The next day, the screen started to glitch and not work, so I brought it in, and that's when he said: "oh the screen also has water damage". Was kinda skeptical as to why he didn't mention that when fixing the Ipad but again, I paid for the screen replacement. Its now a month later and not only is the ENTIRE screen lifting from the titanium base and he says its going to continue to happen because the base is bent (never did he mention that when fixing my Ipad, so now Im thinking he bent it) but he also CRACKED the base where the charging port was replaced (slipped up and admitted to using a cheap part) so even if he does fix the screen. I'll have issues later on about water and dust getting inside the base (check other reviews because this happened to another customer) So now I'm sitting and waiting to talk to this man's boss, who had me call 4 DIFFERENT numbers, he's calling 4 DIFFERENT numbers, including the number you find on Google, trying to get ahold of his boss, and NOTHING. Oh, and he likes to use the excuse that he doesn't know English well and how God is gonna judge me cause he's not a bad person, but he is a SCAM ARTIST.

It was really comforting to have someone clearly explain what she was going to do and how she could help. Then the manager, who I believe was Roberto, came over to make sure everything was being handled correctly. Since my phone wasn't working, they even used their own phone to call the main support line. It had been a frustrating day, but walking into the store and being helped by two people who genuinely cared made a big difference. Since it appeared to be defective, I went back to the store to have it exchanged. Unfortunately, I didn't have my receipt with me, so I couldn't remember the exact purchase date. The associate told me that if it had been more than 14 days, I would need to go to the Apple Store. I went home, found the receipt, and confirmed that I was still within the 14-day return/exchange window. I returned to the store expecting them to honor the exchange. Instead, I was immediately told to go to the Apple Store. When I explained that I was still within the return period and wanted to exchange a defective phone, I was then told there would be a $55 restocking fee. What bothered me most is that the restocking fee was never mentioned during my first visit. Had I been told about it then, I wouldn't have wasted my time making another trip. It felt like the staff was more focused on pointing to fine print and policies than helping a customer with a defective product. I understand stores have policies, but clear communication and good customer service go a long way. Unfortunately, that was not my experience here.

I e been to Smart Cell before and they were super fast and efficient. This time was no different. The cost was $150, and I'm not sure if it's a fair price compared to other cell repair places, but i prefer small businesses over someone like Best Buy Geek Squad. It didn't take long for the transfer, and he was able to get everything. Everything! Very happy about that. So money well spent in my opinion. I was charged $50 upfront to "calibrate" the camera and was told there was only a 50/50 chance it would work. Unfortunately, when I came back, I was told the calibration didn't fix the problem and that it was actually the motherboard. Then said I would have to leave the phone for another 7 days, but even then he couldn't guarantee it would be repaired. I understand that electronics can be difficult to diagnose, but I don't think it's fair to charge customers upfront when there's no clear diagnosis or confidence that the repair can be completed. I ended up paying $50 without my daughter's phone being fixed and without a definite solution. I wish the expectations had been clearer from the beginning so I could have decided whether it was worth moving forward. Unfortunately, based on my experience, I wouldn't return.
