Going down really is fairly easy and doesn't seem that bad and once you get to see the Whirlpool it's all worth it! It's a hike however that isn't going to be everyone's idea of fun. Most children would probably not endure as it did take us approximately an hour down and then once you are there it's the going back upwards that is difficult. Along the path keep your eyes open to wildflowers along the way and awesome views. It's neat seeing beautiful flowers growing amongst dried up land where nothing else seems possible to grow. This is how I travel life, I look for the treasure and glimmers along my path to keep encouraged and motivated even when life seems barren and desolate. The water here is so beautiful and while you can't swim here for safety reasons, we did dip a shirt in the water to wipe off the sweat on our brow. So many great photos were taken as we rested before traveling back up. As we got along the final steps I did see a snake and got energized to run ahead up the stairs! The steps are uneven and the path sometimes blocked by fallen trees so staying alert is imperative as you hike! Be sure to take water for your hike and rest as needed!

By no means am I super fast nor slow. Our tee time was for 2:45 and I heard another group come in after us that had a tee time for 3:05. It's not too difficult nor easy it's a happy middle. There is a perfect amount of water to make the course challenging and unpredictable. You will Lose quite a bit of golf balls on the course thought no because of the brush or water but because if you hit a bad ball, you'll need to hit another and can't spend time actually looking for your ball because the next group will be on your tail. I told the person I was golfing with that they could absolutely make a wedding venu on their property. There are lots of beautiful areas for wedding pictures. We ordered food and a drink before we played. The bar was very nice, good lighting and personable bartenders. We ordered a couple beers, a Reuben sandwich and an order of sweet potato fries. All items were terrific. The sandwich had real corned beef, swiss cheese, sauerkraut, sauce and pumpernickel seeded bread. Yum! The fries had a butter, cinnamon syrup that was delicious too. The beer was $5 for happy hour, which is not a bad price for hay burner. We were able to pay $10 to rent a club and we got a bucket of medium balls. There were plenty of spots available on both floors and the area was clean and set up nicely. I hit a few balls, so I feel that it was a successful night! We had so much fun and will definitely be back.

I grew up in Akron and used to call Dande my home course for high school golf. I now live out of…read morethe area and haven't played there in a couple years, but I was really impressed with how far its come along when I was there this morning to play a round with my brother. The course was in amazing shape and they are in the process of adding a lot more to the practice area and they are working on running a cart path along all 18 holes. It's a little pricey, but seeing how they are doing what they can to make the course better, makes me feel like it's worth it to play there. They even have a PGA professional there now offering lessons and other coaching. I feel like they are doing a great job at being a great, more inexpensive option than going to Ivy Ridge or Arrowhead nearby. The course itself is beautiful and not too challenging. It offers a few challenging holes and there are no bunkers so it's honestly a great place for all skill levels.

You can also bring your own food but there is a charge per person. The great - The customer service is top notch. I bombarded them with questions over email, they didn't leave a single one unanswered, they were quick to respond and very accommodating. The patience in answering multiple emails, questions and follow up questions is how I knew my experience here would be good. The good - The alcoholic drink options were okay, the variety wasn't large but the cocktails and mocktails were good. Food was good too. The karaoke was a bit confusing to navigate at first but we got the hang of it. There's something for everyone here and coming in a large group definitely made it worth it.
