My wife and I went here on Sunday and were pleasantly surprised. They have outside seating which is cool. The inside is very nice. Black and white checkered floors. Mirrors on the walls. Plenty of seating. We were greeted immediately. Drinks are huge! We got mozzarella sticks that were very good. Not where the cheese cooks out. Salads were great and tasty. I got a caesar salad and my wife for a regular salad. Both were great but had a few too many croutons in them Food was better than average but the real star was the friendliness of the server and the cook. Restrooms were clean. I love their food. I also loved their online ordering and delivery until today. I order from them about every month. Today would have been my 3rd order this month. The orders usually arrive within 30 minutes no matter if it is a salad, pizza, or dinner. And it is always hot. Today I placed an order and called to check up in it an hour and a half later. A woman at the restaurant said she did not get my order. She was dismissive and blamed the third party ordering system. While it was the apps fault, her dismissive ness and minimizing the restaurants responsibility really bothered me. I explained to her that the restaurant CHOSE this app to process online orders. I also explained that issues with the app would negatively impact the restaurants business. I emailed the company for my money back. Primo pizza makes pretty good pizza by Nova/PW standards, which has earned them 4 stars, but I'm going to dock them a star. Here's why. The Greek pizza is disgusting. When I go into a Greek restaurant, or an Italian restaurant, this is what I order: Pizza, light sauce, tomato, feta, gyro meat, olives and anchovies. If my waitress is one of the Greek owners, she'll cock her eye, look at me, and ask, "Are you Greek?" It happens Every Single Time. A reaction I love, BTW. I was in the mood for Greek pizza, and, sadly, Anthony's is closed. So I called Primo and ordered a Greek pizza. Apparently, it's a specialty item on the menu. This is what I got: Gyro meat Raw red onion Raw lettuce Feta Tsatsiki sauce, lots and lots of it. This pizza was one hot mess. The onions and lettuce were par cooked from the heat of the pizza, and that's something I NEVER want on my pie. The sauce made it even soggier. I think it was supposed to be a gyro on a pizza, but that ain't Greek pizza. I looked on their menu afterward, and that is how their Greek pizza is described. Barf. I'll order from Primo again, but I'm never ordering their Greek pizza again. You shouldn't either. read more

Primo has become a trusty, reliable source for good pie in Manassas. It's a place I always seem to able to go back to and get my money's worth. Their pizza is a thin New York-style crust that has a good crisp on the bottom, yet remains chewy. The dough is solid and does not disappoint. Toppings have all been tasty and fresh, with pepperoni and spinach being my preferred choice. I have to dock a few points because Primo doesn't offer extra cheese as an option on Grubhub (and c'mon, who doesn't love a pizza with extra cheese?) but that's a small complaint in the scheme of things. To me, the pizza is near perfect. It hits all the right marks and satisfies in every way I want a pizza to perform. I judge a pizza place based on their cheese pizza. A plain cheese pie is pizza at its most basic, and if you can't do a good cheese pie, the rest of your menu doesn't really matter. And thankfully, Primo hits the mark. I'll also give a thumbs up for their Caribbean wings. They've got a great sauce with spices that tingles the tongue, but never overwhelms. It's a pleasant and downright tasty. To be fully honest, I'm not a huge fan of their pastas. They're not bad, mind you, but there's vastly better options literally around the corner. Pizza is where Primo really shines. read more

They were dry, bland and a bit stale. And zero garlic on them. Just plain lumps of bread. I guess they were short on "knots" because there were 3 wedge pieces in the box. At least those had a TINY bit of garlic. It came with marinara sauce that barely qualifies to be called marinara sauce. It tasted like canned tomatoes with only the tiniest amount of spices. Final verdict on the garlic knots w/ marinara...F. White pizza. Meh. It was ok. Just ok. Not bad. Not good. Crust was blah. Bread is definitely not this place's strong point. Not too greasy. This pizza was supposed to have garlic though and again....where's the garlic? Jeesh, this place needs help with their breads & garlic use. It was pretty much a small round of pizza dough with a thin layer of cheese. That's it. Sad. Final verdict on the white pizza....D. Fettuccine Alfredo. This is such a ridiculously simple dish to make it should be pretty impossible for an Italian restaurant to screw up. Well, they did. Pasta was clearly a boxed brand. Sauce....well, it's hard to judge the sauce because there was virtually none. I don't like my pasta swimming in sauce, but this was basically bare pasta. If you're going to go that light on sauce your pasta itself needs to be good enough to be in the spotlight, not boxed. Then there's the chicken...good grief. How do you manage to make it taste so bland it must have been boiled then finished in the oven to look roasted....AND so dry it could be used as cotton? Too bad there wasn't more sauce as these dry chicken shards would have soaked it up in an instant. Clearly premade chicken that sits waiting for use all day & is just reheated for the dish. Final verdict on the fettuccine....F. Side salad. Got caesar. Nearly naked. Sad salad. Verdict....F. My husband went to culinary school & worked as a chef at restaurants for many years. This place bombs on some of the simplest and most basic Italian restaurant staples. To fail so badly at these kinds of basic dishes the quality in the kitchen has to be miserable. Flat out miserable. We visited Primo Pizzeria for the first time tonight. It was cold and rainy outside but warm and very welcoming inside. Decorated for Christmas, humming with activity, we felt right at home. Service was excellent and fast, pizza was hot, tasty and affordable. We complimented the waitress on everything and she thanked us, went away and returned with a slice of cheesecake on the house. It was divine, probably the best I've had. Served with a pineapple topping, it was super creamy and made in house. We will definitely go back. The pie is very good, the steak & cheese is great with extra meat, and the lasagna is fantastic. For those who have posted negative reviews; After being a customer of Primo's for the past year, I have never experienced any of what you complain about. The food is consistently very good, the delivery is always just as tasty as sitting in the booth at the restaurant, and the delivery people have always been very speedy and courteous. It's a pizza place people... not Tavern on the Green. Oh, and they have often given me a slice of delicious cheesecake as a freebie which is really tasty too. Great Ny pizza. I had a plain cheese slice for 2$. The taste was spot on. The cheese to tomato sauce ratio was perfect. The cheese and sauce are properly baked into the dough. The toppings hold together nicely to create uniform flavor on each bite. The flavor is very close to authentic NY pizza. It's good but the only thing holding it back from 5 stars is first, the overall size and secondly the thickness of the dough. I've seen bigger slices for 2$ but it's still a decent value. The dough almost seemed too thin in spots. A pizza crust should never remind you of a cracker. Maybe a little bit thicker dough would help. Service: even though I ordered carry-out I was treated with great care and respect all customers deserve. The server was friendly and offered me a menu. He was very polite in explaining a pricing discrepancy. Also a manager was very polite to me when my order was ready. Second visit here and it's my last. It's not because the food is awful....it's just ok. The reason is the price. Last night I picked up a pizza,a salad, and three cannoli. The bill rang up to an astonishing 45$ for a pick up order. The bill would have been one thing if the food was just amazing...but it's not. The pizza was poorly executed with barely any sauce and cheese that had a really poor texture and poor coverage. The crust was passably crisp yet still chewy but it wasn't anything special. The salad was sorta fresh. The cannoli has a really odd texture for the filling. Really kind of grainy. Tony's or Joes would have been a better choice. Villagio in Clifton would have been even better and more on track with these guys price tags. And these guys ain't no where near that. read more
