I have not always had the best view or opinion of CrossFit from past experiences over the years,…read moreand even at times I thought it can be too extreme or risky, but the truth is it truly comes down to the trainers of each CrossFit gym and how it's managed....let me just say this gym and its trainers are top notch. They pay attention to each individuals form and make sure the person is doing the right level (beginner to advance) throughout the whole workout. Safety is not on the back burner here. The workouts are great and challenging. In the classes the people help and encourage each other without question. if you want to make small gains over time for big wins in your health, mentally and physically, this is a great place to start.

I had never picked up a barbell, so the idea of CrossFit was both exciting and intimidating. I had no idea what to expect when I walked into this gym, but what I found was so much more than just a building full of equipment. The coaches are so thoughtful and thorough in their approach to teaching the movements, and their corrective feedback ensures bad habits don't linger too long. The community is unlike any other, and the members support each other both inside and outside of the gym. Matt and Alex have done such a wonderful job of fostering a very welcoming environment that truly feels like a family. Bonus: Coach Rachel is also a PT, has an office on-site, and helped me come back stronger from the running injury that originally brought me to CrossFit. If you're considering trying CrossFit, do yourself a favor and call Matt!

This place is the real deal. A pretty active athlete throughout high school (tennis, ran with cross…read morecountry kids, lifted heavy weights), I fell off the track after graduation and was in desperate need for something that would push and challenge me. I tried going to the gym, which worked out for a while, but I soon became bored with the constant repetition. I needed something a little more interesting. Lo and behold, I stumbled across this gym. Met the owner Jeff on an open gym day, who offered a free class before a membership, but I decided to become a member right then and there anyways. Best decision I could've possibly made. Here's a mental picture of a typical weekday evening, maybe around 7: walking into the gym, the first thing you see and hear are the punching bags. The smack of gloves against rubber, and then a timer going off every minute or so at a constant rate. Look to your right, a small class of new members doing a warm up. Look up at the boxing ring, a sparring match is taking place while the owner Jeff is on the sideline throwing in commentary for improvement. Chairs by the front might be occupied by a mom or two, watching as her little ones learn the basics of shadow boxing and how to wrap their hands for protection. All whilst rap music is blasting throughout the gym. With this scene in front of you, you won't be able to shake off this need to put in some work. Moving onto the actual classes. Not going to lie, the first few days suck. The workout with the instructor Jorge is going to kick your ass- I've been here for a little more than a month and for some classes I show up to, there's someone running to the bushes outside to puke at the very end. I've seen a military personnel practically winded- guess boot camp has nothing on here! But as the weeks pass by, you start noticing that hey... I did 10 more than the last time. This doesn't suck as much. And you start noticing how your stamina is improving, and that makes everything so incredibly worthwhile. You can thank Jorge for that, an amazing instructor who will push you beyond your boundaries, but understands that the body still has physical limits and will always want your health to come first. All around fantastic gym with great energy. I highly recommend to anyone seeking out a good workout for a very good deal, wants to relieve some stress, or plan on becoming the next Rocky. This is the place you want to be at.

Athletes Edge is officially my new FAVE spot!!!…read more After being out of boot camp for two years, I really started packin on the pounds & thought I'd never find a trainer as affordable or as dedicated as the last one I had. Thank goodness I'm the type that actually reads brochures others set up at local business's, otherwise I would have never found out about this spot!!! After grabbing a flyer from Darque Tan, I called the number & set up a meeting time with Nick. Super sweet, cool guy. He got my girlfriend & me all measured, weighed, & signed up for the 9am training class. When we arrived the next day for our actual class, we were greeted by Alfred (see his business card in pics I posted). ANOTHER super sweet, funny, cool, dedicated guy!!! The three of us immediately clicked as if we had known each other for years. IMO, the best thing to have with your trainer is a great relationship!! Alfred works us HARD!!! I love how understanding he is when you feel like you need to take a breather. I've experienced some pretty crappy trainers in my day (one of which was obviously drunk & on drugs...See my review for Blast coming soon) but Alfred is right on point with everything!!! The trainer I had a few weeks ago started me off with 75lbs on each arm, fast bench presses, 1st exercise & it tore my shoulder/arm up. Just so happens Alfred is a PT & is not only working me out 3 days a week, but also doing rehab on that arm of mine. LOVE IT!!! Every body builder, trainer, and client is super sweet & soooo friendly. Alfred was even able to refer my husband to a doctor that their body builders see, and everyone has made a point to ask how my husband's doing!!! THAT'S LOVE!!! The entire facility (which is in a warehouse) is extremely clean, sparkling bathroom, up to date equipment, & fully stocked with water, sports drinks, energy drinks, & protein shakes. If you're looking to do weight training, one-on-one personal training, boot camp, and much more, I STRONGLY suggest giving Alfred a call at Athletes Edge!!! You'll be taken care of, look great, and get to spend time with a fantastic group for a very low cost!!!

People around me saw the results and asked what I was doing... All I did was send them my referral link. ;) As long as you focus on yourself and goals ... it's not so bad! You won't be able to get anyone on the phone if you have a concern. They only allow chat. I have been a member of CG for 3 years and last fall was convinced I could lower my monthly bill by $10 if I signed up for the 12 month contract. At the time, I saw no reason that I would be quitting all things staying the same with the current times and locations. Shortly after signing up, one of the only trainers that I could attend Monday mornings quit. I drop my kids offs at school later on Mondays (9:00) so I can't just switch to another location that day because there are no locations with a start time of 9:30 near me. Around January, another trainer I attended on Wednesday quit as well. This is the trainer that convinced me to save $10 and sign up for a 12 month contract. After my trainer quit, Camp gladiator moved me to a new trainer for the purposes of my membership, but they didn't fill those same locations at the same times that they use to hold camp before the trainer quit. I asked them to make an exception to cancel my membership a couple months early since I can't control two trainers quitting within the same 6 month period. Also, I don't like the online workouts as I like working out with a group. I have submitted a google form to corporate requesting that they make an exception but I heard no response. So, strongly think about committing to their memberships as there is no backing out!
