The director also only gives lip service and not very good at that. I am not in the state so I only can give moral support to my family who are extremely upset at the lack of professionalism and help they have received. No one has given the family instruction in body mechanics , proper information on her meds, and no apology for the lack of any of the above. I was a home care nurse for years and never told my families I did not have time for them. On one occasion, a staff member spoke to him in a demeaning manner rather than addressing his concerns. Most concerning was the lack of urgency during a medical emergency. When he experienced severe respiratory distress, staff response was delayed, and emergency services were only called after persistent family advocacy. He was later hospitalized, where the findings indicated a severe case of pneumonia. No family should have to repeatedly advocate just to ensure basic, timely care for their loved one. This experience raised serious concerns about patient safety, responsiveness, and overall quality of care. I hope the facility takes meaningful corrective action to prevent this from happening to others.
