly seasoned so the potatoes flavor came through. I like broccoli, but holy cow I wish I knew what they did to their broccoli to make it taste so good. Really really amazing sides. And the fish was seasoned really well, too, and very fresh. My first complaint comes in at this point, though. Both dishes were a bit over in terms of the doneness of the fish. Still, a great meal but it could have been a little better if the fish had been cooked perfectly. On to dessert. My wife got the semifredo. It's in the restaurants name so you figure it will be good. It was very good. I got the creme brulee. When we asked the waiter what dessert to get, he didn't mention the creme brûlée. But I figured it was a special and so I wouldn't necessarily get to try it again. It was just ok. The custard was good. Slight hint of orange. The the topping was not good. It was over brûléed in spots to the point that it was almost burned and then under cooked in other areas so that the sugar hadn't quite set. The flavor overall was good, but I definitely regret my dessert decision. As I mentioned before the staff were delightful -- not enough words to express how great they were. The decor was upscale. More so than I expected for where the restaurant is located. Lots of touches of wood with understated lighting. It felt really elegant and perfect for a Valentine's Day date. read more

Every dish was not only delicious but also presented perfectly -- you can tell they really care about the details. The owner personally recommended the ravioli with their special bisque sauce, and it completely exceeded expectations. The place looks fancy but not overly so. My bf and I were seated across from the kitchen so we got to see them cooking and heard all the Italian being spoken by the chef. Was pretty fun. The food was great. I had the lobster bisque which at first I thought was a bit too "seafoody" tasting and not as thick as I wanted, but the more I ate it, the more I loved it. I just always had bisque that was a little thicker but the taste was excellent. My bf had the sausage pasta. It didn't look that great presentation wise, but he really enjoyed the flavors. I think the spinach pasta just was appealing. I had the linguini vongole and it's the best in the area. I wish it has some garlic bread so I can dip in the sauce. The only down side was the focaccia bread they served prior to the meal. It was too chewy and not in a good way. It was also not warm and the flavor was lacking. Very disappointing. Good thing the other dishes made up for the subpar bread. And the tiramisu dessert was spot on. read more

I found this at SEMIFREDDO which also happens to be the name of their spectacular one-of-a-kind dessert. The staff is very welcoming, the atmosphere is amazing, the chef came out and introduced himself, and he and the staff are why this place is one of the best Italian restaurants I've been to in my travels not to mention in this small town I came here twice in the week that I was here and was never disappointed. My family went to SEMIFREDDO last night for dinner. Despite its location in a strip mall, this place inside is a vibe. Their service was excellent. The focaccia was very good. My husband and daughter ordered the special tomato soup, which was delicious. I ordered the Romano salad. The salad was delicious and multi faceted with grilled Romain, cherry peppers and a delicious dressing. My daughters split the fettuccini Alfredo with shrimp. They really enjoyed it. My husband had the veal saltimbocca and he loved the veal, vegetables and polenta. I had the fettuccine di spinachi al norcina. If a was wonderful. Being seniors, we came early. The kitchen and wait staff were ready and waiting. Everyone was so friendly helpful courteous and passionate about what they do. Our server, Manny had sommelier training and it showed. He was delightful! The chef himself came out to say hello and guide us in our selections. We told ourselves we wouldn't eat the bread to avoid filling up, but it was so good. Thoroughly enjoyed the prosciutto di Parma appetizer and roasted mushroom soup. Had a Tuscan wine with our pappardelle and shrimp and angel hair with black truffles. I'm still swooning. Then dessert!! We had the special lemon cake di nonna and the namesake Semifreddo as well as the limoncello. Delicious! This is the best culinary experience we have ever enjoyed west of the beltway. I hosted a dinner for 10 Vietnam War Veterans and their guests on May 27, 2026 in Semifreddo's lovely private dining room. Every aspect of the dinner was top notch! The food - we featured pasta, veal and salmon with a choice of desserts - was authentically Italian and truly delicious. The wait staff served with professionalism and attentiveness at exactly the right pace. The staff is like family, all super nice. Calamari maybe the best I've had, roasted Cesar salad with anchovies, squid ink pasta with Salmon one night, scallops over risotto with porchini mushrooms the other. A desert special, chocolate roll concept with ladies fingers and frozen like a mousse, then the tiramisu! If you're in Manassas, you must go! Could not recommend Semifreddo enough. The atmosphere is casual and cozy. The drinks were good (semifreddo martini, Sauvignon blanc and the mojito). We ordered the calamari which I would not recommend. It was very chewy and just bland. We also got the prosciutto and burrata which was good. The vongole was fantastic 10/10. The Duck was also good. The chefs special risotto could've had more flavor and even added veggies. Its too modern for my taste and I didnt feel like I was in Italy. And when I eat great Italian food I want to feel like I am actually in Italy. FOOD: ~Baby octopus appetizer (4/5): Octopus was so soft and flavorful. Came with an arugula salad and cold potato pieces. Really good with the octopus ~Lamb Meatballs (3.8/5): meatballs were moist and tender, but didn't get a ton of lamb flavor from it. The polenta underneath was delicious. Not too grainy, and well seasoned. ~Duck entree (2/5): We asked for the duck to be medium rare, but came out more medium well. Was very dry and tough. The sauce was really good though ~Congole (3/5): very basic. Sauce was tasty but a little too thin so it didn't cling on to the pasta. Clams were a little over cooked, but comes with a decent amount ~Tiramisu (5/5): Loved how drenched the lady fingers were in the espresso/coffee. Could really taste the coffee flavor. The mousse was also really good. If you don't like 'wet' desserts, then you may not like this ~Semifreddo (5/5): When this first came out, it didn't look what i expected it to be. I could just order a plate of them next time - creamy and crispy and OMG. The dish was $28 For dessert I had the namesake semifreddo (frozen mousse, carmelized walnuts, amaretto cookies). We revisited Semifreddo for a much-needed date night. We didn't call for reservations, but we were accommodated right away. For starters, we had Mushroom Soup, Calamari, and Eggplant Parmigiano. The mushroom soup and the calamari were delicious but we were disappointed with the Eggplant Parmigiano - it was mushy, slightly bitter, and the eggplant itself was bland - we had to send it back. For pasta and entree, we split the Truffle Parmesan Cream Pasta and Ribeye. The truffle parmesan cream pasta could be executed better - the truffle was shaved too thickly that it distracted instead of enhancing what would have been otherwise an excellent pasta dish. On the other hand, we were really impressed with the rib eye with veggies - it was cooked perfectly! For dessert, we shared a serving of gelato which we really enjoyed. Overall, even with a few hiccups, we had an amazing experience. I hope they'll improve some of the dishes and maintain the quality of the dishes they do best. read more
