Last January I started doing bootcamp with Capstone and it really changed my life. I wish I could tell you it's easy - but the first couple weeks were tough and you really have to hang in with it. My body was adjusting to the workouts. My ego was adjusting to mental strength needed to do these workouts. But it truly does get easier, and one of the best things Christina (owner/trainer) told me when I started was to not try and keep up with the people who've been there for a long time. Just do my own workout and don't give up. Within 3 months I have lost about half the weight, my clothes feel good, and I'm getting stronger every week. It really is a community here, and everybody supports each other wherever they are on their journey. I've been doing some form of fitness training for most of my life. This is one of the best, if not the best, experiences I've had. It's fun, it's fast (45 minutes), it's energizing, and you get real results and meet nice people. I met her at EOS gym in Palm Springs several years ago. Before she began work in Palm Desert and La Quinta. She was my personal fitness trainer. I went through a health crisis (unexpected heart surgery!) during my time training with Melissa. When I finished recovering at home and returned to the gym, she went above and beyond what would have been expected of a personal trainer. Taking things slow, adapting to what I needed and making it all work. For real. No Joke. I will be forever grateful to her for being there like that. It was difficult yet she remained brave and confident. Making her new healthy exercise program for me happen. Now I am 100% back to normal and I couldn't have done it without her thoughtfulness and foresight. I found Melissa to be very competent and effective as a personal trainer. The workouts are challenging, well-structured, and varied, and the coaches know how to tailor them to individual goals. What stands out most is that this gym is more than just a place to work out. Their weight equipment is hard to understand and variety is poor as best. Their cardio machines brand, in my opinion, is the worst in the market, techno gym. A very cheap buy for a gym that expensive. Hard to use those without hurting your knees in my opinion. Which gym doesn't have ELLIPTICALS?? Unbelievable. That's literally the only cardio piece of equipment I'm able to use and they don't have them, such a basic piece of equipment, and front desk doesn't even know for sure if they are ever going to get them. Worst part is the price. Maybe it's because of the classes, but a gym that is $225 a month should be top notch in every sense of the word. An equinox gym type level. It's not very smart having the showers in one room and the toilets in a totally different one, and a sauna tiny room where everybody can see you. Maybe that's why the whole place was almost empty. Try it first before joining. May be worth it for the classes but for whoever doesn't do classes, I believe it's a waste of money.
