The people at Rush have been an absolute Godsend to me!! Way back in 2011 I was unemployed and was forced to withdraw money from a retirement account in order to pay living costs. Although I withheld money for taxes, apparently I did not withhold enough. The IRS caught and notified me of the under-withholding in 2013 and, with penalties and interest on the original amount, to total was more than I could then pay at once. After asking around and speaking with several law firms that promised they could help me, I hired one such firm. At the time, I was really just expecting them to help me put a realistic payment plan in place. By 2017, I had paid that firm nearly $35K, and even the Tax Court appeal judge commented that it looked like the IRS hearing officer had taken out her frustrations with my attorney on me. While it appears to be the case in the US that the "little people" pay taxes while the rich can very publicly boast about how they have managed to avoid paying taxes and, indeed, how "smart" they are for doing so, this would appear to be the best possible outcome for someone like me. Unlike the law firm, which was much money down the drain, Rush paid for themselves in the first week alone by convincing the IRS to drop $30K in interest and penalties. We had a number of tax issues for 2103, 2014, 2015, 2016 and 2017. Issues were caused partly by not having the money to pay the tax but mostly by our CPA not filing some returns even though we had signed the eFile form. I talked with several other firms before selecting Rush Tax. The other firms I talked with wanted an initial fee to do an assessment and would then tell me how much their fee would be. Rush Tax gave me a firm fixed cost right out of the chute. Further, they allowed me to pay in instalments. All was progressing well then the crisis hit. I had an application in for a SBA loan. My husband and I have been paying the IRS for many years, hiring two Big Name tax resolution "Experts" in the past. First, I want to start by saying how thankful and blessed I am to have found this firm.
