I wish they would consider that most long-haul patients are unable to work, and such drastic price increases make it nearly impossible for many to access the care they desperately need.

I have to give them five stars for their medical professionalism and how closely they monitored me during the procedure. Everything went smoothly with the actual injection, and I was carefully watched for about two hours afterward, mainly to track my blood pressure, which tends to spike after this kind of treatment. But unfortunately, it was my experience in the recovery room that was truly awful. After the second injection, I started feeling pretty overwhelmed. I was dizzy, nauseated, emotionally raw, and really vulnerable. Some people experience emotional releases after this procedure, and I certainly did--crying, mood swings, the whole bit. While the staff had informed me that this was common, instead of feeling cared for, I felt disregarded. The nurse assigned to my care, Dawn, was incredibly dismissive. I asked for simple things to help me feel more comfortable, like a blanket because I felt cold, a pillow to put under my knees, and for the loud music in the recovery room to be turned down, but she just responded with annoyance, saying, "You'll have to give me a minute. I'm a nurse first," and then ignored all of my requests. The vibe from her had me feeling like I was bothering her just by needing basic care. Being in such a stripped down and vulnerable state, it reinforced early feelings of powerlessness and shame at needing care. It was honestly traumatic. Additionally, once my blood pressure stabilized, they told me I could go. No one checked in with me to see how I was doing or told me what to expect next. I had to ask the receptionist what I should do after leaving, and she told me I'd get a follow-up call the next day--which never came. That left a really bad taste in my mouth. The whole experience felt a bit like a medical assembly line--efficient, but without any emotional care or empathy. If SPM could improve their approach and better address the non-medical needs of their patients, it would make a huge difference. Unfortunately, because of the way I was treated afterward, I left feeling worse than when I arrived, which was really disappointing, and so easily avoided.

Yesterday May 14th I finally had my hip arthroscopy for a torn labrum and FAI. Dr. H has been amazing through this whole process. He has listened to me. He encouraged me try non-invasive treatments first including Injections, physical therapy, weight training which gave me 4 additional years of use after the injury. We went year by year and month by month and eventually decided given the pain and the work I had done without enough improvement that ultimately surgery would be the best option . Dr H is always cool, level headed , explains things , listens and doesn't rush. You decided together a plan of care and he follows thru. On referrals etc. My surgery went amazing yesterday. My pain is well controlled and I am well on my way to recovery thanks to Dr . H and truly his whole staff. The office ladies have been amazing !!! Jessica who schedules the surgeries, Briana and Gina, who answered my multiple text messages. And got issues figure out for me quickly. Dr. H's nurse (I am not remembering her name) is always so kind and down to earth. The sweet ladies who answer the phone and you check in and out are great also. Truly I have had a great experience in a not great situation and I am thankful for my medical team at all star orthopedics and would recommend them to anyone. Side note all star was referred to me by a 30 year old friend of mine that had double hip replacements and loved their experience also !!

My primary care doctor has been Dr. Bryan Wasson, DO for nearly five years now…read more When I first found Dr. Wasson, I was working in a miserable working environment that was not only miserable because of the hostility of the workers but the unreasonable use of the Air Conditioning at 62 degrees year round. I ended up with bronchitis and walking pneumonia three times in six months. Here is why I give Dr. Wasson 5 stars. He is one of the few doctors I have ever consulted with who actually realizes we might know a tad about our own bodies. What a concept? Right! Here is where we found this realization. I have been susceptible to chronic bronchitis for most of my life, an affliction I share with my mother. And both of us, over the years have figured out that there is a tell-tale sign of impending doom... a metallic taste in our mouth that won't go away. The first time I went to see Dr. Wasson, I complained about a metallic taste in my mouth. He gave me an antibiotic, a weak one and sent me on my way. Two weeks later I had full blown bronchitis that was borderline walking pneumonia. This time he gave me a couple of shots and some medicines to get me well. He wrote this metallic taste phenomenon in my chart. Every time since then, I just call and say I'm tasting metal and he gives me the full treatment before I have a chance to get really sick. Only once have I been given a prescription from Dr. Wasson where he didn't give me a sample or a coupon. And that one time was one of those days I was thoroughly glad to have such a great doctor! I had full-blown food poisoning. I had been attempting to take phenergan for a couple of days to no avail. I had both suppositories and pills. So this day Dr. Wasson gave me a prescription and sent me over to Las Colinas Pharmacy where they created a phenergan cream that I could rub on my arms. Because if you have been getting sick for 3-4 days you have to be able to get the medicine in you where it will stay, if you catch my drift. Dr. Wasson's office has always been able to work me in anytime I was sick...and they were very quick and thorough when I needed to have my pre-op screening to make sure my heart, my lungs and everything else was healthy enough for brain surgery. I thoroughly recommend Dr. Wasson if you are looking for an internal medicine doctor.
