RUN! I truly wish zero stars was an option. I chose them after over a week of looking through firms, calling multiple places, reading reviews, etc. I had a couple conversations with Sergio and felt good about this decision. After some rough years I'd let things go and am working to get everything back on track. They weren't the cheapest, but I felt good after coming here to see 5 stars and talking with Sergio. It started out fine. I went in and signed and provided what I had. The breakdown started with the portal. Jennifer had asked for something and I didn't see the message. I got busy with life and assumed they had what they needed. I signed September/October. January and I haven't heard a thing! I call multiple times and can't get anyone to answer. No one's calling back. I finally get Cindy (who said they didn't get the messages!) she put me in touch w Jennifer and I got her direct work line. Apparently there's a miscommunication of my info or something. Ok. Still calm at this point, things happen. Jennifer says for the older years Sergio's son will mail me the info to sign as it's too old to do electronically. Fine. I provide the address I'm at for the moment. She assures me how good and quick he is. She's also done my current years and they're ready to be signed. Well it's been over 6 weeks and I've gotten nothing in the mail. 2/9 I wanted to clarify something before signing electronically and reached out to Jennifer for a call. We agreed to a time. I got the fancy emails about an appointment. Almost a month later still waiting on said call. I was added to a group chat with Jennifer, I guess Sergio and Cindy. I had been talking with Jennifer a bit in it when I get a side text from one of the other numbers asking who I am! Excuse you?! I didn't start this thread nor did I add or include anyone. Why are you asking me when I don't know who you are! It was super unprofessional but that's been the theme of this experience. I reached out in the thread expressing my frustration with this whole pile of shit bc that's what it's become. Cindy responded and asks for my schedule to speak with Sergio. I provided 3 days of times and have yet to even receive an acknowledgment. I expressed additional frustration to the lack of acknowledgment again and got a couple emails sent about documents but I don't want to sign anything with them at this point. This isn't how you do business and it's not at all what I was presented. Customer service is a foreign concept here. I feel taken advantage of. There's no excuse for this level of unprofessionalism. I filed a BBB complaint and am warning the community here. They do have a complaint around communication on BBB so it's not new. Money isn't free and you don't treat customers like this. If you agree to take me on as a customer you're agreeing to be professional. Nothing could be further from the truth. This has been an epic level of what not to do in business. I truly want my money back and to go elsewhere. I hired and paid more for peace of mind and no stress. They've literally induced so much stress it's ridiculous. The irony of the name being tax relief. They were apologetic after the couple month ball drop in January. I'm chill I was trying to be cool; assuming that if you drop the ball once, I'm back on the radar - it won't happen again. Nope. They don't care. Actions have proven it. Words mean nothing here anymore. Livid is an understatement. I wasn't going to post anything until after speaking with Sergio but there's truly nothing he can say or do to make this better. It's not a one off w a rude employee or my food got messed up. It's months of time wasted and terrible customer service. No conversation can undo that and I'd be doing the community a disservice if I didn't warn others. read more

We owed Federal tax from a few years ago, but couldn't pay the whole amount at once since we're having difficulties financially. I can't say enough positive feedback about Semper Tax Relief! I've been working with this group for about 5 months now so I've gotten to know a few employees (Marc McCarthy, Cindy Sosa, Jeffrey Pachuilo, and Sergio Melendez to name a few). Each individual has been extremely attentive to my case. Jeff did my 2020 taxes and he was fantastic. Very knowledgeable, kind, and responsive. Marc has been working with me from the first phone call. He has always called back promptly. After hearing my situation, he worked with me on the payment plan and has been flexible with my personal needs. I feel heard and I feel like they all truly care with genuine empathy. I'm now about to work with Cindy. She is going to help me negotiate community IRS back taxes. So far, she always answers when I call and is very kind. She even schedules phone meetings weeks in advance to make sure I'm staying on top of my paperwork so she can move forward with the IRS in a timely manner. So professional! Semper did an incredible job of filing several years of my unfiled state and federal tax returns. This was done during the height of the Covid-19 epidemic and we didn't have to meet in person - after our initial phone conversation, everything was done via Semper's efficient online paperwork system. It is a flawless system that must have taken years to perfect. During the process, my email questions were answered with a quick reply and my phone calls were either answered or I was called back immediately. All of my returns were filed quickly and for the price quoted. It was a great experience and one that now gives me tremendous peace of mind. Finally, Semper even has a service to negotiate payment arrangements and I agreed to it immediately, since they deal with the IRS every day. Once my returns are finally processed and we see how it all shakes out, Semper will negotiate a payment plan on my behalf. I believe this will be money well spent. read more

Honest, Non-threatening, Clear Communication, Results Focused, Reasonable Priced, and they Deliver!!! If you are reading this it's likely you are in a similar situation, I was/am in.  My story goes like this... left the military, found a great salaried job, which included an incredible "company stock" package.  However, following some poor financial guidance and decisions to execute shares of stocks sooner than I should have, I quickly found myself under a huge tax debt.  Almost in disbelief, as if the compounding tax debt had to be a mistake, it grew year after year.  Until I realized I had to address it.  I made personal efforts to get on track, by directly contacting the IRS, but that was fruitless.  I eventually found help setting up an installment plan, but it was for every cent above my monthly basic expenses, leaving me with nothing after paying bills.  So, I continued to search for assistance, but only ran into one "aggressive, threatening toned" so-called tax advocate company after the other.  It got to the point, I started to believe all the advocate companies were just scammers.  Some of the companies wanted significant up-front fees, some even asked for full payment on services which they would then explain they may not be able to provide.  I truly felt helpless, things had gotten out of control, and it was only a matter of time before the IRS would start garnishing my salary or something worse.  I continued searching for support, when I came across Semper Tax.  Being a prior service-member myself, I was initially attracted to the company's name, as I knew it was homage to the Marines' motto (Semper Fidelis).  So, I felt the company likely had honest leadership and high moral principles at its core which I could relate to.  So, I reached out to them and immediately appreciated the tone at which the representative discussed my situation.  There was no threatening tone or insinuations regarding what the IRS was going to do to me, and there were no quick false promises of what they could provide that other companies couldn't.  In fact, my first call ended with the Semper Tax representative clearly stating my case was unique due to the amount owed and the monthly amount I bring home, and he wasn't sure how much they could help.  However, I felt he had listened and totally comprehended my situation more than any of the previous advocate companies I had spoken to.  And there was a sense of sincerity behind the conversation that I had yet to feel since I started seeking help.  So, when asked to give them a couple days to review my case, I agreed.  A few days later, I received a call and assessment that they weren't sure how much they could help, but they would give it their full attention.  And since it was such a difficult case, instead of taking full payment for their services, the ask was for only a small percentage of a set total price.  The remaining balance of the set price was to be paid only if they made significant progress in my case. A few months passed, when I received what I thought was my routine monthly IRS bill, but instead it was a letter explaining my monthly bill had been reduced by more than half.  The letter also explained the reduction was in response to the negotiations recently made on my behalf.   I applaud Semper Tax, and I'm extremely grateful to Marc McCarthy & Sergio Melendez for their efforts in my case. This has been one of the most stressful times of my life. I've never had any issues with the IRS or my taxes in 40 years. I'm a 56 year old business woman that has always had a pretty good head on my shoulders, but this was completely over my head. I needed to find a tax relief company that could explain everything to me, be patient with all of my questions, and deal with my many concerns and stresses. I had an identity theft situation with the irs they sent me letters saying i owed money for certain years and i know i didint owe them because i never heard of the company that was on the paper , but im also young and never experienced this let alone dealt with the irs , so i called many places and finally stumbled across semper tax i loved how they had so many positive reviews so i gave them a call they immediately started working my case , and also offered me a payment plan which was so convenient and it wasent the most expensive either , the process was stressful for me mentally but overall it was very simple the hardest part for me is literally just sending paperwork and thats just cause i dont have a printer at home lol . Marc , Jeff , Sergio and Cindy all helped me through the process very respectful people and are good at what they do and in 6 months "my debt" that wasent even mine lol was at $0 !
